[Q] the hardest time sim unlocking sgm

I'm having a really hard time trying to sim unlock my phone.
I already have the code for it, but I can't find the prompt to enter it.
Here is a list of everything I've tried:
On original stock firmware. Branded Movistar (Chile) Gingerbread 2.3.4
First, a check. *#7465625# Network lock ON. All other locks OFF
Inserting another provider's SIM card and turning on the phone. Nothing.
Without a SIM card and turning on the phone. Nothing.
#7465625*638*CODE# Nothing happens when I finish typing it.
*#197328640# Debug -> Phone control -> Network lock. Nothing happens, and if a select it a second time it says menu don't exits code 1866 (can't remember the exact message atm)
So I decided to flash other roms to make it work.
Stock Unbranded (Panamá) Gingerbread 2.3.6. All of the above mentioned. Same results.
Stock Branded Movistar (Chile) Gingerbread 2.3.6. All of the above. Same results.
Now I'm out of ideas and I hope anyone can help me. I'll really appreciate it.

It actually worked on my wife's galaxy S5 SCL23, followed the tutorial on htcsoku http://htcsoku.info/htcsokudev/rudimentary-knowledge/scl22-scl21-simunlock/

I have just unlock scl23 by this method, Thanks for this, But after doing factory resety I lost signal and just showing emergency calls only, Is there any way to fix this issue or permanent unlock?

Unfortunately, I think you will need to unlock it every time after you do a factory reset. (unless someone comes out with a new rom, but I have not seen any development for the scl23; at least not that I know of)

Dial *#9090# dialer ( try *#0011# if *#9090# wont work)
Tap 3 dot on top right, Type "Q" (case sensitive) => Tap OK => Type "0000" => Tap OK
Then wait, if u tap anything else, those step above wont work and you'll need to do it again.
Done.
Continue to follow step in this topic:

check your baseband it should be SCL23KDU1BNE4 in order to work..

Unlock any SCL23 even @ 5.0
Hey guys, I've been following every unlocking threads for the SCL23 but no one seems to have the answer how to unlock ALL VERSIONS of SCL23.
I actually had mine for a year now and just decided to unlock it now, I have it on Andoid 5.0 which if you may know *#*# codes doesnt work anymore.
If you do some research, you also can't unlock SCL23 with Baseband ending with BNG3. Even if you're able to do the *#*#9090# code and followed the unlock procedure, it will not work!
Work around is:
1. Downgrade with ODIN to Android 4.X firmware version BNJ1 for SCL23.
2. Do the *#*#9090# Hack. Try *#*#0011# if you 9090 doesnt work.
3. Upgrade to latest firmware via ODIN
4. Profit

I downloaded SCL23 Android 5.0 via SAMFIRM
and SCL23 BNJ1 from android firmware websites.

I have baseband SCL323KDU1COI2 and I have the same problem.
Im from Argentina and I updated from Kies from android 4.4 to 5 and The phone says I dont have SIM in my phone.

Not working on SM-N910F, tried *#197328640# and nothing happens?

Looks very much like what I did to unlock my S3 quite some time ago, it worked but only on Android 4.1 if I remember right, anything above that and an option was missing from the hidden menu so you either had to roll back or use another method.
Can anyone confirm this works (I would try but I don't have an alternative SIM)?

did you make whit foreign sim card?

That used to work in early versions of firmware on Galaxy S 3 and Note 2. Samsung closed that loophole in firmware updates at least in US

the difference its because the secret menus appear only whit a foreign sim card

Shouldn't make any difference, I think the point is to prompt the SIM unlock code box.
I used a 3mobile sim in an EE locked 910F and that sequence of numbers brings up no such menu, I'm pretty darn sure this doesn't work on any variant because as pointed out above.... Samsung locked this out ages ago, in fact it was a surprise you could do it then!
However, I'm all up for being proven wrong, proof please.

If anyone can find a sim unlock method via that then brilliant but I doubt it!

Looks like a copy and paste from the S3 and Note 2 Thread. It's exactly how I unlocked my old S3 but it only worked on android 4.1.1 and was locked out in the next update.
This does not work on our Note 4.

after I enter the step 3 I got 1-basic info, 2-nas info, 3-AS info, 4-sim info, 5- CDMA debug info.

Please read the past few posts. This doesn't nor has it ever worked on a note 4. No need to revive a dead thread.

Note 4 unlock method

I came across this and I know similar trick was done on the s3 and it worked so can someone test this out I don't have Sim card to test.
Unlock your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 f or Free to use with any
carrier of your ch Dice by using the following secret trick
1. Insert the f oreign SIM card into your Samsung Galaxy Note
4.
2. Turn your handset off and back on again.
3. Dn the dialpad on your ph one, type in* #197328640#.
4. Then select [1] UMTS> [1] Debug Screen> [8] Ph one Control
> [6] Network Lock> Dpti ons [3] Perso SHA256 DFF.

It was working on early firmwares on Galaxy S 3 and Note 2. Samsung fixed that loophole with updates almost 2 years ago.

this is how I unlocked my AT&T S4, so it wasn't patched with the s3

I remember unlocking several Note 2s with this method, but I don't even have the same menus on my N4.

I currently own an atat S3. It does not work because Sammy patched it in 4.3 bootloader although the same exact method worked on my sg4 active.

I tried this on a sm-n910t with a bad imei and it does give me the UTMS option after I type in "* #197328640#" in the dialpad. It brings me to a screen that says. Debug screen and gives me 6 options but none of them allow me to follow the directions given here. It's running Android 4.4.4 btw. As anybody had success with a bad imei phone in general with this (or any other ) method?

If the phone gives you the MM06 code it is reported stolen, therefore it will no longer connect to any network carriers. You will have to have the IMEI cleaned. That is all I can say.
I have successfully unlocked the S4 on AT&T. I wrote a thread on it:

Did your s4 have a bad IMEI? Even though I'm not exactly sure if that's my problem since I have an s5 locked toATT with a good IMEI that I'm having the same issue with. I read into your thread.

I have tried this but unfortunately i do not get the options on my n910t, i am trying to use it in Malaysia and it was brought from USA, anybody can suggest me anything please to get the sweet phone working again. thanx

There are a few caveats here. It doesn't matter if you have a sim card in or not when unlocking a phone via this method. You only need a sim from a different carrier to test it, although there is a GSM code you can enter on the phone pad to bring up the screen to enter an unlock code manually. You do not need that or even any sim card in the phone for this service menu method.
Simply
1) Enter *#197328640# on the phone dial pad
2) Select [1] UMTS
3) Select [1] Debug Screen
4) Select [8] Phone Control
5) Select [6] Network Lock> Options
6) Select [3] Perso SHA256 DFF.
7) Go back one menu "Network Lock"
8) Select [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
9) Wait a few seconds, depending on your phone reboot.
If you can't bring up the service menu on step 1 try to dial *#22745927 to enable hidden menu...press back...then dial *#197328640#
Another caveat is that this only works on certain firmwares. Im running Maximum Overdrive 7.1.1 and the debug service menu is empty. See attached screenshot. For example on the Note 2 the only firmware i could find with the correct service menu is the very first original firmware release android v4.1.1 T889UVALJ1:_(4.1.1) (11/02/12) I had no issue downgrading from v6.0.1 and back again. You can put a custom rom back on, or whatever you want after you unlock the device as the changes are made in the NV memory and it is unaffected even by wiping out any and all of your file systems. You will simply lose access to those sections of the service menu with most custom or newer roms you flash but you should be easily able to bounce around via Odin with ease on the Note 4 AND 2.

[Q] Unlocking + Signal Issues post Flash and IMEI fix

Hi All,
I've trawled through this forum for quite a while and haven't yet found any answers or similar cases to the issue I'm currently having. Here's a summary of where I am at the moment with my i9305 LTE:
- Got a i9305 locked to EE.
- When EE quoted £20+ and 10-20 days for unlock I started looking at altenatives.
- For one of the alternatives, I flashed to get root and I believe I lost my IMEI. I didn't have an efs backup and was unable to restore via stock flashing.
- Luckily, I had a screenshot of my settings so I re-wrote my IMEI using QPST.
- Decided to go for the legit unlock this time so called EE and paid for the unlock code.
- Pre-root, when I put in my unsupported SIM I would get a prompt for an unlock code, but that doesn't have anymore. While waiting for the EE code, I found that when I inserted the unsupported SIM, I would sometimes be able to connect in very specific locations (e.g. certain places outside the house). Wi-Fi works perfectly.
- When the unlock code came, I attempted to enter it by getting to the prompt using "#7465625*638*#". Although, when I enter the code here, it does not accept it (I have an unlock and an unfreeze code, neither work).
- I have trialed the SIM in various other phones and have had no problems with signal at all, the problems arise when I place the SIM in the i9305.
- I have tried changing the modem, so far no luck...
No idea how to go about fixing this... At the moment I can't use it as a phone.

- Should I keep trying different Modems?
- I've tried to verify whether phone is locked or unlocked, but *#7465625# doesn't work, do you know any other ways that I can diagnose sim lock status?
- Will different ROMs or kernels help?

I attempted to sim unlock via the *#197328640# approach, but wasn't able to get it to work...
My current next hope is to try and restore my i9305 to the point where it asks for a code to unlock upon entering a new SIM again... Would really appreciate any help, Thanks!
