Which firmware is better for smoth gaming,Android 2.3.3 or 2.3.6?Is battery always drain on 2.3.3?
Uhm. Usually I would point these kinds of questions to my thread in my signature but this is between different GB versions...
2.3.6 was pretty stable as far as I remember for games and the like. Never had 2.3.3 so I'm not entirely sure sorry.

if you have a choice between 2.3.3 and 2.3.6 why would you not go for the higher and updated version? if you can find a 2.3.7 rom that would be even better cyanogenmod 7.2 uses 2.3.7
You can try this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1388342
Best GB ROM
Until 2 weeks ago I also used 2.3.6 on my Galaxy S plus. A year ago, 2.3.3.
2.3.6 was faster, but the more I used it the more curious was the behavior.
Sometimes it was not possible to quickly make a call. When I pressed the green telephone receiver icon, nothing happened. Only after about 30 seconds, the dial image was displayed and I could make calls.
I think it was due to modern apps, with simply overstrained the gingerbread system....
Currently I use the ADC team CyanogenMod 11.0 release and am very happy with it.

Hello xda,
I've been off for like 2-3 months so I dont know much about "new" roms.
My current rom is 2.3.3 Darky's 10.1.
So what rom is really stable + has good battery?
What do you people recommend?
Thanks!
for me stock deodexed JVS 2.3.5 rom + darkcore 4.0 kernel.... normal usage 1day8hrs....
I like CM7 best but your mileage may vary concerning battery.
Thanks guys.
I'll try to find a good one

Darkey's 10.1 is still their last one (to my knowledge) and a very fast and stable ROM, but these are pretty good too. "F1 SGS II" and "F1 InnovatioN" and "SYMPLY".
one of the best rom on jvs right now is jetpack rom v5 'spark' ot has amazing battery life ! while i havent flashed it yet and i am still on v4 because i dont have a pc or a lappy these days! but the users feedback suggest that its super stable and has mind blowing battery life! v4 has amazing battery life too and as jvs has better battery life ao v5 has superb itself!

The darky crew has since released 10.2(EE & RE) 10.2.1 10.2.2 10.3Beta and a JVS Base ROM. From my standpoint I found 10.2RE and the JVS base to be much more stable, snappier and have better battery than 10.1 and others have claimed the same about 10.2.x in regards to 10.2
Now finding stock JVS With semaphore to have even greater stability.
Sent from my A501 using XDA App
for me simplicity 0.4 with semaphore 1.6.. i get around 1d2hrs with moderate use
You must consider lastest stock XXJVS, it's stabe and has a very good battery life.
But for me I'd stick with lastest CM7.
Best looking ROM: MIUI
Most unstable and worst battery Life: MIUI
In my opinion.
Now im searching for something stable + good battery life.
Testing Darky 12.2.2 atm but idk which kernel i should use

ICS for P1000 is still experimental, to say the least LOL...
Overcome 4.0.1 is an update (upgrade) for the older 4.0. Read the thread about that update and decide if its for you or not
Cheers
Overcome 4.1 is an update running on GB 2.3.6 not ICS ...apparently Alterbridge and co. are going to start something based on ICS but it won't be soon as far as I understand.
Go to OC 4.1 you wont regret it

Cheers Madant2011
flash slim ics v3.5..all the procedures are written there
Hi again could you please give me the link to slim ics 3.5 as i could not find it soz.
Cheers Madant2011
Hey
I think you defenatly need to try it, even if it won't be the best.
i recommend you to use Infinitium 2.2 which im using and it is awsome.
Infinitum. Great ! But not for too long mind u ! All ICS **** camera. All ICS , in fact most of them are great first few days then..... they start their minor to major issues. I don't like GB but have no choice and go back to XXJW4 . It's also great but for a while . After few days it starts slowing down, freezing up and so on. All irritating stuff which had made me leave GB in the first place. Then once again ICS , ....**** camera and issues.... phew ! Can't get the right rom ! Miui is the best but again bad battery life and no TV out. Well...

Try dmore 33 or saurom.they are still ginger.but u won't be disappointed.
If u are keen on ics flash "clean aokp" rom b34 or the milestone version is simple to flash and among the best I think.
Good luck flashing.m8
Try Weui Rom stable and good Battery life

If u got problems with ics(or Ginger)lagging,go to market and download "easy cache cleaner" (by bazinga).the adds are annoying, but is clearly the best cleaner.

don't know about technical details, but on my device LQ2 seems to have much better battery life than LPY, in fact on LPY battery consumption was so unstable i went back to GB for a while

They have the eMMc brick bug if you wipe data or factory reset...unless you use a custom kernel like franco or speedmod.
I have found myself getting more wakelocks with LQ2 , multipdp is taking up way more juice.
Changed the radio to a newer one and made no difference.
Only thing I have noticed is that I don't get pixel salad / garbled screen in LQ2 which I did in LPY now and then. Seems more stable to me.

Generally yes, after initial disappointment with LPY, i find the LQ2 with Franco kernel quite satisfactory (no revelations though), so I'm not going back to GB,
or you may want to wait for Samsung to release brick-free update - reportedly they're working on it (ETA unknown),
or wait for stable release of CM9, which should provide the best Android-experience ever
Thanks a lot !

Why you were disapointed by LPY? Im running it and it works just fine.
Does XXLQ2 has better battery life than LPY?

LPY worked ok, only battery consumption was much higher than on GB, and I could not find any way to make it behave. LQ2 -on my device - seems to have it solved (battery current usage in standby mode - with data off - below 10mA)
My Note is my daily driver and with LPY runs very good but battety life very poor after flash LQ2 my device runs more smooth and also battery life is better

Yes I agree, i think something when wrong while flashing. I had a similar issue although not as bad, but because i had no idea what to do I reflashed and it worked for me. Just like windows(if all else fails reinstall and evey thing is as good as new )
