I have an HTC one, rooted, unlocked, S-ON. I just installed CM11, but I'm not liking the feel of it, and it kept saying "com.google.android.phone" has stopped responding, and this would show up every 10 seconds, and I had no service at all. I reinstalled it for right now and it seems to be working fine, but I want to switch back to Sense 5.5, with root. I have an recovery in TWRP, but the method I used to get CM11, I had to flash clockwork mod to it, and when I tried to use TWRP (2.6.0.0 or 2.3.6.0, cant remember) it wouldnt let me use the touch screen. I want to know the easiest/most reliable way to revert to sense. I think I can reflash the latest version of TWRP that i used to root my phone, but i havent done it yet. Will flashing twrp and restoring from a twrp recovery revert me back to stock sense? im on a CM11 nightly.
Any help would be very much appreciated! I thought I'd like it, but I think i'll stick to sense and use rooted apps, haha.
I also do have HTC sync manager with a backup on there. just trying to find some help.
also, could i do the adb restore backup.ab method or no? I dont have any of my contacts right now

First things first. TWRP is broken. Don't use it. Second, I need more info on how to get you back to stock. Are you S-OFF? Are you on windows for a computer? What version is your HBOOT

I have an unlocked sprint htc one on 1.31 Hboot 1.44. The current operating system will randomly reboot and has a black wallpaper and no lockscreen. I tried flashing earlier firmware versions (not realizing I was firmware 1.31). I cant gain s off nor can I flash any rom. My superuser was installed and I tried superSU. I need some way of returning to stock or getting to a rom. It might not be letting me flash a rom because I don't have root permission even though I keep flashing the SU, I think that because when im trying to gain s off it wont let me. My backup got borked in all these process. Any suggestions?
Oh and what might have caused all these pitty issues is I accidentally selected factory reset in the hboot instead of the recovery.

This happened to me when I first got the phone... I did an ruu and did the whole root and unlock process again.
Im so screwwwweeddd i was trying to flash a "100% stock rom" for thr sprint htc from this link here
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
and now, the rom booted up and its just stuck at the lock screen i got 4g and im getting notifcations but i cant even reboot, manual reboot or anything just keeps saying, hold on power for 1 second and im holding forever and nothing!!
Touch doesnt work and i was coming from ecliptic rom yes my phone has unlocked bootloader and i selected the option to not root
PLEASE HELP!!
I used the latest file, my touch doesnt work at all is there anyway to control the screen without having to touch it ?
It must be a 4.1.2 ROM. Your touchscreen doesn't work cause you need the old drivers for 4.1.2 If you just want a stock rom run a ruu. This is the latest http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508907

yeah i knew about ruu's thing is you cant ruu on mac.
Heres what i did though, since touch wouldnt work. i had to adb everything. and Re-root this thing again, and flash TWRP again, touch still wouldnt work nor was i able to unlock the screen but luckily i had a cm11 zip lying around, i loaded it up deleted the usual data , cache etc, and it booted to cm11 with working touch!
took 6 hours to figure it out.. but i did it!

It's what I said. You wanted to flash a 4.1.2 ROM, but you are on the latest firmare. Your touch didn't work cause 4.1.2 needs the old firmware (touch pannel driver). If you still want that ROM you need to downgrade your firmware (you must be s-off) than flash the old firmware. If you want to stick with newer ROMs 4.3 and above you are ok. You can't do many things with a mac so you must install VirtualBox and than make a Windows virtual machine.

I had rooted my device HTC One M8 (Sprint), and while attempting to flash the Venom ROM I deleted my stock OS as well as my backup. I am able to reboot into reboot into TWRP recovery and fast boot usb is recognized. However while attempting to use commands on terminal (Mac and PC) nothing is responsive. The only thing I can think of is trying to flash the stock Harmond ROM since there is no stock ROM for Sprint's regular M8 posted online yet. Another problem I have is to flash the Harmond ROM I would have to have S-Off, but unfortunately mine turned back on after I wiped everything. I was told by another person to side load a ROM but like I said commands are not working. I have also tried flashing from installing them on my external SD, but all the ROMS I have found require to have S-Off. Please help and tell me I am not completely screwed.
You don't need S-off to flash any of the ROM's here. S-off is preferred if you're able to obtain it on your device, but it's not required. Use the mount option in TWRP to move a ROM from your PC to your phone, then flash the ROM like normal. Don't forget to make a backup once you're done getting things set up.

I installed two different Harman stock RUU's onto my SD card and got activity on the boot loader screen loading them. Then after the forced reboots it would just send me into the white HTC starting screen and wouldn't do anything after that. Also tried two of the Venom ROMs but the touch screen as well as the volume up/down do not allow you to select continue to proceed the flash process. After doing some research Sprint carriers, which I am have the same issue. Have also tried Revolution and Badboy from my SD card and nothing came from them.
You have to have SuperCID to run the HK RUU. See the thread for more info. For the touch issue in Aroma, check out the thread in the link below:

Hi everyone, I 've successfully installed cm11 using Qbking77 tutorial with the CyanogenMod Installer on my htc one but after having some problems with music playback and battery life I've decided to go back to stock.
I've successfully relocked the phone but I can't find the exact Ruu file for my phone and I've tried with other similar ruu but had no luck.
The phone is S On HBBOOT-1.57.000 RADIO -4T.29.3218.08 OS-6.09.401.5
The phone is also stuck in boot loop and recovery mode does not work.
I have found a guy with a similar problem in this site and someone told him to try to run the firmware first and then try to flash TWRP, now the problem is after downloading the firmware file when typing the cmd command adb reboot bootloader it says that it can not find any devices. I'm not really sure what to do now.
Any help appreciated!!!thanks

Firstly, have you enabled usb debugging on your phone? And have you downloaded the most up to date adb drivers and the most up to date HTC drivers?
Because you are s on you cannot flash to downgrade your firmware
Also as your bootloader is now relocked, you cannot flash TWRP either. The bootloader needs to be unlocked to flash custom recovery
There is no RUU available for your phone, so the best option is either a guru reset which will also install stock recovery, or a nandroid backup

about the usb debugging if you are talking before the boot loop happened, yes I had it enable.
I'm gonna try one of those options to see if it works and then I'm gonna report back to let you know what happened.
btw thank you for the reply.

You are welcome, haven't fixed anything yet but come back here again with how things are going
The only way your going to get any function from adb is through recovery, using the sideload method. You should get yourself TWRP and flash using fastboot, then boot to recovery and side load a stockish rom, say viperone or the like. I choose not to run CM or any other AOSP rom for the reasons you listed in OP among others. I currently run ViperOne comming from CM and the battery life is not even comparable. Going back to stock is going to be tough per with your version of hboot s-off is not an easy task as of yet.

I'm quite new to this things so I don't understand much about it, but do you recommend installing a different rom rather then going back to stock? to be honest after all these problems I've had with cm11 I would prefer going back to stock :/

You need to unlock your bootloader first via HTC dev and then flash TWRP recovery
Reboot to recovery and choose to sideload a Rom via adb - download a sense Rom of your choice. There are plenty to chose from
Unfortunately, your going to have a difficult time going back to "Stock." You can use a custom recovery to flash a "Stock" rom, as stovie_steve mentioned, a sense rom. To you the phone will be "Stock" the only difference here is your warranty is void .

I unlocked the bootloader and rebooted the phone and everything seems to work fine. But now I don't know what I should do... Now I don't think that I want to go back to stock because it looks a bit difficult and I might end up doing something wrong and brick my phone. Is the viper rom good? I've got cm11 but as I said the battery is draining fast and I still got the music playback problem. Is it hard to install another rom? If it's not I'll probably do it.

Step 1: download a sense based ROM - ARHD, viper one, insertcoin etc onto your phone
Step 2: flash latest TWRP
Step 3: flash the ROM you downloaded
Step 4: **optional** to obtain s off, use firewater or sunshine
Thanks for the help I'm probably gonna try to install the viper one

Personally, ViperOne is the only sense based rom I will use. Its loaded with goodies and stable as they come. But there will be no harm in flashing many roms until you find something you like. Try Viper, do some shopping around, simply do a backup and flash whatever.. dont like it restore your back up. Just remember to have a current back up always. I keep ViperOne and CM installs on the sd as well as backups of both, never know what mood I be in, have the 64GB so I dont mind 5-10GB tied up by these things. Its up to You but Yes I recommend ViperOne,
Hi, I did a lot of things with my One Mini 2 and I actually really don't know what to do anymore... So much options and yet there always seems to be a problem. Let me explain everything.
What I did:
-flashed a custom rom, then went back to a stock rom of this forum
-flashed the dt2w kernel, it messed up my phone so I then flashed the liberty one, which worked
But with the liberty one I had some memory problems, for exemple I couldn't take screenshots... That's why I decided that I wanted to put my phone just as it was when I bought it, I really hope that's possible, by that I mean having official firmwares etc, therefore being able to do official upgrades from my phone (is that what OTA is?).
I looked on internet and it looks like what I need is RUU, as it includes everything (from what I understood)... I know a lot of threads were made about this, but quite a few months ago, so that's why I'm making a new one, and to make things clear.
Also, I downloaded an official kernel from htcdev.com, but each time I tried flashing it with TWRP, it "failed".
So, if you guys have an answer, solution or, in best case, the actual RUU, that would be great.
Thanx

Still no RUU's avaiable as HTC wont release them. your best option is to use TWRP backup and restore.
Original stock backup
Thank you, but my backup kind of disappeared... I saw your post where there was the "HTC Original Backup.zip", I tried to flash but again it failed... Am I supposed to flash it as a backup?

You need to send it as it is to your phone and use TWRP > restore. choose file and done.
Thanx so much for answering... I uses the backup you told me to. Although I had to use the "install" option instead of the backup one, it now works perfectly! But how do I know if my phone is "official"? Are the upgrades going to be made straight from the phone?

Yes OTA updates should work just fine. just look for updates in settings>about >software update.
you may have one for polaris office.
Hi, I just want to check this too before I screw up wife's phone..
She has CM12 on her phone now as I replaced recovery as well as unlocking bootloader. Now she wants it back to stock as too many things crash on her. I get that I can install your backup but what worries me is that other posts have said you need the stock recovery to allow for OTA updates to work and the link to this no longer works.
She MUST have OTA updates or my balls will be removed, so can you please confirm this, but also explain why.
Thanks (on behalf of my testicles and unborn children!)
(Oh, and she wants it unrooted ant the bootloader relocked)
