I was down to help when I saw you are reppin NYC, but this lack of information makes me say uh uh.
MotoX Developer Edition went from German 4.4.2 to Great Britain 4.4.2 to T-Mobile 4.4.2 no problem. Fastboot FTW!

Different exploits like KingRoot, that worked on 5.0. There is not yet a root exploit that works on the stock 5.1 firmware.

I haven't followed root exploits much because I have an unlocked bootloader, but I believe Kingroot works on 5.0.2.
