I have been browsing these forums for a while and learned some things but I am having trouble finding a solution to my issue. I could be overlooking it somewhere and if I am let me know.
I have a System Update notification but I have rooted so I cant use the OTA. I have been looking for the latest update so I can install it by other means. Just now looking at the screen that comes up after powering on while holding VOL- button this is what I see:

I notice I still have S-ON. I also have SuperSU and TWRP so I know why I cant use the OTA but in all my searching I cant find a thread that specifically says where to find an update I can use and how I would go about it. (again I may just be overlooking it)
So my question is where do I find the latest OTA that has been tweaked so I can install it and how would I go about actually installing it.

You could flash a radio zip or a custom rom. The radio zip would be a good start, backup in TWRP first.
This is the thread with the latest modified firmware update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576995. It's not a big update. Based on info there is a more current radio available. I would personally start with s-off that way you can ruu if needed. Look in q&a for bd619 faq thread, it a one stop shop!

I am new to the forums but i have searched and searched for the answer to my predicament to find only part answers and so on.....So here it goes:
Basically i unrooted my device and want to unroot back to stock so that i can return the phone. I have Relocked the bootloader and got S-Off but beyond this any RUU file that i try to flash to the phone it comes back with errors and does not allow it. When it is in the developer menus of fastboot,recovery etc it states this:

I bought my Phone unlocked and i live in the UK!
I am unable to do system update, i cannot flash a RUU to the phone. I am completely lost and like i said i have looked and there are answers for other problems but not this in particular.

I found out the issue, it was that I hadn't changed the cid. Only issue is that I'm unable to do software update when back to stock....

actually thats better than getting OTA
just download a custom rom like ViperOne or ARHD or InsertCoin and
copy it to your downloads folder
reboot your phone and hold volume down and it will enter the bootloader. go into recovery from here and wipe/factory reset and install the rom you copied to the phone. 10x better than waiting on OTA update
Edit: When rebooting the phone you may have a menu with the choice of booting recovery ..choose that

No there is no typo i am getting that exactly OS-5.29.401.13 there .. okay but what i have to do if i want it back on 100% stock, should i change its cid first then flash stock rom ? or do i need to unroot it and make it S-ON first.. i am a newbie. i would appreciate if you could guide me , because i dont want to brick it by experimenting by my own.thanks

Hi, first of all this is a different HTC One from the other one I posted on this forum with the problem with the Safe Mode, need help to send it to repair for the purple tint issue. Now I have S-OFF and Bootloader OFF, so it came like that since I bought it, because his first owner did this,
I'm on stock rom and I don't have root, for example I applied the last update via OTA and I did it without problems, but I need to put the S-ON and Bootloader locked like as it comes from factory so the HTC support can't screw me
How can I do this ?

the guide is written in a specific way to avoid potential problems, (especially the S-Off to S-On part), so follow it correctly please.

My goal was to go from HTC One Orange branded (France) to an HTC stock ROM. This way no unnecessary carrier apps, and no more wait for updates. But the irony is now that i reached my goal i get a "no update available for your phone" message
My phone is considered up to date whereas i'm on
Android 4.1.2
Sense 5.0
Software: 1.29.401.12
Here is what i did:
unlock bootloader
installed cwm touch recovery
root with superSU
SOFF
modified CID to HTC__203
Tried a first RUU install with RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed
Got error 155
Downgrade hboot 1.55 to 1.44
RUU install successful this time.
Tried update: corrupted download error message
tried again: no update availble for your phone
Tried to kill updater app and cache but no luck
tried with RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4
No luck either

Go HTC__001 on your CID, ive noticed that superCID isn't in the android-info text file in the 401 OTA's and RUU's, and also, why did you go back so far, why not just go straight for the KitKat 401 RUU ?

btw, if receiving updates faster is your main goal in this, why did you choose the .401 version? Dev edition (.1540) receive updates much faster than the WWE .401 version. Just saying if its not to late, you could use the 3.22.1540 ruu and then updates from ota.
And the 1.20.401 ruu is a pre-release version, no updates exist for that version.

you will probably have to flash the corresponding firmware first to get your hboot version back up, see here, the firmware you want for that ruu is 4.19.401.9 don't forget to flash it twice.

well give a try to the dev edittion ruu. It require cid BS_US001 and MID PN0712000.
try the 4.19.1540.9 ruu. If that one doesnt work, the 3.22.1540.1 ruu will work, im 100% sure. Then if you still not receiving ota from 3.22.1540.1 you can download them in the dev edition thread. We have posted them recently.
And don't worry, even if its a US version, you can also select the french language.

- flash firmware
- RUU install successful
- updates finally working : currently installing sense 6

Hello, so recently erased my phone and planned on using the RUU file I had used in the past to start off fresh because my phone was running like a turtle. The only problem was that the RUU I had used in the past would not work anymore. It would start up and either stay at step 1/5 checking headers for like an hour or it would fail completely. I am completely confused and just want help finding the correct RUU that will get me back up and running. I've tried several different RUUs but none have worked.
I have a US T-Mobile htc one and I relocked the bootloader already.
