Is there a way to remove the stock unlock screen so I don't have two while using widget locker? I would want to maintain my numeric lock.....I tried searching for a setting and don't see a way

after installing widget locker, you should not have your stock lock screen anymore. this is supposed to replace that....at least thats how it works on my phone.
Weird, cause I have both

Maybe it doesn't work well with cm6?

How does widget locker work?

I'm pretty sure it works by essentially creating another "launcher" or "homescreen" on top of your actual launcher (Sense, LauncherPro, ADW.Launcher, etc) that just shows up everytime you unlock the device. Think about QuickDesk, same principle.
U can always delete the htclockscreen.apk via adk
I read that if you remove that one that it gets replaced by a vanilla one??

Yes but it's not as simple as that. What happens when you do that is you end up with a messed up Vanilla lock screen... you can see what I mean here
http://geekfor.me/hero/fixes/vanilla-lockscreen/
You need to go a few steps further (as detailed in the website) to fix it
So I can either have two lock screens or just not use widget locker, from what I can tell by trying it out.....having two is defeating the purpose though...
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Widget locker should disable the lock screen if it's set up
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Yeah, I get that...just wish it worked lol....legit, when I wake my phone, I slide the lock on widget locker, no password needed, then my regular lock screen comes up, I slide and then put in my 4 digit password....
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Ah. Yes, I think if you have a security screen it does that. But not much you can do about it I think.

Yeah, I use it so my girlfriend doesn't find out about my girlfriend lol

If you are running CM7 you can go into the settings for CM7 and disable the lockscreen but when I do that its weird. When I slide the slider it goes to my pattern security but right before that i see my homescreen flash. Its like a glitch. This happens all the time smh. I expected Widget Locker to be more efficient.
Rather than using the slider at the bottom (WidgetLocker) I would like to just push the green "play/pause" button.
Is there widget maybe, that can unlock the lock screen? That would be easy to implement using a transparent icon.
No lock app or disabling the system lockscreen would mean you could unlock with any hardware buttons.

No, I want to unlock by clicking on a transparent icon which I want to put on the part of the wallpaper, that is the green "play"-button.

You could include an option to use a transparent icon, so people wouldn't have to use Desktop Visualizer.
So maybe I'm having a major brain.Gary and missing it someplace but can you not change the shortcut icons on the lock screen? Also, is the face unlock only a Nexus option or an ICS feature?

Face unlock works great for me I set time out to imediatly if that helps at all?

Yes, set it to immediately then it will ask for face or pattern unlock immediately after screen off.
The lock screen icons are the 4 shortcuts you have from the home screen shortcuts. Currently they are one and the same, and you cannot have a separate set for the lock screen.
When you change the dock apps they become the lock screen apps
Edited and erased because I'm dumb lol

Pirate Ghost has a custom ICS rom. check that out
Has anyone had problems with the lock screen widgets. I apply a widget but my phone won't unlock. When I swipe to unlock it just go right back to the lock screen. It just loops over and over. The only way to unlock the phone is to swipe on one of the shortcuts on the bottom of the screen to go to app from the shortcut but not the home screen.

No problems here....which widget did you use? I just used Google Now Cards and its working for me just fine.
Yep, happened to me too with dashclock widget. Will download a new lock screen to try. Probably a stock android one on the play store.

Looks pretty bad yeah, I used the analog clocks instead, still doesn't look good. But the problem is the widgets are not clickable. I read something about them not being scrollable too, which may explain why they're not clickable. I'm looking for a lock screen replacement that allows for widgets but no dice yet. Only that ugly lockscreen widget app.

Yep, that's what I mean. That's the problem I'm getting. They offer like 7 different lock screens yet they don't offer the stock android one. Still looking for a replacement lock screen. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

To add lockscreen widgets, go to settings > personalize > lock screen and change it to widgets
Any widget I used gets stuck in a loop and I can't unlock the phone. I had "battery widget reborn" and when I try to place it even on the home screen it locks the screen and it gets stuck. Maybe it's a bug in "battery widget reborn"?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4
I noticed to get the widgets to work, you have to drag down on the widget (you'll see a blue box being dragged down,) then you should be able to use it.
I ended up getting widget locker. It's actually pretty awesome. Thanks to HTC's 25 bucks haha. 3 bucks ain't so bad either. Now I have a stock lock screen with better widget support.
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I figured out the problem. I had to uninstall "battery reborn" app. It was causing a glitch in the lock screen. My widget now works like it should.

I can't seem to find a way to disable the weather and calendar widget on the lock screen. I have Exchange setup where I'm using Xposed to bypass the Exchange security requirements. Am wondering if this the cause of the widget showing up. Anyone having this same issue?

Do you want to remove it? Hold and drag down then hold the middle of the widget and you'll see a remove icon at the top appear.

I have tried that and holding the widget does not do anything on the lock screen. I want to remove it and just simply display a clock.

Its in settings/device/lockscreen/ clock widget options . Just set weather to never update, and uncheck dual clock and date.

Thanks for answering, but that's the first thing I did when I got the phone. I have checked all settings and can't seem to find out why it keeps appearing.

Settings > Device Tab > Lock Screen > Multiple Widgets (first option) to ON
then you can manipulate your lock screen widgets, including removing the stock one I believe, I use dashclock
edit: just tried it and turns out it just pops back up automatically if you try to remove it, sorry about that!
Yeah that's how I did mine you must got a bum device.

I had trouble with this too. Every time I removed it it would come right back the next time I unlocked my device.
Make sure you have multiple widgets enabled. Then add a 2nd widget (mine was dashclock).
I actually had to turn off all notifications for the stock messaging app in order to make sure that widget went away completely. Also go into the settings of the messaging app and disable the alerts from showing up on the lock screen. Not sure why that fixed it for me but it did...
+1 on this can you also just disable the notification on the lockscreen and just have text notifacation appear in status bar ? I want to delete the weather widget and have just daskclock on my lockscreen . Lockscreen notifications show over daskclock covering it up

Yeah I think I can emulate the original posters issue. Basically he and I did what others mentioned. However when I swipe left then right again, I still see weather widget and notification widget etc. Even after draging them to remove.
My bad I meant can you also just disable lockscreen popup notifications and only have status bar notification?I also want to know a way to get rid of the weather/calendar /time widget and have it come back.

I don't suppose App Settings can change the DPI just for the lock screen back to 480?

I havent been able to find the right app for it. I think its tied into the system ui. I did find a work around though. If you enable a pin code and set it to secure after an hour of inactivity it will disable the weather widget and only ask you for the code after a prolonged break in using your phone. Ive been doing it for a few days now and its only asked me for the pin like 5 or 6 times. Not nearly as annoying as that widget though haha

Yeah, I changed the DPI via build.prop and now they appear all the time as you said...
Any way to fix that? (maybe somehow using xposed app settings?)
If anyone is interested in just having a plain lockscreen wallpaper like myself(no weather no clock) just simply enable multiple widgets and delete the clock and add Invisiwidget from Google Play and you're all good.

I only found a workaround by setting pin code security and set my phone to lock after an hour. I use my phone so often it very rarely asks me for the code and I haven't noticed any negative battery life from it

I just figured out how to do it. There should have been a setting under lock screen that disabled the widget but in my lock screen settings it only asks what preferences I want. The weather widget on mine said AccuWeather.com on it so I searched for that and found it in my widgets that came on the ROM, ie you can't uninstall it. My device is rooted so I used one of those app freeze apps to locate the widget and disable it. Restart phone, all good. The app I used was called disable manager. The icon is a green android with a No symbol in front of it. It gives you two lists, one apps, the other system processes. The widget was under System tab under the name weather widget. Hope that helps. Took me a couple weeks to figure that out!
