I rooted and installed a custom ROM back in October. Recently she has had problems with the phone hanging or crashing altogether.
The problem is I can't remember what ROM I had installed and I can't seem to find the name of it anywhere in the menus!
But, can I just download a new ROM should I want to and install? It's rooted and the bootloader is unlocked.
The info should be in the "About Phone" section in settings.
I would recommend getting a more up-to-date ROM. You would have to wipe the data off your phone and flash the new ROM.

Thanks. It's a 4.2.2. Recommendation on a 4.3 ROM?
Carbon ROM is the best I've used. They also have a KitKat version as well

Thanks. Getting KK version now.
I like Validus 4.3. Stable and fast.

Stock CWM Packages for Nexus 4
I have created some stock ROMs and recoveries that are flashable through Clockworkmod or TWRP. These are taken straight from the Google factory image releases and packaged to be flashed. It can be useful if you want to go back to stock, but you don't have access to a computer at the moment for fastboot. Also, devs feel free to use this as your ROM base. Enjoy
Please note that I don't have my Nexus 4 yet, so please report any issues you may have and I will fix them immediately. Thanks.

It is without root. Just 100% untouched ROM, but packaged into a CWM zip for easy flashing.

Just Google it. I'm sorry, but you are probably not going to get a full answer for all this on XDA, and the more short answers you get the more questions you'll have. Do the research before you root your phone, it will prevent headaches, for you and everyone else.
Thank you so much for the stock recovery and stock ROM, this is exactly what I was looking for.
I am just curious, each time there is an update to the OS via Google, do you also plan on making a flashable zip version of the update as well. For example when 4.2.1 is released? Peace.

I'm assuming we can just flash the stock recovery and then check for software update for OTA, 4.2.1?

I really don't know, because I don't have a nexus 4. But I've read that you can just download the ota and sideload it through cwm.

Can I just replace the recovery image from 4.2.1 in the zip file to have the latest stock recovery?

HI guys i just got my nexus and i downloaded the toolkit.
I want to know what is the best rom to flash and a link to how would be appreciated?
I would like one that dosen't interfere with OTA updates as well
Thank you all very much
I would recommend Paranoid Android 3+. Link is in my signature. Even if you dont update it a lot, every build is very stable. Battery life is really good. It uses stock kernel with no overclocking or under clocking. Lots of customization. Check out the video in the official thread.
If you are running 4.2.1, make sure to update your baseband and boot loader when upgrading to 4.2.2.

That's not an official MIUI ROM. Its based on CM with MIUI look. MIUI ROMs aren't available for N4 yet because its running 4.2.1 or 4.2.2. You have to wait until MIUI catches up with N4 firmware. Feel free to install it.
Edit: updated

Congrats on the new nexus, but as born2gethard has alluded to, "best rom" threads aren't allowed. Too many people with too many opinions. Just try them for yourself.

There is no such thing as a difficult rom, if you were smart enough to root and install twrp on your KFHD7, then you'll be fine with any rom , installing a rom is easier, all roms are good for any beginner or expert. The kitkat rom I'm running at the moment is Hashcode's CyanogenMod 11 latest build and it is definitely stable.

Oh cool. I'll have to try that. I installed CM 10.1 (Hashcode's latest jellybean) and it was stable, I thought KitKat was still early days.

Take your pick http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hd/7-development although 10.1 is not the newest Jelly Bean ROM. If you want to stick with CM try cm 10.2 There are so many great ROMs though.

So I flashed a few roms from here and AF "android forms" using the latest phills touch recovery. No I can only stay on aosp type ROMs if I go and flash a stock ROM, say gt ROM I will get a no service unknown imei, serial, network. Etc. Basicly it shows nothing of the modem. Hi all, i am going on holidays in a week and i need my phone. I want to return to 4.1.2 jelly bean but i am afraid that it freezes when i need it the most. I am currently on t4n017 latest build but there is this annoying bug of screen flashing all the time.
1.Which cocafe's kernel should i use to have a stable and bug free rom?
2. If u suggest a custom rom, which one and y?
Thanks a lot

One tip, put max background apps to 1 or 2. Try SamiOS for example. For kernel, I used latest CoCore - it was ok.

Chirag's latest PA build, even though is not up to date with the official verison, works very well, especially when paired with apps like myandroidtools( link)

Probably yes. If you fail you can always flash stock JB and then install CM10.1.
Remember that you need to do factory reset after install of another ROM, to avoid getting into a bootloop.
