The latest update got rid of the Sony notification sounds and replaced them with stock androids, which is all well and good, but I would still like to have them. Anybody have them in a zip?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Just head over to the android development section, download any older version of roms like 4.2, unzip it, locate the system folder/ media/audio/notifications, should be one of those Ogg files. Use root explorer or of your choice and move that or those Ogg files and replace your current ones or add and rmb to set the correct permissions.

My bad.
It's not my phone. A friend told me the update removed the playstation sounds and I took that to mean sound notification. I guess he's looking for the haptic feedback sound? I'm pretty sure changing the haptic feedback sound would require root, so he's SOL.
Yes, changing the UI sounds does require root.
Just in case you need them in future, here's a (non-flashable) zip of them all - Xperia_Z_UI_sounds.zip - 65.33 KB

yea that ui clicking sound is only one file and requires root.
if your friend is planning to root
system/media/audio/ui/ "effect_tick.ogg"
thats the only file you need to replace with the older effect_tick.ogg the permission of rw-r-r. or just flash the above file :good:

When taking a video with the stock rom the phone plays a sound when starting and ending the recording. It does this even when the phone is set top silent. Is there a way to make it obey my volume settings? If not how can I disable the sounds?

in stock rom I had a setting for disabling sound, are you sure you don't have that?

You can't do this easily. AndiCP made a camera mod that is silent, search in app section, but keep a nandroid backup before flashing it, and I don't remember if it is adapted for stock ROM.
Camera.apk has all sounds.
You can mod by yourself or use Andicp's mod.

I'm guessing you need to reboot since the OS might have preloaded the file on its buffer.
All - you do no this sound (pic/vid) is required by law in some countries right?
Just some codec sounds I found then tweaked to be quite a lot quieter for phone use and changed to .ogg format (originals are included in case you want to alter them yourself).
http://www.filesonic.com/file/1219291954/codec_open+close.zip
To install them you can use an app from the Market called Lockscreen Sound Change.
Forgot to add, this requires root.
Or you can install them yourself.
The locations of each file are
Lock.ogg
Unlock.ogg
at 'system\media\audio\ui'
You can probably replace them using Terminal commands (haven't tried it myself), or you can add them to the ROM before you flash it.
Hope this is of use to anyone, I think it really goes well with the on off animations.
These sounds awesome. At the moment I am using a transformer, transforming sound as my unlock sound and reversed it for my lock sound. They're longer than these tones but still good, also lowering the volume makes them bearable for longer lol
Good work on sharing these and i'll probably use them when i get bored of my transformer ones.

Hi guys and girls,
My question is exactly what the title says, can you force beats audio to always be on for what your ringtone/ notification tones.
I've had a search on here but couldn't find any answers.
Thanks in advance!

I think that's a completely different issue. The difference between beats on and off is not as drastic as when you set a song as a ringtone and when you play it from the music player. I noticed how crappy it is too, but don't know why it's like that. I actually found this thread by doing a search for a fix, but no help so far.
Maybe dragging and dropping music files from your computer via USB to their respective locations would work. I'm sure the problem is in the mp3 to ringtone format conversion process.

Well if you can make a lightweight app that plays a silent sound in the background at all times (enabling beats 24/7) then it should work. That's the only way I've found to get it working.
It will cause battery drain though....how much exactly I don't know.

It will make the phone not go into deep sleep... This is a lot of battery drain i think...
There must be a trigger to enable beats with every sound.... But i dont know where to find it.
If we make the apk responsable ( dont know wich maybe prizm.apk?) A user app. Would this change something?
Every other app downloaded is using beats and these are all user apps.
How can we change the system apps into user apps?

System apps use beats too. I moved a few apps to system to see if any difference but no.
My guess though would be to try and mod the audio policy.conf
Or maybe mod the htcmusicenhancer.apk

Could be a framework thing but I haven't taken the time to decompile the One's framework yet. Other than that I got nothing. I asked over on the ViperOne thread to see if it could be added into the rom. Now to wait and see if the dev can/wants to do it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one interested in seeing this happen wish I could be more help but I know nothing about war you's are talking about haha

Definitely looking for this feature as well. Even for me, who's not really good at distinguishing music quality notice how different the music plays as ringtone and in Music Player with Beats On.
I've noticed this before too. I also noticed that, on maximum volume, the phone plays ringtones louder than music. I think the phone makes ringtones sound worse (through reducing bass) so it can play the ringtone louder than it would play music, and not have distortion.
I don't think there will be a solution for this...
I have modified my custom ringtone a bit so it sounds nicer then before. So I can live with it.

Do you have Viper installed as a normal app or did you push to /system/app? Only reason I ask is back on my HD & M it was hit or miss when I just installed it. Once i actually pushed it to /system/app is worked like a charm.

That may be a limitation of 4.2.2 then because the version of Assist in the Play Store allows you to respond to text messages by voice.
Again the differences you are seeing are differences in the OS itself not the apps. The apps are now updated separately through the Play Store. There is no 4.4 or 4.2.2 versions of those apps.
