Apps not needed with Null - Samsung Galaxy Gear

I know the install script allows you not to load some apps.
Can you pick what apps you do not want?
I can not do bluetooth tethering what I what it the same apps I have with TWRP, but with a better shell Nova or Apex.
No bluetooth tethering, GAPPs, email apps, browser are useless to me.
Which shell you like better Nova or Apex?
Sure maybe able to use PDAnet for the browser, but I can not picture me doing searches from my watch.
Or do can I uninstall apps I do not want after 22.1 Null is installed.

Use titanium backup or application manager from xposed framework

You can select as many or little non-stock apps as you want. You'll be rooted so can always freeze/remove apps later if you need

App to hide apps in the app tray?

Anyone know of an app to hide the apps in the app tray?
I know advanced launcher does this however i would like to stick with the standard one.
I hate making the shortcut on the desktop and then it is still listed in the tray. Also there might be an app or two that I don't want my wife to see if she is looking at my phone
The only other way that I am aware of is to use the PACKAGE MANAGER to disable the app. There is a TERMINAL COMMAND that can be used for this; "pm".
The syntax is "pm disable packagename"
i.e. "pm disable com.crazydev.pictureappidontwantmywifetosee"
To reverse it, use "pm enable packagename"
You may need to kill the launcher after these to actually make them appear or disappear.
Note: When the app has been disabled, there is NO WAY TO RUN IT.
Also note: This may not be a good approach for hiding SYSTEM apps that still need to run.
grab a theme that includes the advanced launcher. you can hide anything you want in the tray.

Click to collapse

Don't know how to hide it in the app tray but if you use app manager or backup for root user, do a back up of your apps. Then uninstall when you are going to be around wifey then reinstall when she isn't around. Also you will need a file manager to explore files on your sd. Good luck. Just don't forget to uninstall.

Anyway to permenantly make Facebook and Google Maps User apps?

This is such a bizzare finding. I used Titanium Backup to completely uninstall Facebook and Google Maps from my phone. Then reinstalled them from the Play store so they would be user apps instead of system apps. I do this so I can use Greenify to hibernate Fb and Maps.
After a reboot, BOTH apps become system apps again!
Facebook as a system app is: /system/app/Facebook_Client.apk
Maps as system app: /system/app/GMS_Maps.apk
Anyone have any idea why, after a reboot, both maps and facebook become system apps again?
are you using a custom kernel that allows changing to /system to be permanent ? if not that would explain when they popped back up
ahh that must be why, ill haev to flash a new version of HTC button

Greenify, App Manager Disable, Titanium Backup Freeze

Hi All,
Being on Note 4 and Note Edge had made me forgot things I can do being rooted. To my understanding, the default application manager can disable apps, and titanium backup can go beyond that list from the default application manager. I have also got Greenify. Would anyone care to share what they have disabled/froze in TB and also what they have added on the Greenify list? Thanks in advance!
I basically greenify everything except apps that I want running in the background (desired notifications, watch apps etc). If something doesn't work right, just ungreenify it. The more the better I always say.
I don't have a list for freezing apps, but right off the bat you want to freeze sdm.apk so you don't get updates. I freeze knox and ITIgnite as well. Then of course i remove any games/verizon/Amazon/google play software i dont want.

[Q] How to Automatically Disable/Enable Freeze/Defrost App

Hello,
I use MightyText, which allows me to text/sms from my computer.
However, it's such a battery hog. It drains my battery like beer and drunk sailor.
Anyways, I usually use Titanium Backup to "freeze" the app when not in use. The process is pretty cumbersome. I was wondering is there's an automatic way to freezing/defrost apps?
Thanks in advance
Multiple ways.
You could use greenify to greenify / hibernate the app.
Titanium does nothing special. It just utilises the built in package manager. It uses the command "pm disable <package name>" so if you use tasker, .there's loads of things you can do
Thank you for the reply
I tried Greenify....for whatever reason....it doesn't hypernate MightyText.
With a little more looking around....I discovered that Titanium Backup got a nice simple widget to freeze/defrost apps.

Despite phone being rooted I can't uninstall certain pre-installed apps

I have an Xperia Z1 with Android 5.1.1 which I have rooted. Using Solid Explorer I was able to uninstall certain pre-installed system apps like Google+, News and Weather, Google Notes and other ones. However, I cannot uninstall other pre-installed system apps like Sony Notes, PS Video and What's New.
Does anybody know why this would not work? I thought once I've got root I can do anything with the phone... Could I simply browse to /system on the phone, remove some folders and reboot to get rid of the remaining useless pre-installed system apps? So far I used Solid Explorer because I think clicking an app is safer than removing random folders.
