Hi guys,
recently a friend of mine bought an htc one dual sim. Everything is ok except the fact that he cannot choose which sim should be taken when he's making a call directly from agenda. if he goes to call history and tries to call someone then appears a message to choose the desired sim. but from agenda no.
There is any chance to activate this thing too? when you are in agenda and want to call someone, to have the option to choose between those 2 sim cards? 'cause now it takes by default one of them.

Hello, Can someone please explain to be what exactly happens with 2 SIM cards in this model.
My main questions are when you text someone do you chose what number it sends from?
Can it support 2 different carriers, since it is an unlocked phone?
Lastly, like the first questions when you call or use data can you chose where it goes through?
Thank you kindly.

I'm currently using 2 SIM cards from 2 different carriers.
When I make a call or send a text it prompts for which SIM card to use - although you can set a default if you like.
Incoming calls and texts state which SIM card they arrived from.
You can select which of the SIMs to use for data.
You can also assign a name and colour to the SIM cards, so you can easily identify them.

The XT1068 is a dual standy device. It can support two different carriers. You assign one SIM for data/calls over 2G/3G and one for calls only over 2G. You can also decide whether the data enabled SIM or the voice/sms only SIM takes priority. For example, if the voice/sms SIM is given priority, the other SIM is put into standby for the duration of the call, thus you'll be unreachable on that number assigned to the data SIM until the call ends. Motorola have modified Android to allow you to choose how each call/sms is routed, either individually, or on a number by number basis.

Hi, I am shortly going to have an mi5. One of the reasons I bought the phone was to have one phone and 2 SIMs thus doing away with the need to have two phones (personal and private) with me. But I am totally new to the whole dual sim thing. Can anyone explain how it works on the mi5?

All in all,
you get to choose if you want to use data from SIM 1 or SIM 2.
When u get att call it says Incomming call on <Call provider 1> or <Call provider 2>.
The same when you wanna call or text someone, either you tap SIM 1 or SIM 2. All of this could be configured in the settings menu.
Cool, thanks.
Just got my dual sim Note 8 a few days ago. I can't see any way to assign specific contacts to a specific SIM card.
I just came from an LG V20 and there I could specify for a contact that I wanted to use a certain SIM card. So while SIM 1 (my phone) was the default, I could set that all my work related numbers dial automatically with my second, work SIM. It was in a selection of the contacts called Cost Saving or something similar.
I don't see anything like this in the note. So if I right swipe on a work contact, it will call with SIM 1. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks..

This is what I'm looking for myself and it seems incredible such a feature is missing, even more critical when you call mainly via Google assistant.
Thank you.

Hey all,
I recently purchased a p10 Dual.
I have 2 SIM cards.
a. Personal number
b. Business number.
I want to assign my Colleagues numbers to be called always and without the phone asking me every time, with SIM CARD b.
And all the other Calls to be made by my personal number.
I really can't find a way to do it, and I am definitely NOT technologically challenged.
Any insights?
Thanks in advance!
Dimitris
I have found no such thing either, BUT as there are two buttons for calling in the default phone app, it hasn't been such a problem. Also, if you pick a contact from the contacts list, the popup for calling will show which of your SIMs was used to call this number last time.
Another thing that amazed me, was how the integration with in-car hands free works. If i pick or enter a number with the car system, it actually automatically uses the last sim used to call that number. So you dont have to worry about choosing.
When calling from the phone, I guess it is a little bit more tedious to get used to huaweis method (I came from a dual sim LG G4, and there you had to swap SIM card calling, but you could assign numbers to sims so it would pick the sim automatically), but it took me around 1 month to not notice it any more.
There might be some third party Phone apps out there that can do this, but most of them are not that good overall - and googles own does not work with dual sim phones as far as I know.

I've been using True Phone for many years - previously with Xiaomi double-sim, now with Huawei - no problems at all. You can assign numbers, save the latest used as a default, etc.

I get that, but I still can't even imagine why the Car mode can memorize which SIM card Called Which number, but this cannot happen to the non-car mode.
Especially since this feature existed in much older android versions.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. Although, using a Dialer in 2018 is not my best choice. It reminds me my Experia X10 and its terrible UI.
I tried Dual SIM selector.
The basic principal works for me, but it doesn't work every time, and it is tiring.
Hello, when I'm on the net and I get a voice call my data stops working till I finish the call, I put sim in another phone and it works as it should its just this phone, any ideas how to sort this out before I sell it, cheers
Hi, do you have the dual sim or single sim?
With dual sim the problem is that there could only be one active simcard at a time.
Hi, single sim with space for sd card
