If you have a rooted device, go to /data/app maybe some file is left from the last time you downloaded it. At least, that's what the usual solution is for me
Clear your cache/history. If you are rooted there are some good cleaners I use SD maid which is very good and free from play store or here in xda.
Just search forum or use Google to find it

Try clearing the cache of your google play store - services by going to Settings -> Apps -> Find Google Play Store and click it -> Clear Data - Clear Cache -> Reboot
Do the same for Google Play Services(not sure if it is needed but try it )

I've done that for both and force stopped and re started each app as well as re starting several times. Ive also cleared all caches on the device. I've used several diff software to make sure i have my full 2 gigs empty and i do, im gonna try again right now and ill see what happens
so I've tried everything and i still have 2.1gigs of free space but it won't let me install some stuff, what should i do? should i just side load my apps?

so i had to restore my XP because i somehow deleted the dalvik cache but its back to normal now, fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice, guys much appreciated

It's because it needs to be installed in /system/app
Try doing this
Instructions:
*You can try to install this .apk over top of your current market, but it may not work. If it won’t, then you will need to be rooted and follow the instructions below.
1. Download the file from above (Market-3.4.4.apk) to your SD card.
2. In Root Explorer, find the file you just downloaded and copy it.
3. Move into /system/app and hit the R/W button to mount – then paste the file.
4. Find Vending.apk and rename it to something like Vending.apk1.
5. Long press on Market-3.4.4.apk and rename it to Vending.apk.
6. Afterwards, long press on it again and choose “Permissions.”
7. Change the permissions to this:
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Thanks for the post... but i am still having problem buying apps.
Simple translate:
Error
An error occured, please try again.
I get build version 3.3.12 when doing that. is that correct?
I did the same. Then out of exasperation, within root explorer, I ran the APK, was prompted to overwrite my other system app, and I did it. I assume the fixed permissions had something to do with it, but it worked for me.
I noticed a huge difference in speed and loading, well done Google

Can't even open it, keeps FCing. Was it cause I deleted the old vending.apk?

Fix permissions, reboot. Still not working ? Must be kernel problem, not sure. Works for 90% of the people flawlessly.
Problems related to buying apps could be (not asserting) server side problems which many faced during sale.
Well I am running a Trinity kernel, which one do you recommend? I just want my market to work I changed permissions like said in the past posts

Try fixing permissions through Recovery or Rom Manager also.
I'm on the CM9 alpha, & since they announced Google Play Store, I can no longer use the "market" website. It just says that my account doesn't have a device. But when I look at the error that says, "don't see your device," it says:
If you don’t have the Google Play Store app pre-installed on your device, contact your carrier or manufacturer for further assistance.

When I opened the app store this morning it updated me to play store automatically (i'm on aokp). So you can try to wait it out and probably get the update soon.
but to answer your question, that .apk should work.
So you just saw a notification that you were being upgraded or....? Market interface does look different for me, but I don't think the shortcut to launch it has changed.
Are you able to use the Market/Play website?
*Edit - I just fired up Market again to check & got a Google Play Store license agreement. I went to My Apps to check for updates, but still am unable to use the website (from my desktop - still "no device").

Don't try to install it. instead you need to paste it into your system/app folder with permission rw-r--r--. you might want to backup your old market apk just in case something goes wrong.
Mine has yet to update itself too. I found this. Probably going to update.
Just Wipe Cache of Market using Titanium backup and Re-launch it..
It will ask for License thingi.. Click Accept and You will get the Update soon..
Hi there,
I'm on RocketRom v12 (4.0.4 LRT) running notecore 14.1 as standard with this version of the rom.
Last week my gallery suddenly stopped showing my pictures. They're all still on the phone, just not showing up in there. When i take a new pic it doesnt even show it in the gallery after. I looked for .nomedia files, unmounted the sd card, unmountrd then rebooted. I think it might be related to the media scanner because i havent seen it pop up in ages.. Shouldn't it come up at boot? I have files on ext as well as int sdcard both as said none show up in the gallery.
Thanks in advance.

Are you storing the pictures in internal or external SD card?
Can you swap the storage medium for pictures and see if that helps.
If you are like me where factory reset does not really impact the data i have and apps i use, you can factory reset and reinstall the rom to see if that fixes the problem.
Internal mostly. Camera should save them there too.
Im considering a full wipe but im really not sure if itll help.
Cant use the camera properly now so its becoming more urgent for me.

Tried to switch but no good. Can see the pics in a dcm folder on my ext sd
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Few things you can do.
- Completely wipe and factory reset and re-install the rom
- Clear data/cache from the application.
- Media scanner could be in error and this should get fixed with a fresh install
- Remember that only user data is reset during factory reset. This means all applications, messages, call data etc are wiped.
If you have synced your contacts with Google, well and good you should just do a factory reset, wipe data, wipe cache and reinstall the rom. If the problem persist, change ROM to double check if its not a Rom Problem.
Thanks. Ill try all of these tomorrow and ill post the results here

@Kaush666
You may have to see if factory reset helps and install the current nightly. This is the fastest way to check if there is a problem. Other options will take time to diagnose the problem
My issue was solved by a full wipe. Thanks a lot

Which rom are you using ?
since you tried : reinstall, delete and install and clear data issue seems to be rom specific.
Asking question in that rom thread will give quick answer..
AnywaysTry this:
Go to recovery :
Wipe Dalive
Wipe Dalive Cache
Reboot
If it doesnt work after above steps. This is rom specific problem.Either you have to change rom or Request fix for rom developer or live up with this issue or change app.
So many answeres

Hi there
I am hoping someone can assist and perhaps have had the same experience I am currently facing on my Z1 phone. Every now and again I am faced with these pop-up ads and I am not sure where it comes from. I have tried Ad searching tools in the market but it doesn't find anything.
Perhaps it gets pushed over the air, but I would like to find out what is doing it...i want it disabled.

Coming to think of it, perhaps it is BBM for Android?
Have u got Blackmarket installed?

Install Airpush Detector, run it and it will tell you which one of the free apps on your phone is sending you push notifications. Then delete that app.
Airpush didn't detect anything. It happened again and when I look at the running tasks, it says it is 'Android'. I don't have black market installed either.
I had the same popup in the beginning only it was from whattsapp.
Tryin to remember when i got them....

It will if you are on 534.
Anyway, there's an app installed on your phone that names itself as android and it's a fake app.
Try searching in the apps list for anything you suspect that might be it.

No root needed. When u get another of those popups, just pull down the notification bar and keep pressing on that BBM ad message. You should then click on "app info" and from there uninstall it.Proven to work for many!
