[Recovery][CWM][TWRP][UB]Flashable Recovery For Xperia ZR - Sony Xperia ZR

Here are two flashable zip for you to flash the recovery, CWM or TWRP into your Xperia ZR.
Quoting from this thread by @championswimmer:
What are the advantages of this method ?
Every time you flash a kernel, the recovery gets changed, because the recovery is present in the kernel. But if we are hotbooting a recovery in the fotakernel partiton, then even after flashing a new kernel (given that it supports extract_elf_ramdisk), your recovery is not changed. Thus even if the kernel's inbuilt recovery is broken, you can continue to use the recovery you have flashed onto your fotakernel.
All I have done with the installer script is pushing the recovery.img into your fotakernel so the recovery you prefer will always stay in the device no matter what kernel/ROM you flashed.
Benefit?
You will not need computer to perform the installation as you only need to flash on your device and you're good to go.
How to install?
1. Download the recovery zip you want
CWM: View attachment clockworkmod_touch_6.0.4.5.zip
TWRP: View attachment twrp_2.6.3.0.zip
2. Copy onto your device, boot into recovery and flash like normal zip
3. Reboot recovery to see if it changes your recovery to the one you flashed

The intention was only install one recovery in FOTAKernel. DualRecovery using another method but if you want you can use the other dualrecovery.
I have made CWM and TWRP available for user to move around without losing any recovery.

Great work!! I just have two questions:
1. Does this work on LB?
2. Does offline charging work with this recovery?

is it possible to use recovery in kernel when fotarecovery is installed?

how can it be uninstalled?

can u plz make a fastboot .img file to cwm or twrp ?

Can you find newer versions of CWM/TWRP? Or, can you teach me how to make em myself?

If I flash kernel that contains recovery (i.e CM11) will it be overwritten?

Yes !
But if the previous recovery was in system and was not with Kernel then they both may stay together.

any update to twrp 2.8?

Yes.Find it herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3047602

[Q] Remove FOTAkernel TWRP Recovery

Hi..
after moving to 4.4 someone screwed me for taking AOKP which didn't include recovery. When I tried to flash boot.img to gain recovery, I didn't. At the end, I went and installed TWRP to FOTAkernel partition.
Now, If I would like to install CWM using boot.img from (lets say latest CM11), I cannot boot to CWM because TWRP loads up every time.
I've sent emails (TWRP team) and private messages to people responsible for some "recovery" topics here and didn't get any reply.
1. Can someone tell me how to get to normal, CWM recovery from boot.img (meaning how to uninstall TWRP from FOTAkernel partition)
2. If I go back to pure stock and install everything through flashtool, will the FOTAkernel partition also get erased?
Thank you for your replies.
Regards!
Just get hold of any FTF and flash fota kernel only with flashtool.

[Q] Recovery wont mount storage

I'm on a C6603 with an Unlocked Bootloader running 10.5.A.0.230 from an FTF flash.
I flashed this recovery's boot.img via fastboot and it worked fine. Went in to recovery and it can't flash anything. The internal storage only shows default folders but it claims they are all empty. SD Card wont mount at all, when I click on it it just hangs for like 30 seconds then errors saying unable to mount. I'm guessing this may be due to not flashing the full zip and only the boot.img? If so, how do I go about flashing the full zip since my recovery wont find it? I amen't rooted since I can't flash the SU APK & Binary zip in recovery...
Any ideas on how to fix recovery then gain root? (I'm having the battery drain issue and I can't live with like 2 hours screen off time)

[Q] Trouble flashing ResRemix!

Hi, its 11:30 and i give up!
ok i first installed cwm using the kernel, and falshed SuperSU and than wiped data and cache and dalvik and flashed resRemix so i can reboot again and flash cwm, the problem is when i flash reRemix it goes to rom but also replaces the recovery with cyanogenmod one which doens't have any flashh zip and if i re flash the kernel with fastboot it will get stuck in sony logo reboot !
if i install both without booting to rom first it will reboot in middle of setup(first time setup name etc always at activating cellular)
this time i don't know what happened but it also freezed and rebooted on the bare-rom, but it worked before that (i assume i was tired and did something wrong)
what should i do?!

Not able to go in recovery mode even when the flashing by TWRP recovery successful!!!

Hi guys,
I want to flash this ROM>> [ROM][LB/UB][LP 5.1.1 .228][ v5.0.3 ] CustomiZed Sony 5.1.1 | The Fully featured ROM!.
About my phone:
I have Sony Xperia Z C6603 with customized Indian firmware 5.1.1 i.e. 10.7.A.0.222.
Bootloader unlocked? = NO
Bootloader unlock allowed? = NO
Root status = YES, rooted by kingroot
Busybox installed!!
So I wanted to flash that firmware to my xperia Z. This is my first time of flashing firmware. I know how to flash from recovery mode, but now I am stuck on recovery. I am not able to go in recovery. I tried several method to go in stock recovery like pressing volume up or down key while booting but nothing helped. Then I tried TWRP recovery. I flashed recovery, it downloaded the recovery and flashed. Even I got message that recovery flashing successful. Then when it asked would you like to reboot and try to go in recovery? Yes. Then it rebooted like normal. No recovery, nothing!! Now, the recovery status in TWRP recovery is saying custom recovery is not installed, that I installed before reboot. I tried direct flashing the zip rom from the app (they have a option to flash roms). I checked to wipe cache, dalvik and again it rebooted as normal. Nothing!!
Please help me to go in recovery mode!!!
Thanks

No sadly But you could fix your recovery http://nut.xperia-files.com/go here then
XZDualRecovery --> XZDualRecovery 2.8.23 --> XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip and download it to your pc, unzip the file and execute the install programm then follow the instruction ( in order to do this you must have Supersu)

you cant boot into stock recovery, you cant do anything with stock recovery. So you need a custom one like TWRP or Philz Touch.
Ok now that this is settled, did you move to Supersu?
If not follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/tutorial-how-to-root-add-recovery-method-t2342120

You have flashed a recovery image to your boot partition, so it always boots to recovery. You need to flash a boot image to the boot partition.
But why do you want recovery if you won't flash anything to your phone?
By flashing recovery, you are doing exactly that anyway.
You have an unlocked bootloader, so you may as well flash an advanced stock kernel. It is stock kernel with twrp built into the boot.img. Check android development section.
thank you
since i know that i can't boot recovery without flashing, i have no other option as to flash.
can't i flash it to FOTA partition?
i have 10.7.A.0.222 firmware and need root access but like to do it manually
You can't boot directly to FOTA on XZ. Need modified boot.img or flash twrp to boot (like you did before). Then while in TWRP, flash Supersu.zip to get root. Afterwards flash kernel only in flashtool to get stock boot back
