I updated to Central Europe 4.3 this morning and all went well but my device seems quite sluggish when initially unlocking it and sometimes just when doing general tasks.
Is there anything I can do to restart my phone properly or will it just settle in time with use? I did it with user data wipe so the phone was started from scratch and it reinstalled all my apps.
I have noticed Google play services is constantly trying to run at the moment and the phone is getting a bit warm but theres no programs I can see that should need to be updating or anything.
Well the cuplrit seems to be the update to google play services (hangouts says it needs an update to get it to work with the most recent version) the updated version constantly keeps data on though and the phone gets hot and eats battery.
Google now says it cant run without the updated version either sadly not tested whether thats for any of it to run or just certain cards.
If anyone has any ideas of fixing this ill give them a try but i can live with an old version if need be.

So I love froyo and for the past week that I've had it (via ota) it has been really great, but today I began having these sudden problems:
I can't install certain apps (market or sideloaded), even though I have plenty of room for them.
Random apps that are normally stable just crash out of the blue.
The phone just keeps slowing down and things are taking longer than they should for both 2.1 and 2.2.
The phone crashed today, meaning it decided to reboot on its own accord, once when I was running a few apps at once (something that I do almost every time I pick up the phone) and was switching between them, the second time was when I had some background processes and I was browsing the web.
I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing these problems, and if you are did it just happen suddenly one day like me or was it from the beginning? I also want to know if anyone has suggestions or a diagnosis that I should consider before emailing google.
Thanks for all the help,
Liam
Try resetting the phone to Factory (Settings-Privacy). Or if you're rooted...Wipe.

Does that wipe apps, settings and all other data, and is there a way to get it all back?
Hello Guys,
Does somebody know what Google Play Edition phones (HTC One M7) uses? And where can I download an apk? I've made the mistake of upgrading to a version from androidpolice and only after that I read that play services are device specific for versions (the numbers after the dash -).
The default version I had was -030 but after I updated manually to 038 I am having huge battery usage. I tried uninstalling to system version and updating back from Google Play, but it installs the 038 version again. Does someone know how can I force it to go to 030 version again?
Does someone with the default Google Play Edition stock ROM tell me what version of Google Play services have installed?
Have you tried rebooting your phone? It usually helps to settle things down. I once did the update from android police too, and experience some battery draining right after the update.
Regarding the version number, and now that you mention it, I have -038 version on my phone. From quite some time though, I haven't updated manually and simply waited for the update to magically happen. At this moment, I'm still on v4.3.25...

Yes, it seems that during the natural course of the updates it went from -030 to -038. So this is the natural normal version the Google Play Edition HTC One should have it seems.
So I guess I need to dig further to figure out why Google Play services is responsible for 69% of battery usage.
My Xt 1068 after the update, hangs various times whenever I play games. I Still haven't mounted a SD card, Should i do that will it boosts the working of my phone. As it has been getting worse day by day and affecting the phone's normal functioning too. I haven't installed anything in it yet. There are only like 5 apps which i have installed from Play store and there is still 8 Gb free. I Don't know why my phone is slow.
That is very normal to happening after the update... to fix do a Factory Data Reset
Factory Data Reset is a tool used to remove everything that was imported, added or installed on the device. Keep in mind, when using this feature everything is deleted. Will be like you just turning it on for the first time, but it will be in the same OS version that it is now...

Chrome frequent crashing, among other apps
Hello, I've been using Android since about 2013, when I picked up an S4 for the AT&T carrier. It was a very nice phone. About 2 months ago I decided to get a Nexus 6. What really has been bothering me is the performance of this phone, compared to the performance I got with an S4. Right now I'm rooted with the most up to date version of Chroma flashed, unencrypted. Frequently Google Chrome will freeze up for a good 8 seconds, and then ask me if I want to terminate the process or wait. Google Maps, Camera, and Firefox also sometimes suddenly crash. I've even had Maps crash while I was using GPS and driving on the road. Is there any way to fix this? Its been occurring since the first week after purchasing this phone. I've checked how much memory is free using multiple apps and I am not low. So I'm wondering if there's a solution. Has anyone else been having this happen to them?
@tenthsun
I would suggest starting by clearing cache for each of the problematic apps. Settings/Apps/All, then choose each each app and clear cache.
If the problem persists, I would then suggest trying going back to stock, rooted and see if it's any better.
Could be rom, kernel, gapp package or installation problem. I would start from scratch.
hey i for a while been haveinga problem with google play constantly crashing whenever i try tio use it after an update and i am constantly haveing to uninstall and "revert to factory version" then it will work for a little bit before the bugger starts to update again, i was hopeing this was only goign to happen for a little bit till newer non crashing version is released but it constantly dose the same thing.
is there anyway to stop this from doing this consistentaly? should i upgrade my rom since one i'm on now discontinued? or better solution to just make this stop, im sure its wreakign havock on the flash memory with constant semi-reinstall of google play app.

My recommendation is to perform a clean installation of Lineage 12.1. Google Play crash issues are a bear to diagnose/remediate. In many cases reflashing the ROM + GAaps the only reasonable solution taking into consideration time and effort. Running with a discontinued ROM doesn't help matters. I realize this isn't the answer you were hoping for but probably the best response short of trying a bunch of things that may or may not work.
