Hello all,
How can you rename a lib?
I can find the lib no problem BUT it prompts after I rename it "task failed" or
On another file manager it says "not permitted"
I Have searched but nothing works.
This is for the elemental X. People in the thread said, just rename the sensor lib and rotate would work.
*I have posted in there but nobody replied. I love the kernel I just really need the rotate feature.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

If you are using es file explorer open the fast access on the left, root explorer, mount r/w, select r/w for all the items, ok. Now you'll be able to edit system files

Thanks a lot.
I kept pushing the on/off on the fast access, instead I should have pushed
The whole option.
Thanks again?
Now I am good to go?

I i want to modify build.prop, will i need a program to find it in my phone? i found the one in root file explorer but it wont let me modify it so i can make icons bigger . Any help for the noob. Only asking as new thread because i have friends who want to find out too...
If you long press on the file in root explorer you can thumb down to: open with text editor...
Then after you save it it automatically makes a copy of the original file just in case you need to revert

Correct, also make sure you're in r/w, not r/o otherwise it won't let you edit or save
Very true my friend! I forgot to mention that!

When you open root explorer you will see a box at the top that says Mount RW...tap on that

It ends up that I don't have root explorer and can't buy it. Is there another program like that, that I can use.

Even though you're on another phone, if your rom is in a zip format. You can simply:
- Unzip the rom
- Locate the build.prop
- Open it with wordpad or notepad++
- Edit it
- Save it
- Rezip the rom
- Flash
Well he would also have to edit the update script if he doesn't use a program like winrar or 7zip. Simply extracting the rom zip and making edits to the bp then rezipping the rom won't work. When he goes to flash it if I'm not mistaking it will give the update script error.

Hey guys. I'm still on stock but fully rooted and s-off and cwm. Any idea how to flash the standard lockscreen? Hate the HTC one.

Try to rename htclockscreen.apk to htclockscreen.apk1 in system/app folder. I don't know but maybe you also should rename htclockscreen.odex. And reboot.

You have to change /system/app in root explorer to Mount r/w instead of r/o at the top right. Hope this helps.

Renamed both, and rebooted DHD. Still Sense lock?
And yes, Root, S-OFF and CWM.

Strange. What Rom are you on? Worked for me just renaming lockscreen.apk! Are the names still changed after reboot?

If you change the lock screen does the alarm still work? I remember on the Desire Modaco ROMS if you disabled the HTC lockscreen then the alarm couldn't be disabled without a battery pull.

Bah, I've been wanting to get rid of the HTC lock screen since day 1. I eagely entered "mv htclockscreen.apk htclockscreen.apk1" to be hit with the read only error. Is there a easy way to get write permission in /system/app? The results from Google are rather confusing and I didn't want to enter them directly on the phone with the little keyboard.

If its not changing then the phone is not rooted properly or root explorer doesn't have super user permissions. Open super user and check root explorer is showing in the list. Maybe try running visionary again?

Install root explorer from market. Your phone must be rooted for this to work though. Have you rooted your phone?

It is in super users. I have full root with s-off, cwr and can run custom roms. It lets me change it to r/w in root but not app folder of root....
This sucks

Why not do as i did ? Install the lockscreen you want that autostarts and works with your phone, then uninstall the htclockscreen with titanium backup. Works perfect for me and i never have to see that ugly htclockscreen again Im using widgetlocker and i think it's the best out there, nothing even comes close to it, it's well worth the money.

MoDaCo ROM seems to have the google lockscreen, so I suggest you check his ROM out if you want it so much. =)

There is no way to turn the alarm off!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643929
This fixes the alarm problem (and you can turn off the HTC alarm by setting off an alarm with it). No choice of alarm tone though, I did quite like having soothing music wake me up...
And as I discovered last night the screen doesn't time out.

Any idea how to replace the HTC Lockscreen with a "empty" one so you don't have to unlock twice if you use a unlock pattern?
Hey guys.
Any thoughts or opinions about the new file manager in cm ?
I really like it.the root acces is good But it lacks a dark theme and some rotation enabled.
Also was wondering if i could use it on a non cm rom ? Maybe backup with tb ?
Ps: holy crap! You cant copy files to another folder ... you can create copy but you cant move it ? Wtf ?
Solid explorer still beats it.
I heard it can access root folders but can't open archive/zip files. The latter is a deal breaker for me. Still it's a good start

Well working on BAKED-crespo 6. Just copied to /system/app. Set permissions to rw-r--r--. Reboot and done. Well so far does whatever I want. For sure will see updates.
I'm curious because i can do everything that everyone above is claiming they can't. Hmph...

I remove it every time I update a nightly on my phone. It's probably the worst thing I've ever seen. It looks like something written for X Windows 10 years ago. The interface, design and functionality is about as basic as you get.. CM team should stick to providing stablilty and integrated options into Android and not apps that there are already 1000 better choices of.

This was the first thing that I needed to do with a file manager with my latest install. I also found this to be a huge place where this file manager is lacking. Sticking with Root Explorer for now (I already bought it, might as well keep it).
Have it installed from my latest CM10 nightly, but would really like to be able to do a MD5 checksum on it, because I always like to do this for ZIPs before flashing, just in case. Don't know how easy / feasible / possible that would be, but would be nice.
I like the interface apart from that access time sucks.... As someone mentioned solid explorer which looks similar performs a lot better.

Yes you can! Select the file you want to move (tick the box) and then go to the location where you want it pasted. Then press the button on the bottom left, and select 'Move selection here'.
Better use root explorer

When I try to access the root folder in explorers ES, Astro and Solid they ask for SuperUser permission, which I grant but then the folders show empty.
I had problems a few days ago (see link) - where I ended up sideloading a ROM from my computer - could this be the cause?

Can be a issue with the read and write with the Rom. Might need to flash latest version if Nike fixed it or whatever
