Wow! I cant believe MIUI v5 is here for the Bionic
Great to see miui for bionic... But 4.2.2 seems like a relatively old android base, doesnt it? Is this really 4.2 JB based or 4.4.2 KK?

MIUI v5 is 4.2.2 based. That is kinda strange but it is what it is. I am still hoping someone build ChaOS for Bionic since it is open source and the theme engine is MIUI based and ChaOS is now 4.4.2 based.
EDIT: I guess that 4.4 KITKAT MIUI will be released in February sometime for Nexus 5
Is it safe to flash to stock or only for ROM slot?

I can do a quick Chameleon OS if people really want it, it's much less involved than this is lol.
I'm a member of the MIUI porting team over at en.miui; I am forking MIUI to every Moto device I can build for and yes, weekly updates will come over here too once source building is done
That would be awesome. Thanx.

Ok guys, I've finished all the FW stuff for MIUI and just must complete a kernel.
I notice Kernel is handled a bit differently on this phone, how does your phone handle them? I need to add Shelld and LBESEC to init.rc and make edits in default.prop
Once the kernel for this phone is finished it's done, but I noticed you folks don't have the usual boot.img... are you using stock kernel over here?
Zomg....... I love you.....

This phone's bootloader is locked so that we can not edit boot partition .We use kexec to hot-reload a third part kernel. So you can find its kernel and ramdisk file in

Happy to hear that ! Actually, these Motorola OMAP devices are all using kexec to bypass locked boot and recovery partition(We use a apk called SafeStrap by hashcode).
Then another way to bypass locked bootloader on some LG and Samsung devices is :loki
Their boot.img is patched with this tool:
https://github.com/djrbliss/loki
Hope this will be helpful on your porting works.....
EDIT: Would you please share me with your CM base ROM for droid bionic after your porting for MOTO devices is done via private message ?

Hey guys!
I was just curious if this could be done and apparently it can so I'm just sharing the apk here.
It basically does what the title says, it enables multiple users on the Samsung I9300.
This apk was made from the latest nightly build of CM10.1 for the I9300.
UPDATE 19/01:
I have updated framework-res.apk using the 2013/01/18 nightly build of CM10.1
Changed ROM to ParanoidAndroid. View attachment framework-res.apk
Changing the theme will cause the phone to crash when switching users. Reason unknown.
UPDATE 31/12:
I have created a flashable zip file that works with ClockWorkMod, though its untested as I haven't had time.
I have also uploaded new screenshots. Another update will be coming soon with an updated CM10.1
UPDATE 28/12:
I have updated the framework-res.apk using the CM10.1 nightly build.
With this update comes a restyled Lockscreen that will look nicer.
You may notice that it also doesn't interfere with widgets anymore.
PLEASE NOTE: This mod only works on Android 4.2 and higher! This mod has only been tested on Cyanogenmod 10.1!
Cheers!

Well...
if this mod allows multiple users like windows accounts, then there is another app on market called "switch me users root". It allows us to do everything.
I am not spamming this thread but i want to know what are its advantages and features over the app as mod looke interesting and i dont want to reply on an app. This mod will be great for me.

I'm sorry but I couldn't find an app with that exact name, though I found one called SwitchMe Multiple Accounts (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme).
If you examine it carefully its not actually multi-user, it pretends to be by saying different people are logged in but all users can access each others files.
This mod enables the Google-built multi-user environment on your Samsung I9300 which is true multi-user by allowing each user to have their own apps, settings and files separated from one another. (http://www.android.com/whatsnew/ its a tablet feature enabled on a phone.)
I hope this clears things up!
Cheers!

As I mentioned this mod merely enables a Google-built feature, any changes are made by Google or the Cyanogenmod team. In saying that, yes, there is a password system, it works just like an ordinary lockscreen password.

- copy APK to /system using Root Explorer or any other file manager with root access
- now set correct permissions (rw-r--r--)
- move and replace APK to /system/framework
- reboot
OP: thanks for this mod
how to set correct permissions.i'm new to this didn't get pls explain........
I was experimenting with this last week and noticed a few things working on my own solution:
Phone app doesn't work, can't place a call on another user. Source of phone app checks for userid == 0.
Using the user switcher tile tries to load the multi user view widget, which is missing. So adding it manually on the lock screen is a bad idea as it interferes with the widget space.
Have you looked into this?

The lock screen widgets at the moment are kinda useless so the user switcher is placed on top, but this is noted in the first post.
As for the phone app, if you can send me the exact location of that code (file and line) then I can take a look at it but I make no promises to get it working.
Well I started working on this last week on Tuesday, but got hold up due to x-mas etc.
When I'm home I'll show you the exact lines where it checks, I'm not sure why it checks for userid 0. Maybe just leaving it out will make it work.
I don't think that the widget is useless, overlaying the switcher is just ugly and hackish. If you put the switcher into a widget the android way it would be a much better solution.
It's also the reason why I hadn't put up a topic on xda. Because my solution right now makes any widgets on the lock screen get an offset and I'd rather get the widget working so if you use the tile switcher it doesn't add a non existing one (square with a plus sign).
Just my two cents

Overview
This is MIUIv5 ported from the Razr XT926, this devices twin. It has not been optimized with an updated anykernel and it's suggested one is placed in this rom after install.
MIUIv5 4.1.2 Download
(07/16/13) MIUIv5 3.5.31
Working
-Everything, beside MIUI native Camera and some areas, LTE
-Use a newer anykernel to resolve any artifacting or USB trouble.
Patch-Apps FAQ
Download: http://d-h.st/u0l
Q: Patch Apps?
A: They're MIUI APKs built with Patchrom for use with this device specifically for a smoother and more efficient experience
Q: How do I Install?
A: Extract the APKs to a folder on your SD card and install them via the Package Manager manually, one at a time.
Expect FCs during this, but after a reboot everything will be perfectly stable!
Q: Do I have to do this for the Rom to work?
A: No, but It's suggested because It makes for a smoother and 'better' experience, It's best to be as close to native as possible.
MIUI General FAQ
Q: Why is G-Apps not listed for Download?
A: Too Bloaty, add a Google account and install the play store as an APK, I suggest using Aptoide to find it.
Q: LTE isn't working
A: Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> Select an APN with a Bearer that says 'LTE'
Q: Help! Phone/SystemUI/Keyboard Isn't working/Is Force Closing!
A: Make sure to do a completely clean wipe, also I'm not sure how well this will work if flashed in CWM.
Q: The Browser looks terrible.
A: Settings -> Advanced -> User agent string -> MiOne (It Renders much better & more naturally!)
Q: Where is the Weather Widget?
A: I didn't include it, as it does not support North America. :l use 'Weather BZ' from the Play Store, It is a full replacement for Xiaomi weather and themes with this rom.
Q: My Filesystems won't mount/My PC can't see my device/My phone won't act as a MTP/USB Mounting isn't working!
A: Settings -> Developer Options -> Enable Development / USB Debugging (switch both to on)
Misc.Notes
-If flashed in TWRP the rom will ask to install SuperSU, do not Install SuperSU as MIUI has it's own root management application.
-Airplane mode works, but will restart all applications running on the phone, turning it back off does not do this.
-The Sim Card pop-up is inherent to this version, It is cosmetic and does not actually do anything.
v5 Final Build Notes
This Rom will boot & work on the Atrix HD and It's suggested (though not needed) that you replace the kernel with a more updated version if available for your device, Operator error has nothing to do with me.
Gonna try this. How is the battery life?

It's average in comparison with CM10 and so on, It's good if you consider that MIUIv5 has as much going on as iOS in terms of it's motion, how it moves and feels and so on; the hit to battery life won't be huge but you will not experience gains in battery life with a rom like this either

This is a port of MIUIv5 based on the SIII, everything is functional as far as I know on the RazrHD XT926, which as far as I know

Working
Everything afaik
Bugs
Bugs are all cosmetic
- If your wipe isn't clean enough, Sim will not be detected, re-wipe and flash again.
- Does not correctly label 'Verizon' as carrier

Ok status report. Flashed perfectly and everything worked great until 20 minutes ago. The back key stayed stuck on the down arrow when exiting the keyboard. I restarted to fix it and it brought me to the sim unlock code screen so I had to boot into fastboot and then recovery to wipe cache which fixed the problem. Btw dont mess around with the performance it causes lag if you choose powersave cpu with noop scheduler.

I guess It's worth nothing that the SIII settings actually in some cases do things, my suggestion is to not mess around with them if possible.
You'll have to find a different weather provider, I try to get this working though I know people love it, but MIUIchina doesn't support the US so both weather widgets are not working

Any work around for the "sim toolkit" ,default message, no/yes?
Shows up all the time.
Deleting stk.apk (sim tool kit) (Edit) works Better to just rename to ...apkk
Also speedtest : only at 3g or less.
I am on VZW.
Just amazing!!
Readable status bar.
Is this indeed 4.1.2 not 4.2.2?
412.
I flashed the Bytecode kernel.
Works better maybe.
Edit breaks wifi.
Again Amazing.

Best Rom Yet...
BEST Rom yet for Droid Razr M xt907
Yes it does have some bugs but afterwards its fast and decent battery life.
Here is how I made MiuiV5 the best i can be.
Important things
1st I installed the Google Play store app.
2nd I used Root Uninstaller to uninstall sim toolkit app because it kept poping up making phone unusable. All I uninstall a couple of other feature I though were annoying. Be careful I recommend diabling things first and see how your phone works then uninstall if you are FULLY CONFIDENT THAT IT WONT MESS UP YOUR Phone.
3rd I uninstalled the gallery and both camera and installed The 4.2 camera and gallery pack.
4th Because Miui doesn't support sdcard in camera app I used FolderMount to link the DCIM on internal to DCIM on my external and You can do it with more folders although only 3 link are supported on free version.
5th and finally If your WiFi misses up install a root explorer or something similar and will not connect then turn off WiFi and go to root/data/misc/dhcp and delete dhcpcd-wilan0 lease. Then your WiFi will start working again. You will have to do this every time you wipe cache and dalvik.
Extra stuff
Installed Musicfx as there is no equalizer
installed Flashplayer with firefoxbeta
installed Setcpu setup profiles to add battery life
Installed pimp my ROM make the ROM faster and improve battery life

Any work around for the "sim toolkit" ,default message, no/yes?
Shows up all the time.
Deleting stk.apk breaks data.
Also speedtest : only at 3g or less.
I am on VZW.
Just amazing!!

Yes, It's being worked on now.
If you folks could tell me what kernels you generally prefer I can mod them for use with this rom so people have more options, The next revision of this will see a bump in stability and speed in general

Did the SIMtoolkit removal. No more issues. Typical couple reboots to stabilize it. Everything else didn't really need. WiFi works fine for me. Thanks for the tip.
and Awesome port. been waiting for this since my HTC inspire.

great job! I've been waiting for this too long! although MIUI is not as smooth as CM10 ,but the UI is very wonderful ,Keep on working on this rom, thank you!
jekovenatinsley , Tquetski ....
Thanks
You guys might Know why the messaging shows after the lock screen?
Just delete the app?
Edit I was swiping right and selecting it
Also the sim card Pin (not the toolkit problem): choose/dimiss: which app is that? I already deleted the stk.apk.
Please PM me to Beta test if interested

1. Common Issue in MIUIv5
2. Resolved as of latest revision
3. Resolved w/ 3rd party English MIUI weather
4. I don't know about this one
5. Bad Resolution base
6. Bad Resolution base
The biggest issue here is that this rom uses the 926s base but does not have the same resolution as the 926, so layouts are not rendering the correct way, It's inevitable that I will need a new 'base rom' for this device, I'm working on it
I miss MIUI. I sure hope this project takes off and gets solid enough for a daily driver. Thank you for your work on this!
hope the new base rom come out soon!
Running through a few tests for ya. looking into different bases for some of the issues. Im still running it as a DD so running and working with bugs. Gonna see if I can streamline them for ya.

This has to be the best build that I have tried of AOSP. Everything I've tested has worked perfectly. Using the latest 4.3 thorovukk kernel and man this thing is flying! Sprint vvm backup from tb works as well. GPS locks fast. LTE is blazing fast. Couldn't get ir blaster working but I may need a compatible version of smart remote. Is it enabled? Also, is there a setting or way to take screen shots? Great ROM. Gonna use this for a bit and see how it runs. Thanks for this!

It works. I purchased the official so from the play store. It's on sale for $6.99 right now so to me it was worth it. It works with all of my TV's. This thing is flawless for me so far. Will any new features be added like active display? Haven't used that yet personally but I was wanting to check it out. Thanks for such a stable build.

Yup just tested hot spot.. Did it two times, even on the new build you won't see till the am eastern time .. And kinda solved.... Kinda...
I turned on hotspot ( I pay for it through Verizon), my phone hot booted, I turned on hotspot again, no hot boot.... On my at&t atrix 2 looked for the AndroidAP network ... None... Decided to add the network manually to the atrix 2, and poof, connection and fast.. I think its a hidden network .. I'll look into this...

After a few days of use I must say that I am really enjoying this rom. Its snappy, polished and is packed with the killer PA features one would expect. The new hover feature is very convenient and I actually forgot how much I like PA's PIE controls in immersive mode.
The one thing that doesn't seem to be functioning is the Peek feature. Hopefully its sorted out soon!

Move apps to SD card?
Does this ROM allow moving apps to the SD card? I've had some issues with this since Google removed this feature with KK. Had Wifi issues on Cyanogen. Couldn't move apps to SD card on Gummy; looked all over for a fix, too. Getting frustrated about finding a ROM that has the functional features I'm looking for. Thanks.

Flashed the ROM !
Great ROM..... Everything is great .... No problem in running
So here is pros and cons of this ROM
Pros
Sleek
No hangs or hicups
Everything's is running perfect
Many themes available (my fav lg g3 ROM)
Bluetooth,gsm,3g working with data
PA funstions very good
Cons
Screens recording( hangs and restarts)
WiFi(works on some routers but doesn't work with my friend phone hotspot stuck on obtaining IP)
Always awake due to NFC service
Battery depletes more due to always awake but not that quickly
Camera quality not that much good
Major flaw !
NFC service always awake and makes battery drain quickly and also can't turn off nfc its always on doesn't turn off tried many times it's the only flaw in this ROM.
Pls fix this problem or upload a patch to disable nfc permanently I don't even use nfc. Except this everything runs fine
