Need Win 7 Sony HS-USB Android Modem drivers - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks.
It's been a while since I was last on XDA Developers site. And once again I need help please!
I cannot install the correct USB drivers for the Xperia Z to my laptop using a USB cable?!
I can connect the USB cable, and the contents of the phone are displayed. However before flashing the current ROM, I could see two storage areas - Internal Memory and SD Card Memory. Now I only see a list of files/folders are root level. I don't think this has anything to do with my USB driver installation problem?
Either Windows 7 does not recognise the USB drivers or I am not using the correct drivers for the Xperia Z (C6603)?
The phone itself works fine.
I have searched this forum and the whole of XDA Developers site and found several solutions, but to no avail. I am on the verge of pulling my hair out (whatever hair I have left, that is)!
I followed several solutions found on XDA Developers.
1. I downloaded and installed the flashtool-drivers.exe, and in the process I selected the required Xperia Z and SO-02E drivers and successfully installed these, however the yellow exclamation mark is still displayed in Device Manager??
2. I also downloaded the Xperia Z drivers from http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/. Yet still Device Manager displays the yellow exclamation marks under Modems, next to Sony HS-USB Android Modem and under Ports, three entries C6603.
3. I cleaned the registry with CCleaner, but still the yellow exclamation marks are seen in Device Manager.
I don't know where to go from here. Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed something? Am I using the incorrect drivers?? Do I need to start again??
I have attached images of Device Manager, Failed USB installation and Flashtool driver installation.
Phone
Xperia Z (C6603)
Android version 4.2.2
Build: 10.3.A.0.423 (flashed using the flashtool)
Laptop
HP Elitebook 6930p
Windows 7 64-bit
I need your help please!

Ok well go to your device manager and uninstall the xperia z driver, restart your computer and after that install the drivers using the flashtool driver program again

thanks for the replies guys. Appreciate your advice.
I uninstalled the Xperia Z drivers from Device Manager and restarted my laptop. I then ran the Flashtool-drivers application and installed the relevant drivers, unfortunately the same problem still exists.
Not sure what else to do? May be flash some other ROM, although not sure whether this will have any bearing on the current issue?

Hi folks.
As per my problem above, does anyone have further idea on how to resolve the issue please?
Desperately need help!

Try this one. It's the ftf for the xperia tl. the one you linked is for the t (although I'm not fully sure that it would matter). Also make sure you charge your phone for an hour or two to make sure it has enough power to finish the flashing process

Make sure the phone isn't plugged in to the PC yet.
In the Development forum, there is an updated version of Flashtool (v0.9.11.0). Are you using that? If not, maybe uninstall your old one and use this one.
After you install Flashtool (I recommend installing it to a simple path like C:\temp\Flashtool), navigate to the folder where it is installed. There is a folder in there called Drivers. Run the EXE file in there. It will offer to install a driver for your phone, and also 2 other drivers you will need (Flashmode driver and Fastboot driver). Check all 3 of those and do the install. Once those drivers are installed, Flashtool should be able to recognize your phone when it is in Flashmode.
*Note that if you're running Windows 8, it may get *****y and tell you that the drivers were not installed (and it won't say specifically why). The reason, I believe is because the drivers are "unverified" or "unsigned".
To turn this Win8 feature off, go to the bottom-right corner of your screen to get that stupid bar to appear. Click Settings. Then at the very bottom, choose "Change PC Settings". Then go to General. Then scroll it down to the bottom (Advanced start-up). This will require a restart to show you the options. Do that and you will see "Troubleshoot". Click it. Then "Advanced Options". Then "start-up settings". Then hit the Restart button (again... I know.) When you see the Startup Settings screen, you'll see option 7 is to disable the driver signature enforcement. Hit F7 to do it. Then it will boot into Win8. Then you can run the Flashtool Drivers install to install your 3 drivers (xperia model+the flashmode+ the fastboot driver). You will notice that it will ask you a few times if you're sure you want to install the unsigned drivers. Say yes to all. Once it's all done, you can restart the machine and carry on with your flashtool flashing.
how do i get my phone into flashmode? i have a Sony Xperia TL (LT30at) and it does nothing when i push buttons.
Please read post 2 and 3 of the very first thread uh this section

this is Lt30p!!It's for XPERIA T no TL You Sould flashed Lt30a Roms
plug your phone to Charger for 4/5 Hour then flash an Lt30a Rom
this may work
Here's an example of an FTF that is Xperia TL specific: (LT30at_9.1.F.1.120_ATT.zip). Found it via google. It is available at: http://d-h.st/TlU
To clarify the models mentioned, here is what I have been able to gather quickly (Please correct me if anything below is wrong or missing):
LT30at = the Xperia TL (which is the Xperia T, branded as AT&T, I believe)
LT30a = the Xperia T (the Canadian version T? This is my phone. I have flashed many LT30p FTF's on it successfully using the standard Flashtool procedure.)
LT30p = the Xperia T (for the rest of US carriers? and rest of the world?)

[Q] ADB is not working for Sony Xperia Z (6602)

I bought a Sony Xperia Z. Earlier I was using Sony Xperia Ray for development and it was working fine. But with Xperia Z, I am struggling to detect the device using adb.
I found several links to make it fix but no luck. ( Sorry I still do not have permission to post those links.)
My OS is Windows Vista 32 bit home edition.
I installed PC companion and it is able to connect with the phone. But once I enable USB debugging mode, Windows shows "Found new hardware" dialog. When "Locate and install driver software" is selected it says software is successfully installed. But in the device manager it is shown under Other devices as 6602 with a exclamation.
It gives an empty list for "adb devices"
Is there anyone having a Xperia Z successfully connected with adb?

Isn't it supposed to be installed along with PC companion ?
Anyway I tried to find adb driver but could not find an exact match with c6602. There was one named as "Xperia_Z_driver" in developer sonymobile dot com. I am not clear how it should be installed. I tried updating the device in Device Manager and pointing to this location. But it gives the following error.
The folder you specified doesn't contain compatible software driver for your device. .....
Another thing is I still did not update Andriod SDK. It is the next item on my list. Does it matters ?
This driver pack contains ADB drivers for the Z. It helped when I had problems with drivers.

Thanks. I tried installing this but still no luck. Do I have to do anything other than installing this ? (Note that I have selected Xperia Z drivers check box while installing this.)
It's some time since I installed them, but I think the ADB drivers are a separate entry at the bottom of the list. I'm not at my PC, so can't check.

OK. I got it working on a Win 7 64 bit machine. So there should be nothing wrong with the phone. But still its not working with Vista 32 bit. Is it because there is no driver for 32 bit OS?

I think it's not compatible with Windows Vista.

Where can I download drivers for a Sony Xperia Sp

to include in the drivers directory before I use Flashtool to try and get my phone up and running. I am having the same problem as many of the other Xperia Sp phone users on here that have a phone that will not turn on no matter what you try, and that the LED blinks red twice every time you try to press the on button. And pressing the yellow reset button seems to do nothing for it either. I have downloaded the Flashtool application already, I have downloaded my Xperia Sp's version of firmware, and I am now charging the phone for 24 hours. I just do not know where to find the drivers to include in the driver's directory, since I can not get the computer to recognize that the phone is actually connected to the computer. Any advice as to where I can download the driver's for this phone or even what they are called, then I could probably find a copy of them through the internet on my own, but as of this time I do not even know how they are labelled or what they are called. My Sp's Model # is the C5306. Thought including which model it is might be important since there is 3 different models of the Xperia Sp.
Thank you for any help and Assistance anyone might be able to give and for your Valuable Time
Best Regards;

I can guide you if you can install Ubuntu. Flashtool is available for Ubuntu and it works buglessly. I, too, was unable to run it on windows due to some driver related issues but Ubuntu runs it without any issues.
I think it's in your phone only. When you get a notification saying install software. I don't know for sure but tou can try that, if it doesn't, I'll give you the drivers

[SOLVED] Unbrick c5303 possible?

Hey Folks,
Yesterday I came accross a new firmware for my C5303 (Stock) Rom. Problem was, something went fishy on my computer and the upgrade process went south midways.
Probelm being: I have neither rooted, nor unlocked the bootloader.
Is there a way to unbrick? Unfortunatelly I have learned, that appart from other SONY devices, the SP is not so peachy when it comes to custom roms.
Current state:
The device is not recogniced by the flash tool of Sony, or the suite.
Could someone point fingers where to look for a solution?
You will have to flash an FTF file using "flashtool".
A search on this forum will surely point you in the right direction.
There are already plenty of guides.
Good luck!

I bricked mine yesterday at 11 pm,couldnt sleep right cause of the panic. xD
My C5303 has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER too,and I was stuck at the SONY logo.
I downloaded Flashtool.
I installed Flashtool.
This procedure is neccessary in order to install fastboot/flashmode/adb drivers. If you already did it,skip it.
If ur on windows 8,move ur mouse coursor to top right of the screen,a toolbar will appear.
Then click SETTINGS.Then click CHANGE PC SETTINGS.When it opens, select UPDATE & RECOVERY.Select RECOVERY.Select ADVANCED STARTUP.When it reboots, you will see a blue background and an option,i think it is TROUBLESHOOT,anyways, look for DISABLE DRIVER SIGNATURE VERIFICATION.But as I remember,i was put with a choice of selecting a number, and i pressed 7-DISABLE DRIVER VERIFICATION.
The PC will boot like nothing is changed, but now u can install the drivers.
Go to Flashtool/drivers and open the installation program
Select "Flashmode drivers","fastboot drivers" and "common drivers for Viskan board(these are the ADB drivers ONLY for the Xperia SP)"
The PC will ask you to allow the driver installation, allow all of them.Reboot ur pc again, and connect ur phone in flashmode for the pc to link the flashmode drivers to ur Xperia SP,then u can begin.
Download this firmware FROM THIS LINK
http://www.xperiadownload.cz/phocadownload/userupload/download/2013/SP/C5303_12.1.A.1.205_CE.rar
extract the ftf file with any rar program, then move the .ftf file to the FIRMWARE folder in the directory where flashtool is installed, mine is C:/Flashtool.move the .ftf file into (DRIVE):/Flashtool/firmwares
Open Flashtool, select Flash with Flashmode, wait for the program to say that u can connect ur xperia sp with the PC.To enter Flashmode hold the Volume DOWN button while connecting the phone to the PC.
I reccommend using the SONY cable,as i have a feeling it is the best one for these things.
Let Fashtool flash everything,do not touch the device at all until the Flashtool allows you to do so.

Thanks for all the answers so far...
I figured, taht in the flashtool the firmware for the device is not listet, although it is in the respektive directory. am I blind, or am I missing something?
It however does offer a X10 installation, what ever that is, when it is at home
Look for an FTF file on this forum.
Make sure you download and flash the correct one!

New phone, can't update. Driver issue

I'm sure this is been written about several times, but I just bought a new Z3 compact and have attempted to update the firmware through the Sony PC companion app. When it is prepared and it tries to turn off your phone and install the S1 drivers, it is unable to do so. I have manually downloaded the Z3 compact drivers and pointed device manager to them but they will still not install. Google search hasn't helped anything although I've seen references to fast boot drivers. Is this what I want? I assumed I needed the USB drivers and I've only grabbed the ones from Sony directly. I'm not interested in modding the phone at this point, just installing the stock updates.
For what it's worth Sony PC companion can recognize my phone when I attach the USB when the phone is powered on it's the update process where it stalls out.
Thank you in advance for any thoughts.
