Hi
Got the Z1 running 14.2.A.0.290 4.3
How do I get the Spotify widget (the one with the album art) to appear as a widget on the lock screen + button so I can have it on the lock screen?
I use the pattern lock, if that matters
The only thing I get from spotify is the simple controls on the lock screen, and that's only when spotify is running, and if you pause spotify this control disappears.
I'm thinking it might be a spotify rather than Xperia issue but you never know.
What determines which widgets are available to the lock screen? My 1Weather is, and HD Widgets come up in the list
Thanks

In HTC Sense, whenever I activate the display, I get the normal unlock screen which allows direct access to different apps by swiping the corresponding dock icons...
This normal lockscreen is ALWAYS shown, and if I have enabled a secure lockscreen (like pattern unlock or face unlock), this secure lockscreen is shown AFTER the first "normal" lockscreen.
Is there an AOSP/AOKP/CM based mod that can do the same thing?
edit for clarification:
Use case is the following: I use face unlock, but sometimes I just want to have a quick look at the lockscreen (widgets). But with cyanogenmod, as soon as I press the power button, my face gets recognized and the phone is unlocked. It's so quick that I can't even see the dashclock widget.
So it would be perfect to have a normal "slide to unlock" lockscreen (with different slide targets for different apps), and THEN the face unlock.
I don't get it why HTC Sense seems to be the only system that has this kind of behavior properly implemented
Follow-up: Now I use Widget Locker, it does exactly what I want.
another follow-up:
Unfortunately, Widget Locker has its own problems...
I have different apps that show music or other playback controls on the lockscreen (Play Music, TuneIn Radio, Yatse), and those don't work with Widget Locker.
So this brings me back to my original question... is there really no "not-Sense-based" rom that can display the normal "slide to unlock" screen before the secure lockscreen?
When I updated my s4 active to 4.4 I no longer see the Samsung music widget on the list of lock screen widgets, just watch on, calendar, s health and a few other apps but not the music widget. Anybody having this problem or know of a fix
I also do not have the option of putting a samsung music widget on the lock screen. This might be because 4.4 automatically detects most media apps and puts forward, play/pause and backwards controls on the lock screen for whatever app has media playing so samsung may have decided there is no need to include a music widget. Of course I could be completely wrong, but that seems like the most logical reason to me.

Hey all, I'm on the latest update there is for my C6903 and I have just noticed the music player controls no longer show on the lock screen when music is playing. It's not the end of the world as my headphones have music controls on them but it seems odd after all this time for them to be gone.
I've tried all the usual methods of adding widgets to the home screen but nothing changes, the clock remains!

Hi,
Do you have SmartKey installed on your phone by any chance? I've noticed that since the last update, the music control widget has disappeared from the lock screen which is quite annoying if you're using a headset with no remote control as I do. The only solution I've come upon until now is uninstalling this app. It used to be that if you disabled the 'music mode' on the app, the music control widget would reappear but that doesn't work anymore.

Excellent!! Thankyou for the answer, I seem to remember a similar problem on my old Z.

No problem. This thing drove me crazy once. By the way, I used my Xperia Z1 today and although I have SmartKey installed, the music widget is back on the lock screen. There has been no update since the last time I've used the phone and I haven't changed any of the settings. Quite weird...
One of the things that I miss from my Nexus and other prior pure Android devices is full screen lock screen album art. Does anyone know of a hack or workaround to get that on one's Note 8?
Thanks

If I remember correctly, there is a plug-in to muzei app which is a live wallpaper app. The plug-in give you the option to set the appropriate albom cover as a wallpaper with or without blur effect. You can try and find it and set it as your lock screen.
Hope it helps, update me
Samsung got rid of full screen lock screen album art in Lollipop.
I have customized my Lock screen using lockstar. So for quick access, I have three apps, that is, Camera, Flashlight and Spotify.
The first two work without unlocking phone, but I have to unlock the device in order to use Spotify. Is there a way to bypass the lock screen, but prevent someone from entering phone through Spotify.
For example, if using camera from lock screen, you can take pictures but when pressing home button, you are returned to lock screen. Can I do something with Spotify too?
Also, how do I enable Spotify controls like Scribble music and control volume and have Album Cover, because on lock screen I have nothing.
I use Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos, 128GB/6GB) if that helps
