Poor gaming performance - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone else have issues with the performance of games on their HTC one?
A lot of games on my HTC One drop frames and are just jerky to play compared to my nexus 4.
Even basic games like flappy bird stutter and drop frames where it's perfectly smooth on the nexus.

Finally a Game that shows what the Adreno 205 can do

did you guys try, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline HD
holy! i was expecting a botched version, but turned out nothing was left out from the iphone 4 version, all the effects, reflections, sun flares are there and the frame rate is flawless
its all thanks to the xperia play, since we have the same processor, we received a good conversion, i heard some SGS users complaining about theirs
i seriously didn't know our desire HD is capable of such things
This game rocks our gpu. i was bored of asphalt 4 because of the steering and mostly the graphic.

I have GT Racing HD too, great game! Got it along with Nova (awesome!) and GangstarMV (terrible) for £1 each when Gameloft were having a Valentines sale.
I will definitely have to check out Asphalt 5 too though!
Can't wait to see more games coming, worth the €2

Choppy/imprecise movement in games

Hey everyone,
I have been playing games like Shadowgun (non tegra optimized version), Mass Effect and Dead Trigger, and the games look and run great except for one issue... the frame rate appears very choppy when doing slow/precise movements with the right thumb. For example, when I load up Shadowgun or Mass Effect and just slowly move my right thumb to move the camera, the movement is not smooth at all. The camera moves in a large choppy imprecise way. Is this normal? Am I just expecting too much out of this device? If its not normal how do I fix it?

I posted about this in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29095910&postcount=44
I fixed most of the issues when I installed a CM10 kang.
The only issue I have noticed since is what you're describing. The screen chops a bit with very slow precise movements. I wonder if that's just how it is on this LCD panel.
Interesting... I don't think my issue is dead spots necessarily. I looked at your video in the other thread and I don't have that problem. Mine is more just related to choppy camera movement in games. I'll try to take a video eventually. I found that turning down look/aim sensitivity in the game options usually helps make it smoother as the cost of slower controls, bit at least I can tweak it a bit that way.

In Dead Trigger the aiming isn't very smooth, but it is in MC3. Seems like a game problem too me.

The choppy aiming in dead trigger with small movements seems like a new problem in the 1.10 version. Hopefully they fix it.

Asphalt 7: Heat on Nexus S..

anyone got this game and if so, how is it overall?
In terms of gameplay, look up some reviews, in terms of how it runs, usually smooth, lower res textures, but still good looking.

Do the textures look similar to asphalt 6, but with some lag?
There is no lag. Asphalt looks very good

Personally my experience was bad. I just stick the Asphalt 6. Even my Nexus 7 can't run this game smoothly
Asphalt 7 hangs too much on nexus s. While playing it would hang resulting in a crash. In a single race it may happen about 10 times. Don't waste your money on this game.
No problems for my part, I'm on i9023 with custom rom and kernel. Running smooth without overclocking. If you want smoother framerates try to overclock to 1200.
<DELETED>
laggy and heat in my Nexus i9023
I know it's a 9 month bump, but now that I've finally installed the latest version 1.0.6, is it just me or does anyone else experience like a weird choppy, jagged forward movement? Usually when racing in asphalt games, it seems smooth, but for me it's like a stuttery motion
Our hardware is too old... it lags on my i9023 too on gingerbread nexusmv

Asphalt 7 is very worst game Nfsmw is very better than that game. And i hope Asphalt 8 gonna rockx coz the trailer is pretty awesome.:silly:
I tried Asphalt but no luck, it's too laggy to play normaly

How frequently does the sense launcher redraw?

I am looking at getting a new phone near Christmas and the HTC One is my top wish list.
If I visit large image intensive webpages like the verge, guardian.co.UK or do any memory demanding applications, how frequent does the launcher ha e to redraw?
Is 2gb enough to prevent it from redrawing unless playing graphically intensive games?
Sent from my GT-I9000
Never, not once had a redraw.

Same here, have my one for about 2 months now, and never experienced a sense redraw.
Even after playing games like vice city, shadowgun or modern combat 4, launcher is still in memory.
