[Q] Xperia SP MAC address change/spoof - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
Can anyone help me please?
I have a rooted xperia sp phone and I don't know how can I change my Mac address:/
I tried Mac Address Ghost, Mac Spoofer and Wireless Mac Address Changer too, but unfortunately after I changed my mac i could not connect to wifi. It says/shows "authentication problem".
I "need" to change it because in our school theres 2 network....one for students (Let's say NetworkA) and one for teachers(NetworkB) and when I arrive school NetworkA is full so i cannot connect to it :/...but there's NetworkB which is nearly empty..and on the other hand it has a wider internet connection. And as you know it is great when you need something from the internet and you have (fast) wifi (that you can connect to).
(Sorry for my english :s )

Hello there , im the owner off Wireless Mac Changer application
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wireless.macchanger
In my app i have provided two ways to the change the mac, if you read the description, the simple way will change the mac but you cant connect to any password protected network cuz of the limitation how it changes the mac, you can choose the hard way , this will let you connect to secured network, but this way may not work on all devices , try to disconnect from the network you are connected to , then change the mac using the hard way

Win
Thanks, I did it without spoofing my mac
I got the routers IP so I made a static IP and it works but thank u again

How to connect XDA IIi to broadband through WiFi connection?

I have BELKIN broadband router (Irish Eircom broadband). Is it possible to connect XDA IIi (alpine) to this router through WiFi connection??? If Yes - Help me!
Yes it is. If the router is on the default settings you just need to touch the antrenna symbol at the bottom of the Today screen, then the green square at the bottom right, then the WLAN box and turn on WLAN.
Does anyone have a guide on how to setup a secure connection between PC & Phone on WI-FI?
It's baffling the heck out of me!

Depends on the router, what ya got?
I dont have a router, I have a WI-FI PCI card and my router is conected via ethernet
So you are trying to set up an ad-hoc connection.
You need to set your wireless on both the computer and the PDA to ad-hoc.
To do this on the PC depends on your operating system and device. Set up your wireless connection on the PC first making sure it is set up as an ad-hoc network.
On your XDAIIi Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Network Cards
You should see the network you have set up on the PC, make sure the ad-hoc box is ticked and connect to it.
You may have to set the TCP/IP settings manually. If you have a problem with doing that post up what you have done and how far you have got.
Yes, I'v got a connection! But NetFront_v3.2 says "Cannot read page." So, i can not surf Internet.

Do you have the DHCP server turned on on the router?
Yes1 DHCP server IS turned on on the router.
OK, when you are connected and you click on the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom of the screen, does the network address match that of the router or has it set a default one?
Internet Connection Sharing
Depeding on your OS (is it windows/linux etc.) you'll nmeed to set up some form of proxy server or other packet forwarding to persuade the machine to accept packets on the WiFi card and to forward them to the Internet.
If you are using XP (or from memory 2K) you can switch on Internet connection sharing, follow the wizard and then browse to your hearts content.

Hi,
I also have a laptop with build-in Wifi and a qtek 2020i. I've shared the lan connection on the laptop and created a wirelles network. The laptop and qtek 2020i see each other but i can't surf on the qtek. i have windows XP.
The ip address on the qtek is fixed by default and is supposed to be 192. etc i read somewhere...
I use a modem/routeur (thomson 530) on which the laptop is connected (lan).
Could you please explain me how should i setup or manuallay choose the ip on my qtek?
Many thanks
john

perhaps i'll give that a try, it might work for me, i hope it does as i'm not having much luck
Hi Guys,
This is starting to get confused - there are two types of connection being set up here: -
Firstly a cabled connection between the PC and the router with a wireless card in the PC. in this instance you need to forward the packets from the wireless card to the ethernet card and then onto the router.
In this case, if you are using Windows 2K or XP use the Internet connection sharing wizard, this will then enable packet forwarding on your PC, with a "DHCP server" (not fully functional) on the wireless card, when you establish the Ad Hoc (set exactly the same SSID on both cards - remember it's case sensitive and that should be all you need for Ad-Hoc) wireless connection between the 2020i and the PC you should then find that you are assigned an IP address (192.168.0.x is the default from memory). You should then have the IP address of the Wireless Interface Card on the PC set as your default gateway and DNS server - you need each of these entries in order to able to connect to the Internet.
If you want to secure this connection, you can use WEP (40 bit or 128 bit Same Key same position on both SSID configs), though remember that if a sniffer collects about 300K packets, it is possible to use AirCrack to regain the wep key - paranoid but true.
If you have a wireless gateway, this should (in all probability) already have a DHCP service up and running on it (it's probably giving your PC all of the IP settings it needs) so all you should need is to establish a connection between these two devices. Switch wireless on on the 2020 and you should be prompted with a message box saying Your_SSID connects you to and offer you work and Internet, select Internet if there is a WEP key or other form of encryption enabled you will be prompted for a key. In theory you will have set all of this up on the router in the first place so probably have some idea of what you are doing.
Hope this helps, if not feel free to throw abuse.
Kind Regards
Dave
try this link:
http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page1090.html
I tried it last night and it got it working in about 5 minutes!! was well pleased . I'm using the infrastructure mode, got a XDAIIi and a D-Link G604T. I dont have any authentication setup, the only thing I use is the MAC based access list, so I had to add the XDA MAC into the router access list and for the rest I followed what the above link said.
Tip: make sure you do a reset for the settings to take effect, did'nt realise thats why it took me five minutes!

in my university there is one way to connect to wifi in laptops that you make a pppoe connection in laptop and give a username and password to your pppoe connection that you give from university manger....
i dont know how to connect to this kind of wifi in my galaxy s??/
when i turn on wifi it says that unsuccessful......please help me

PLZ help us
if even there is no way plz say to us. ..
does the uni offer any alternate instructions, ie. for connecting from linux computers? or iphones?
they dont know anything....
can we make connection in android that connect to wifi with username and password?
the usual way is that only with one password......
I think you will not have much ability to do PPPOE with the Galaxy S. You would need a PPPOE client on the Galaxy handset.
I think, we ourselves must create a program for android For this ...!

Why dont you try to set your MAC adress then? But if it doesnt work with any ROM, what about your wifi device, might it be broken? Did you already try to connect to other wifi networks? Did it work there? What channel does your router use? Maybe change it to another (between 1-10 I would say) one and try again?
Happy answering and testing

I think that wifi device is not broken, bcuz i connect 4-5 time in 2 days... but page from browser not open... maybe 100-200kb download and stuck... then disconnect...
how to rewrite the address in the etc / wifi / nvram.txt ... I tried with root manager and busybox tutorial from this forum but without success
EDIT: i made some progress... in router settings i change to United States (even I am in Europe - Bosnia) and channel 9... connect each time but not open any page in browser ???
The address in nvram.txt is a dummy MAC address and should interfere with the actually MAC address once it's fully powered on.

The mac address in nvram.txt is dummy address. It's only used if it fails to get proper MAC address or haven't got it yet.
Perhaps it's hardware issue.

Connected to Wi-Fi but cant access internet

I have bought my Xperia SP last week of august.I have recently got a TeraCom TDSL300W2 Wireless Router which I use for connecting to my PC via username and password manually(It is in bridge mode).I had configured the wireless settings and got the XSP to connect to it via a password, but I am unable to access the internet through any browser,app...etc...
I can access my internet on the PC but no the phone. What is really happening? Is there any way to delete this connection and create a new one..
Please help or my new router has been bought for nothing..Give me as many answers as possible..
Do you tried to use wifi on laptop or different phone?
I think u bad conected this router in bridge. I see the MAC is deactivated, I think there u have to write the MAC of the other router for be syncronised with this one. This will help ya maybe: HERE and they explain in comments how conect it in bridge more or less
