relock unlock Sprint htc m7 - Sprint HTC One (M7)

It's probably common knowledge so no one thought to write it down, cause I can't seem to find the answer- the phone doesn't generate a new lock code or anything like that right?

I'm confused by what you're asking... Are you trying to relock the bootloader? or something else...? Because to my knowledge, once you relock it, you can use the same .bin file to unlock it later.

I think I need to relock it and RUU back to stock, I think I basically flashed part of a gsm ROM. A couple organs Asia's I have a new SIM card but obviously I don't, I have data, but no signal, Network info in settings shows signal strength, in service and not roaming, phone I Dee identity info shows stuff normal until you get to the phone number and IMSI. Unknown for the number, and IMSI is listed as 111111111110111.
Basically I'm hoping for an RUU miracle save, so I don't have to test the geek squad's root policy.
1.55 hboot, 0913 or 1108 baseband.

I've kept my One with a S-OFF policy just in case I mess anything up and need to flash RUU's. But I updated to the latest Firmware and Radio, without the updates to the firmware and radio, it is possible that your phone is reaching the required satellites but is having a problem showing it on the phone and making it usable with the hardware/software versions you are running. Everytime I flash a new ROM, I always Update Profile and Update PRL just ensure a working network connection.
Currently I'm on the 1108 baseband with the 1.55 hboot as well.

Ran into the problem I was worried about...
I relocked my One, flashed the firmware update from the bad boyz thread, and every thing looked fine.
Next step, unlock the boot loader, FAILED.
S-off, 1.55 hboot, used the same token that originally unlocked my device. looks like I still have my custom recovery active, but I'm afraid to flash anything or rest k or recover. As nice as the One looks, I prefer it as a phone rather than a paper weight

You didnt need to lock your bootloader already having soff

hmmm
did you ever solve the way to get the number to come back and the imsi to stop being 111111111110111 ? My htc one max is doing the same thing now and I cannot get it to come back. I have reset the programming with ##786# and ##72786#, nothing. Tried with a different sim card, nothing. Added it to a different account and tried profile update, nothing. I have also RUU'd my device, it completed and still no change.

[Q] Need help to Sim Unlock AT&T HTC One

Looking to unlock an AT&T version of the HTC One to T-Mobile. I do have an unlock code but it's not working. The phone is rooted and running ARHD 51. I just flashed a different stock rom, tried the code once again but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

I heard you need to be stock to use a sim-unlock code so you might want to try back to 100% stock then use the code. If it still don't work then maybe you could purchase a new code.

Check your IMEI number and cross reference it with your original to make sure they match. My phone is doing the same thing and it came back from mobile tech videos jtag repair and my numbers are all wrong. Looking for a solution now but my serial number and IMEI numbers are different.

Do some searching here (in the Q&A) section, there were quite a few SIM Unlock threads solved (quite a while ago), I can't exactly remember, but it used to be a combo of
1- stock rom (or very close) but matching to firmware version
2- possibly stock recovery
3- possibly locked/relocked bootloader
4- s-off / s-on doesn't matter
I believe number 1 was the most important, can't say/remember about 2 and 3, and quite sure S-Off won't matter.

you don't need s-off, you just need to relock the bootloader
Hmmm still no luck. Been working at this for a while now, not sure what the problem is. Selling it is the only solution I can think of right now, but there must be a way to unlock this for my carrier.
Hello. I have a similar issue, so I don't think I should create another topic.
I just purchased a 64gb HTC One and purchased the unlock code from the same vendor as always. I was always able to unlock other devices (One XL, One X+, Windows phone 8X) easily, and even other Ones, since this is my fouth (first one I gave to my brother, second slipped off my pocket while in a tunnel riding my motorcycle and the third is 32gb, so I decided to sell it and buy a 64gb).
This one is used like new, everything stock, s-on, nothing unusual. Well, except the led seems to be smaller (very hard to see the red dot while charging) and the system may be newer, since it doens't find any update available.
But the code doesn't work. I tried twice thinking I could be misspelling the numbers, but returned wrong anyway.
So...
1-What happens if I try again and it returns wrong, since it's showing it's my last try?
2-Any clue?
Thanks in advance.
Does your phone work on any network? What carrier is it branded?
Best thing is to email (carrier) support and get a code from them.
This thread is for devices that have a security cross reference back end problems.
Does your phone say it accepts the code then restarts then asks for the code again?

In my experience, I'm not getting anything showing my number of attempts or last attempt. I've tried the unlock code about 8-10 times on different roms stock and non stock and stock recovery. I really have no idea.

Thanks for your answer.
All my HTCs always shown a counter.
Today, after restoring the phone to stock ruu, it wasn't showing any counter anymore, so I decided to try again the code I purchased (and other code sellers confirmed) and it worked.
Very strange... but now it's unlocked.

After a lot of painstaking effort, I managed to flash a stock RUU, got back to a stock recovery, and locked the bootloader. Got the same unlock code from two separate vendors. No dice. Incredibly frustrating, don't know what's wrong with my phone but now I have to sell it.

[Q] Rooting Gone Bad on HTC One-Sprint

Hi all,
I've been attempting to and failing for the last few days to get a custom ROM installed on My HTC one from Sprint. About an hour ago, I realized what the problem was but unfortunately have found no way of fixing this.
So far, I have unlocked the phone using the instructions from the HTCDev site as well as installed CWM/ TWRP Bootloaders and rooted with SU installed. I wiped all of the information off of the phone and as far as I know, the original OS is no longer available. I am able to access recovery and bootloader mode no problem and can install ROM's but they do not work fully as prior to rooting, I did not turn S-Off. It is currently on and I am stuck on how exactly to proceed.
Ideally, I would like for some way to be able to turn S-off, however, because I cannot access the operating system, I have no way of running rumrunner to get it done. At best, I can turn the phone on for about 2.5 minutes before it reboots and repeats the process. Added to that, whenever I unlock the screen, only the HTC logo shows up, there's no way to access anything else. I am able to copy files to storage during that time though.
Alternatively, I would like to return it to it's original state, but trying that has failed on multiple occasions. All of the guides that I have seen to return to stock require that you either have access to the operating system (without the reboot) or have S-Off, none of which I have.
Also, during the time that the OS loads, adb does not recognize the device. Its recognized in bootloader mode and Hboot, just not during 'regular' operation.
I would appreciate any assistance that could be provided as I really need to get this phone working.
Thanks! :good:

Thanks! Worked like a charm. Don't know why it never showed up in my search results though. Just gotta get this phone unlocked for GSM now.
Another problem
So I finally got my HTC one from sprint unlocked but I ran into another problem. Whenever I insert a GSM sim into the phone, I cannot get any signal. An 'x' is shown over my signal bar. Have already flashed the old version of the radio but I still get the same result. Currently running viper rom 5.7. Bootloader is unlocked, S-off and rooted.
Any idea what else I can do? Got the PN 072 version if that helps
BTW, I am using a Domestic GSM sim

I REALLY don't get why people buy a CDMA phone to use on GSM networks.... That said this is a known issue if you're running KitKat. No solution last I checked.

Main reason I got it was cause it seemed like there was a GSM radio in the CDMA version and I travel quite often out of state. Being able to use it locally would simply be a huge bonus. Will try downgrading to 4.3 or 4.1 to see if there's any change.

Bought used One M7, someone messed with IMEI - NEED HELP!

I picked up a used HTC One M7 yesterday, locked to T-Mobile, thinking I could do what I usually do, buy an unlock code for $4 on eBay and use the phone.
Problem is, when I tried to get the unlock code, sellers told me they couldn't find the unlock code for the IMEI I gave them.
So I compared it to the one on the box, and it is different.
I loaded up bootloader, and saw it's unlocked, so now I know someone messed with the phone.
My problem is this:
If I want to use an official unlock code, it will only work with a stock ROM. Now, in order to change the IMEI back to the original one, I have to root (already done) and switch S-OFF. However, when I attempted to run Firewater, it told me I have to try a different kernel, because the one that's installed has an anti-firewater lock.
If I change the kernel, the ROM will no longer be stock, and then I won't be able to use the unlock code anymore, correct?
I did find another way to unlock the phone which uses a custom Config.dat file, but that's a last resort and I'm not certain if it will work or not, so I'm not really sure what I should do at this point to actually get this phone unlocked.
Originally, my plan was to unlock it and then install Cyanogenmod.
Can someone please help? I've spent hours on this today already and I'm running on empty.
Ok, I got the unlock code and tried it but it says it's invalid, so it definitely won't work with the modified IMEI (wasn't really expecting it would).
So I'm left with the challenge of reverting the IMEI back to factory. In order to do that, S-OFF needs to be set, and for that I need to run firewater, however, this is what I keep getting:
ERROR: kernel contains HTC anti-firewater patch!
****** Try again with a different kernel ******
I've tried installing the elemental kernel, and it gives me the same error.
I'm running 4.4.3, Sense 6, bootloader 1.57
Really not sure what to do next.
You won't find anything here. Changing the IMEI is illegal and not to be talked about here
Well that's lame. I'm not asking because I want to perform an illegal act, I just want to restore my phone to it's proper settings so I can actually use it.

Well that's the thing. Changing it in any way is an illegal act. Any tool that could help has been banned from the site for years and if no original backup was made sending it in for repair is the only option I can offer.
Yeah, I suppose if I can't figure it out I'll try to find a tech in town that can help.
But I don't necessarily need specific step by step instructions on how to modify the IMEI, just some general guidance with getting S-OFF working properly, and making sure I don't mess anything up so that when I do revert back to stock I can still use the unlock code I got.
I just re-locked the bootloader and am now installing the RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_TMOUS_3.24.531.3_Radio_4A.21.3263.03_10.38m.1157.04_release_336982_signed_2(2).exe I downloaded, which I'm running in Parallels, since Mac seems to be fairly limited with some things.
After I get that installed and working, I'm going to see if I can go through the steps of unlocking the bootloader, rooting and trying firewater again.
If that doesn't work, maybe I'll try installing the latest cyanogenmod build, and trying to get firewater to set S-OFF after that.
You may have many issues if you doing all this on a mac.
Ref lashing the stock ROM has been known to help some. Not all but a few it worked on.
The IMEI change could also be a main board replacement. Then the IMEI on device would be correct and the one on the box would be wrong.
The serial number is still the same.
I re-locked the bootloader to try and install that ruu, but it got stuck and now it won't boot past hboot.
I'm running the cyanogenmod installer now because I don't know what else to do.
You could also try to S-OFF with revone, which got stuck for me at a certain point, but I went S-OFF anyway.
I tried revone because I had the same issue with firewater as you had.
Alright, I'm not going to get into all the crap I went through trying to get s-off, but suffice to say it was a colossal waste of time.
Ended up buying Sunshine and that worked like a charm when I ran it after restoring the factory T-Mobile rom.
Changing the IMEI back was ridiculously easy once I had s-off.
HOWEVER, the unlock code doesn't work! It tells me it's invalid.

[Q] HTC One with a rough history, need to rewrite to stock, please help

I think that I tried everything on this phone and it seems that it's getting worst.
I will tell you the device history as briefly as I can . . .
Part 1: (SIM unlock)
Bought a Sprint HTC M7 from eBay (with a cracked screen, bad shape case and bad ESN I think but didn't cared cause I am from Europe and want to use it on GSM)
Unlocked it, rooted, S-off, downgrade to 1.29.651.10 and SIM unlock using this guide.
Part 2: (Parts replacement)
Bought replacement parts from eTradeSupply, replace them and was PARTIALLY fine.
The devices was rebooting randomly (common M7 bug) so I factory reset it.
After that, after 3-4 hours the NETWORK SIGNAL was gone.
Flash a lot of other Sprint RUU, tried to SIM UNLOCK it again many times but no network signal, even more, it was showing NO SIM CARD.
At one point I tried more SIM cards and saw that 2 of them were detected and I had network signal.
After some research I have 2 ideas of what happened:
1) I didn'r replace the SIM READER cause the new assembly already included it (it is between the glass and the frame so couldn't replace it with original one form SPRINT)
2) The SIM READER has some broken pins (someone from a repair shop told me that SIM cards use different depending on the carrier) but still do not understand why it still shows NO SIM CARD for some SIM cards.
Part 3: (Flash Verizon RUU)
After that I tried flashing a Verizon RUU (thought are alike cause both are CDMA phones).
The RUU flash stopped at flashing the system, the phone could not boot again so did factory reset.
No WiFi, no signal, no rotation, no proximity sensor and I think that many other things after the Verzion RUU, which was normal so I flashed back a Sprint RUU.
After that the phone booted but only a GREEN HTC LOGO on white background appeared and after 1-4 minutes it was rebooting.
Deleted the HTC_Setup.apk and still the phone was rebooting. After a better inspection saw that it had "Unknown" IMEI, MEID, etc and also "Unknown" Baseband.
By many experiments I flashed only the Verzion radio.img on the Sprint Stock Rom and saw that the IMEI and all the info went back.
!!! All this time the info didn't change in the phone whey I was reading it from bootloader (FASTBOOT GETVAR ALL) !!!
Part 4: (Flash manually every img)
My idea was that the RUU doesn't rewrite everything because:
1) After all those RUU the sprint email that was activates was still there
2) The Sprint Animation when booting wasn't showing anymore
3) In the RUU flashing process there are about 15 things that are flashed but in a decrypted RUU i saw that their are about 22 img.
Flashed and ENGENIEERING HBOOT, flashed was images i could manually (couldn't flash rconfig.img, didn't know how) and after fastboot reboot-bootloader the device HARD BRICKED
I was lucky that it was in the QHSUSB_DLOAD and I could repair it with Linux and a M7_UL script but using Sprint firmware instead.
After that the phone could read the IMEI and all other info having a Sprint Stock Rom and a Sprint radio.
Part 5: (S-OFF problem)
The things is that when I S-OFF the phone reads the SIM for 5-10 seconds then for another 5-10 seconds it sais that I have NO SIM INSERTED and when changing between those states the "Airplane mode" seems fo flicker like you click on it but it still shows that it's on OFF
When I S-ON it's OK, it can read still only the 2 SIM cards that it was previously reading and it can get network signal for them (also no signal drop)
Another problem is that the battery is draining fast (about 10% for one hour and i am on 4.1.2 android so no 4.4.4 battery bugs)
Some important things:
Now it shows me that the MEID is 00000000 when previously it was like the IMEI but without that last digit
The username is [email protected]
The IMSI, UICC ID are different from previous but I guess that they are dependent on SIM card so I think that it's ok
The values of FASTBOOT GETVAR ALL are the same as in the first day
Could it be that the M7_ul script write something from the international version ?
I read the script before and from what I've seen it was flashing only 4 images to make the phone possible to enter the bootloader so you can flash a RUU.
Why does the S-OFF affect the rom making it read and unread the SIM card and when S-ON it's fine?
Why my battery is draining so fast?
I am opened to any opinions/experiments, etc . . .
What I would try if someones know how is to recreate all the partitions and write everything from 0 but can I do that only from USB?
And if so I think I need some partition files from someones elsees HTC M7 Sprit.
From what I've read on the internet, I saw that many persons have one of the problem that I've encountered and I think that all of them could be fixed if we found a way to
rewrite everything (or the import parts that are not rewriten at lest). I think that also the rconfig.img image from a RUU it's important but I don't know how to flash it.
Waiting for sugestions . . .
New Updates . . .
After some research I ended up getting my hands into the DIAG Mode so I could repair my MEID. After a lot of trouble getting the MSL code to enter the DIAG Mode (The phone was S-OFF and the MSLUtility apk could not read the MSL code, which after some tries I S-ON the phone and interesting, the MSL was 000000).
I search a lot to find a way to change to MEID until I got to this tutorial.
All good until I arrived at the part where you find edit the ESN and MEID files but the things was that there was no MEID file, only the ESN file.
After watching the tutorial till the end I saw that he used DFC CDMA tool to write the MEID so I download the tool, installed it, used it in the Demo Mode (no payed account) and after many tries of writing the MEID it finally saved and it was showing in the Phone Information. Also checked in EFS Explorer and the file 1943 which is the MEID file was created.
After that I S-OFF the phone and the NO SIM CARD was not toggling anymore so SUCCESS, I could register the phone to a network. Further more, the DIAG mode and the MSLUtility was now working with S-OFF also.
So a question for the ones that are more experienced and maybe have a clue of what happened . . .
Why having the phone S-ON "accepted" the bug of having no MEID ?
What does S-OFF actually do instead of letting you flash what RUU and FIRMWARE you want ? Cause it seems that S-OFF somehow affects the Android also.

[Q] S-Off, Relocked Bootloader. But it was all a waste?

I paid for the S-Off with Sunshine which was by far the easiest route I've had. But now he is were it gets difficult. I contacted straight talk to use my phone and they said it was possible and is currently active. The only thing is...I cannot use it as a phone. They said "sprint has it locked" so I searched and got S-Off, the CID is 11111111, from what I read that should make it possible to work. It still doesn't, and I know it has CDMA but also a SIM card slot which I thought was odd but I still cannot use a different SIM. I looked into a SIM unlock and found something about "am start com.redbend" command and it says it doesn't exist. I don't really understand all this but I read every instruction before I perform it. Now is my phone still just a mini-tablet? Or is there a way to actually use a straght talk SIM card since the phone has the option to use one, or did I just waste 85$ for the whole process of getting nothing done?
i have the same problem i bought a HTC M7 sprint unlocked everything was fine i can use other sim from my country but then
i bricked it trying to RUU diferents roms and S-ON by mistake ( playing wit the toolkit)
now i pay and i have s-off again but i have problem with the SIM when i briked i the bootloader options there is a locksim option i think that i I gave that option
then i have the last RUU i think that would fix everything but i didnt i can not use my sim again another problem is that i notice that i can use wifi
bt nfc but in opction it show the airplane optcion in gray saying turning of is stucked i can turn it on but when i turn it off again it stuck in turning off
i can not use the phone option
i saw a topic that says that i could flash a rom for GSM when i am CDMA but i try to flash 5.0.2 firmware but it didnt work too i still have the same problem and also flash my actual radio too but the same
ps: sorry for my english i am not a native speaker
after you s-off your phone, flash hboot_hexed and downgrade your m7 to 4.1.2 so you can do the "am start com.redbend" command.
Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip is the 4.1.2 rom. after you flash hboot_hexed for sprint m7, you can proceed in downgrading your phone.
