[Q] Is there any Ics rom woth working camera ?

Is there any Ics rom woth working camera ?
i tried Medroid remix 1.4 Hw but camera preview doesnt work
the same withe txaice
but i saw some comment about Medroid 6.1 saying camera works ?
anyone knows something about that .

The camera and camcorder works, just the cam preview doesn't work

It's a known bug on HWA rom, on many device. Since you don't have the full HWA on those, it might never work.

Installed MeDroid 1.4.2 HWA and camera preview is still not working. Neither did in TexasIceCS Did you apply any of the ICS Camera HAL thread?

I can confirm with you that I had used Medroid V6.1 with zKernel #21. The camera worked and ROM was very smooth and stable.

I think it will just take a while until the camera is full working.

I also confirm.
TecasIce thinks hee has a solution for the preview. But until now it's a preview and no HWA or no preview and HWA.

Medroid mod NO HWA VERSION the camera preview work and have the all lasted updates and fixes

IIRC, Lithium76's MIUI ICS ROM has a working camera. Maybe not preview, though.

The camera preview being non functional is right now the only thing keeping me from giving ICS a try on my N1. Well, maybe I'll go for a HTC One S soon anyways, I just can't stand being left behind anymore.

The camera preview is now working on ICS ROMs (MedroidMod or Texasice) but you will have to willing to roll your sleeve up and do some work. If not, then the easy way is to get a new HTC One S

Camera is also working on BCM ICS CM9, which is highly recommended btw.

pardon for the silly question but where (and more importent how much) do we see a performance increase while implementing hwa?
is it only the UI that works smoother?
for now (on medroid 6.1 with working preview) the only thing i can put my finger on is the slightly lagy interface

One time, I have flashed a Rom 4.1.2 in this forum, it used 4.2 camera and all 4.2 camera feature ( gallery, app camera with function call " photo sphere" ) like this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965486, in that time I try flash
[MOD][ICS] Camera Mod v.4.1 Cybershot Experience in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918744 and I have a fully working camera sony in 4.1.2 ROM, I can take a picture with it, I also use 4.2 camera too but the ROM is daily used so I back to ICS mod ROM. I dont remember the name of Rom. I think we will have a ROM 4.1.2 with sony camera app full working in condition:
- This 4.1.2 ROM have to remove all camera app and feature ( gallery, app, lib,....) (CM10 camera or any camera)
- Ported full 4.2 camera with all feature (gallery, lib, etc...)
It mean the rom only used 4.2 camera. After flash this rom, booted one time and setup all (google acount, ...). Reset to recovery and flash [MOD][ICS] Camera Mod v.4.1 Cybershot Experience

I dont remember all, I just take some picture and It worked, sometimes I have FC but rarely. I am not a dev but I am sure

Maybe the rom you tried is jelly sandwich ,
It shows only android 4.1.2 in about phone but still it is based on

As I said, I have test many ROM on my arc day by day, I am sure it is 4.1.2 ROM, I know android version when I flash and test, I neednt look in setting to said about the version.Dont think everyone is amateur. I think many dev here can see my ideas, fxp maybe havent try my method yet

Sorry, It's not a daily used ROM, sometimes it had FC problem so I return to other 587 cooked ROM but I remember all when I flash this ROM

Maybe it's just some copying of libs

tired of samsung jb 4.1.2..please help

guys i am sick and tired of samsung jb 4.1.2 ddulp8..my dialer app lags(takes 6 seconds to load up sometimes) this is annoying..messaging/contacts app lags..and my whole phone freezes sometimes..wifi doesnt connect, keeps on getting obtaining ip address and this is a bug in samsung 4.1.2 firmwares as i confirmed it on youtube..i didnt have these issues in gingerbread..this stock JB rom eats so much RAM and it sucks..if was afraid of rooting my phone but no more..can someone suggest a better FIRMWARE ?? please help me out here..thanks

Look for cm10.1, you can install it from stock recovery and no need to root before.

try the cm10.2 or cm10.1 by team canjica.
they are super fast..

Threads are not updated.
I use 10.1 for some time, I think it is fastest ROM we have. I am not sure if WIFI direct is working, but I am not using it anyway.

I had ear phone problem with cm 10.1. On incoming calls earphn volume was very low nd I had to increase it every tym manually. Is it rectified in cm 10.2?

This issue has already been fixed in latest cm10.1 and cm 10.2 if flashed over ddulp8 indian stock rom.

so which rom has the more fixes cm10.1 or 10.2?

Try mackay, nice JB custom rom. But video bug is still der.kinda laggy recording videos though

Maybe those roms are based on lineageOS, and LineageOS has this issue, so all those roms have it

Maybe there is, what rom are you using?

I try all AOSP Roms (Lineage OS Official, CM 13.0, 12.1, 11, Resurrection Remix M, OmniRom 4.4 etc) I flashed Touchwiz Custom roms but in Touchwiz Roms Work very well but just in AOSP Custom Roms Doesn't Work :/

maybe it's a permissions problem, do you give all permissions to the app then force close it and open it again?, it's required in MM and above.

I gave it all permissions all apps which use Camera has on the camera permission (Sorry for my English) but yet no fix for it

I'm afraid you will have to wait for a fix, or keep trying other roms till you find a working one.
