Copied my efs folder using Super Manager to my internal sdcard (dont have an ext yet)-used this method because couldnt get the adb method to work for me despite some brilliant tutorials .
Inside efs folder I got 7 files-2 folders-the emei folder contains 2 files, the android folder is empty and a further 5 files.
When I try to copy/ paste to my PC it only copies the emei folder (with 2 files) and only 2 of the other 5 files. Is this due to a lack of permission? Pc is set to display hidden files and Im administrator (Vista) If I use 'My files' on phone it can only see those same 4 files.
If it makes any difference Im on 2.1 still-which is why Im doing this cos Im getting so bored waiting for Orange to release 2.2.
Really appreciate someone giving me some help on this..
I can't find my flashable zips in 'choose zip from sdcard'. I tried to put it in a specific folder that I made but it is invisible in clockwork recovery. Also I noticed that old files are visible in clockwork recovery although I already deleted those old files. I can't flash custom rom because of this.
Also when I installed ARHD Google play edition 4.2.2 my virtual sdcard contents were all deleted and my backups gone. I don't know what happened, the aroma installer said that the virtual sdcard will remain untouched. Please help
Is it safe to just reflash CWM? I am having problems with cwm it can't find any file that I put in my sdcard.
-edit-
I restored my phone, safely returned from stock but problem not solved..

Is there a 0/ entry in you CWM folder list?....... if so your files are in that folder
4.2.2 has a different folder structure to support multiple user.
When you copy a custom ROM.zip to the phone, you find it under SDcard/0/
Make yourself familiar with the new handling of SDcard under 4.2.2
It is explained in the forums

Hey fellas,
I need to copy a file into folder /data/preload/ .
I cannot find this folder using the root explorer. Where is it?
I know it exists (or should exist) since system gives me an error message while applying OTA updates saying that a file is missing in that folder.
I have got the file now and want to put it back.
my phone:
HTC One M7,
rooted
stock recovery
s-on
bootloader unlocked/tampered

Does anyone know?
Thanks
Could it be in the system partition?
How can I access system partition?
In TWRP recovery I see an option named "mount" when I select it only the "data" in ticked.
Should I tick "system" as well, and it will mount the system partition? If so, then i can probably use the file browser of TWRP, find the data/preload folder and copy the missing file back in place. right?
download root browser, there is a free edition from play store as soon as you open it you will see the data folder on the list, its not in system, that's a separate folder.
you will need to copy the preload folder and its contents to that folder and change the permissions of the folder and contents.
you need to be rooted to use it.

Thanks Seanie.
So by default that folder does not exist? That's why I couldn't find it then!
I created the folder via root browser. What should be the permission for folder/apk file ?
now the preload folder permissions are rwsrwsrwt and apk file permissions are rw-rw----
does it make sense or should I change permission of filder and file both to 777 or 666 ?

It does initially exist, but if you've been flashing custom rom's and recoveries, then when you clear data it gets deleted, set permissions to rw-r-r- for the apk's etc and rwxr-xr-x for the folder
I had ktoonsez installed on my previous rom, I switched over to a different rom and now I can't delete the folder in my internal memory called, "device." When I look in the folder it has ktweaker and other stuff, I've tried to mount the system as r/w but it still doesn't work. Does anyone else have this folder? Photos attached.
Try looking in /data/media/0 or /data/media/legacy
See if the folder is there and try deleting it. Sometimes the files on /sdcard are just images of the data folder. GL!
Delete any folder easily
If you fell any problem to do copy, paste, error Deleting File or Folder. Then you should use Long Path Tool to solve your problem.
If Long Path Tool fails on start up, please ensure you have .net framework installed on your PC.
I followed a guide I read online that said to back up the game save folder from the /data/data directory.
I just installed a new ROM (Cyanogenmod) after running a stock ROM.
Now trying to copy that folder back to the directory isn't working. First of all, there is no second folder named 'data' within the data folder. I cannot create one either using a file explorer.. it says to use another name.
I've re-installed the game I'm trying to restore, and have found the directory where the game save is now being created. It's located in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data. However, I've tried deleting the folder that's created in there when I first run the game, and have also tried clearing app data, but no matter what, the game keeps loading a new game instead of the back up I made.
If I run the game, it'll start me at the beginning and say, I leave it at level 2 before deleting the folder and clearing the data and copying my back up folder over... it'll still load up level 2.
I can't figure this out!
