[Q] How do I get voicemail when running ViperOne Rom 3.5? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I'm still running ViperOne 3.5 since there's no 4.x updates yet for sprint phones. I seem to be unable to use the voicemail app. It just comes back with "General Failure" when trying to personalize voicemail or search for updates. I just discovered that I've got like 10 voicemails that I had no idea existed. Is there a different app i need to use now?

YouMail is my favorite

[Q] MMS problem

Is there a way to get to the ##3282# screen to change my MMS address in 2.2? Do you have to have a standard dialer to get this screen?
That feature and those ##code## menus aren't available in CM6 because they are Sprint/CDMA-based tools that are only found in Sense-based Sprint ROMs. CM6 is just pure Android and doesn't have a lot of the Sprint-specific stuff in it. The "standard dialer" I think you're referring to is probably the HTC Sense dialer which CM6 doesn't have because it doesn't use HTC Sense framework.
Ok, thanks. This is the only issue I'm having with the rom and its got me puzzled.

Mandatory Update?

Just got a Voice mail showing a mandatory update. Anyone else getting this and any one know what it is?

It's an update for the visual voice mail app, and (I believe) their service for it. Meaning added features or something.
You can go THIS THREAD to see info about.

Sprint is adding Voice to text to visual voicemail. You need to opt in for the
service, and there will be a monthly fee, but they are forcing you to update
VVM regardless. If you are on a stock rom, you should have no issues, but
custom roms need the Sprint_App_Updater.apk (which is sometimes removed
from the custom roms). I pulled the required files from NFX's 651.2 rom and
pushed them to my phone, even though I no longer use VVM.

[Q] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) [01/28/2011] questions

How are you guys using voice mail on this rom? Visual voicemail or something else?
Some use Google voice, others are using VVM, myself included.
Method 2 on the Wiki worked for me

VVM is what I use. Working great.
There are lots of folks using the Sprint VVM. There are posts in the wiki on how to install it and get it to work.
I have always used sprint vvm and I couldn't get it to work so I switched to google voice and I love it! Don't think I would go back to vvm
I switched back to VVM cause when I was in Google Voice Mail the phone was taking way to long to go to voicemail it used to ring for ever on the other end...
I use google voice sss well, have sinceas the day I rooted (vvm wouldn't work on the custom rom I used). I don't know about trying to call it as the previous post stated, because between the app and net on my computer, I've always checked and cleared it without having to call.

i set up Google Voice since the VVM mod was only for earlier version of clockwork (not an edify update). GV seems to be working just fin, just need to figure out the test messaging now.
Hey I am using AOSP 2.3.2 and the screen on/off animation is a bit sluggish, anyone else having this issue? I changed the LCD density to 140 like the Wiki said and it still is a bit laggy, any suggestions?
Also my screen scrolling and opening the apps drawer was a little slow and jerky so I got ADW Launcher EX and it fixed the problem. Just thought I would add that if anyone else was having an issue.
BTW love the ROM, I was very happy to see Gingerbread on the hero!

VZ messanger w/ custom ROM

Hey, I recently ran into a problem and have not been able to find a solution with extensive searching.
I would like to interact with iphone group messages, as almost all of my friends in school use the iphone and there are several group messaging threads going around. The only app that I have found that works (I am open to an alternative!) is the VZmessanger. Unfortunately, running Liberty ROM 2.0, after installation I run the app only to receive the error message "SDK Initialization Failed." and the app wont open.
I am sure this has something to do with a custom ROM because it worked when I was on rooted stock. If anyone had any insight it would be helpful.
Handsent works well with iPhone and android both

Visual Voicemail not updating or working right.

I keep getting a notification to update Visual Voicemail, but when I try to update it, it either gives an error or says there is no update available. I'm using the Stock With Goodies rom (4.3), but this was happening with regular stock, too. The notification to update keeps coming back. I'm also not getting all of my voicemails.
Any ideas besides using an alternate voicemail app? I want to use the Sprint voicemail app.

I literally had to click the update option 5+ times before it started downloading,
and then it installed itself.
I got a couple of times where it told me to update, and then said there was no update, but I kept doing it
and never left the screen after it said "download failed" or whatever.
It's working fine for me now.
