hey guys, so i've been thinking of updating my phone to the latest firmware, but the problem is that my USB port doesn't work very well. It takes me 10 to 15 mins to get the phone to start charging or connected to the computer. Sony won't repair the damn thing cause of excessive damage. I need to know if i can safely update without flashing FTF files which include the kernel. I also tried going to pure stock directly from Sony, but PC companion won't restore the phone since i'm on a custom ROM (Existenz Ultra 5). Can any provide me with the PCC firmware file of the latest release? or any other help would do.
Also, i cant enter flash mode since the port is damaged.
Sony PCC says it doesn't have any software for my phone even when i click the restore button.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can do. As far as I know, you cannot manually load firmware with the PC Companion.
I think the only thing you can do is to get your USB port repaired. Try to find a third party repair shop that will do it for you.

Hi All,
I'm looking to fix this S3 from this boot loop problem. It ended up in this problem from use, not by firmware changing.
ODIN Fails almost immediately when trying to Flash.

I've used the Firmware file name: I9305XXUFNI3_I9305DBTFNI3_DBT from a XDA forum page
This was running Stock Firmware (Grey Import) with root via Framaroot. No Custom Recovery or any Custom changes like Radio firmware).
Before my replacement phone arrive, I had a very similar problem one day and I attempted to do an ODIN Firmware flash to recover, it failed to flash then also but must have done something because my phone continued to work for another 3 months.
I have recovered everything I needed during this time but now I want to get this phone working again.
I can't see anything physically wrong with the phone and there isn't any water damage. I disassembled / re-assembled to check for any internal damage.
Please guide me where I should proceed from here.
One day, after my rooted tablet ran out of battery, it didnt boot anymore and there was black screen and something with kernel was written in a corner, i dont remember it, but the solution was that i unroot it and flash it with the right stock android.
I used ODIN and while it was like 25% percent flashed, the connection with the usb broke and then the flash failed and if it try it again, it fails again.
My tablet always loses the usb connection, it connects for a sec, then disconnects, then connects for a sec, then disconnects, maybe it even has loose contact on the tablet or the pc. (the samsung usb connect firmware is uptodate)
Now the screen is blue and it says: An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery funktion in the smart switch pc software.
Pls help me out, im a noob in rooting and co and need ELI5

Hey all,
I am very inexperienced with custom OS on Android and I was trying to install a lineageOS so that I can run octoprint on my tablet for my 3d printer. In doing so, I somehow deleted the stock OS.
Now my device either flashes the samsung logo (if I boot normally) or it can get to the download screen if I hold Power + Home + Vol Down. But I can't seem to get my computer to find the device, so I can't connect it with Odin. Do you know of any guides or threads you could point me to? Or how to fix this?
My model is SM-T713.
Thank you
I downloaded the stock firmware from here - https://github.com/ivanmeler/SamFirm_Reborn/releases/tag/0.3.6.3
I am trying to use odin to reflash it to my device, but it seems the device isn't being found.

Pressing Start in Odin does nothing. Is there something I am missing?
Fixed it, kind of. It was a bad cable. Switching out the cable allowed Odin to connect, it downloaded and passed, but it is still stuck on the samsung logo.
