Have you tried formatting the SD card (FAT32)? I too have a 32GB class 10 with 27+GB of music, but I have no problem with the files.

I got same SD as you, but without the problems. Maybe the mounting doesn't work probably on either PC or phone, or you unmounted the SDcard wrong from the PC.
Ive noticed this, deleting files on random times..
i have a 64GB class 10 in mine ,and everything is good
Put the SDcard in your phone and select in settings > Storage > Wipe External SD.
Connect it to your computer again. Put music on it and try again. If it still deletes you need to run a HD check on your SD. Could be that the I/O is defective.
Also; put questions next time in the correct place
Not had the same issue but something very similar.
I had 2 sdcards both by sandisk one a class 10 32gig the other a 32 gig class 4.
When using folder mount app to mount games obb files after maybe 2-3wks they both started to play up not being recognised by phone but working on computer.
Got a TDK 16g class 4 BUT not using folder mount... the card is running happy with it and used for movies and music.
It seems maybe that folder mount in my case was causing the probs with the script it ran and led it to causing the cards to fail.
If you have used folder mount would suggest to stop and get another card.
I don't have any suggestions in how to solve your problem but only another option based on my findings.

I bought a Team 8Gb SDHC class 6 and the HTC freeze and work very very slowly. No obstanding, with the card readers works fine.
In memory mode (HD2) works more less (3Mb write and 6.2Mb read), but the phone works too slow. I power off the phone and change the card to the original Sandisk 2Gb and works nice.
IS there any way to fix it?
I'm assuming you tried formatting it in your PC? Maybe try using a different block size. Others have had success with this technique for various card issues. It's worth a shot.

I didn't format with the PC, I formatted with the SD format tool in HD2. I'll try from the PC.
this happened because you probably have a large music library on the sd card. the htc sense music tb hangs in large libraries

No, I have no music on it. I have some pictures (no too much), a few videos, igo 8, tomtom 7, 2 ebooks and 1 pdf.
I just copy the content from my original SD Sandisk 2Gb (included with the HD2) to the new one (8Gb). With the 2Gb works pretty fast and with the 8Gb is very very slow or sometimes it hangs.

that's the only thing i hate about my hd2. i use a 16gb card and when i hit the music tab, id have to wait 25 seconds before anything comes up. i do have a large music library with about 2500 songs. is there ANY way to keep this from occuring?
I just returned a defective sandisk 8gb SD card.. sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.. if i worked it was veeery slow..
@oscar8x
I am having the same problem with my Team 16 gb sdhc class 6 card as well. Now I saw that you had the same problem, I am a little concerned. I formatted it using my PC but apparently that does not make much difference.
Also, I found the card rather slow not as fast as it is claimed to be. What do you think?
I would be really happy if there is solution to make it work. I can't get past entering the PIN phase.

I think it's a fake class 6 card, but I gonna try it on another phone (N97 mini) and I'll see how it works. I'll post que results
Try formatting it in FAT 32 but block size should be 4096 - use windows 7 to format card

Delete "Application Data" folder on the sd and let the device rebuild a brand new one.
I had a similar problem with a kingston 16gb, solved in this way

Yes, that was the problem. I formatted the card and I copied all folder excluding "Application Data" and it's working right now.
Thanks for your answers.
So, I purchased 8GB SanDisc micro SD card 4-5 months ago and it started to acting weird. When browsing pictures, some pictures have glitches meaning half picture is bluish and half greenish, sometimes redish.
Disconnecting and connecting SD card solves the problem but after several days problem continues. Few days ago I received message that my SD card is broken and it needs to be formatted. I formatted it and it worked 2-3 days and then again started to act weird.
Is my SD card broken or maybe it is phone? Someone else with such experience?
Thanks.
Same story here. This has happened with 2 out of 3 cards i have owned.

Really strange. It is important to detect are there really broken SD cards or our phones make bad SD card under some conditions/roots/ROMs. Hmmm....
First: when you will have such message, remove it and try to access it on PC. If it will work on PC - then it is the phone problem.
If not... well, where have you purchased it? SanDisc cards are covered by Lifetime Warranty, and thing what you have to do is to make claim.
Of course, if you have bought it for bargain price on eBay from China, then...
Thanks. I bought it in Mediamarkt, regular store for IT accessories. I will make a claim if this problem repeat.
I had the same problem with 16GB sandisk card so replaced it (JB hifi - reliable Aus store who replaced it for free). Same prob with new card though. both cards reformatted many times but still no joy.
photos taken with phone cam and saved to int SD no problem, but every so often if saved to ext SD the glitch occurs. Photos taken with a digicam then transferred to SD same prob - randomly in gallery won't show some photos properly.
Also discovered that videos made on pc (like clips from films my son likes) but put on ext SD often don't play well or stop before end of clip - no problem if saved to int SD.
I figured it was a bug with the SGS in dealing with files on ext SD - super annoying but have basically accepted it as can't find anyway to fix it!
FYI Recuva is a great program to retrieve lost files

forgot to mention that on my phone, it only seems that photos or videos are affected by this glitch.
I have mp3 files, homemade ringtones and word docs on the ext SD and so far (touch wood) haven't had any problems with using them or viewing them etc.
DoctorV, exact my story. I am assuming that problem is in SGS, although I tried Sandisc 4GB card and 3 days without problems. As soon as I put back Sandisc 8GB, problems started. Very strange and annoying.

Interesting - wonder if it has anything to do with the size of the SD card then? From memory my 2nd 16GB card had no problem for 3 or 4 days too before the issue happened again. Let us know if your 4GB continues to do ok - I may try a smaller card if yours seems to work ok.
thanks
I had 8G SanDisk - no problem for 3 mths, when I replaced it with Sandisk 16G. both were class 6. the second one - 4mths in sgs now - no problem at all.
@doktorV you, in australia, are too close to China, you know
Additional question: which gallery viewer are you using? Both, you that have problems with SD card and you that never had problems with SD card?
I noticed that in QuickPic I picked picture, picture is opened with errors (strange colors or even 3/4 picture is missing) and when I open same picture in stock gallery viewer few minutes later, everything is fine. After opening same picture in QuickPic, it is OK.
After 1-2 hours problem repeats. It is really seems like SW problem and not problem with SD card. Don't know...
I dont know if there is still some activity here..
My sd-card (lexar 8gb SDhc ) is recognized by pc and phone.. after insert it scans.. scan is ok. then a few second - minutes is says sd card is broken and needs to be formatted after format it goes to scan scan ok ... and again broken repeat....
is this a problem with my sd card ? does it matter if its an regular SD or an SDhc ?
and when I format in on pc in wich sort should it be ? stock of ext3 ? or anything like that ?
since im on custom rom now I can format it in my phone ( darknight 4.0.4, when I click format sd card it formats the wrong sd card so I cant use this option )
but its not in the custom rom, had the phone on stock 2.3.6 and the same problem was there. ( also on stock 2.3.3 same problem )
Can I conclude this actually is a '' broken card '' or can I change the settings and make it work ?
thanks in front....
hi, i have a micro sd 4gb class 6 and my phone works fine, When i put the original micro sd 8gb class 2, the notification icon of "preparing SD" doesn't dissapper and when the screen go off i can't turn it on because never shows me the screen, only the inferior buttons lights on (nothing i can press) and i have to pull over the battery to make the phone works, i put a micro sd 8gb class 4 and the same happens, i've tried to increase the cache memory to 2048 bytes using "SDBOSTER" and nothing happens with the micro sd 8gb, but my micro sd 4gb works faster.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem? i want more space in my external memory.
I'm using original eclair 2.1-update ROM
Hey jp23,
I recently encountered this problem with my stock 8 GB class 2 card, while transfering files in bulk to the card. I use linux on my laptop and there is a known bug in one of the drivers which causes failures while tranfering large amounts of data in one go. For me it caused the same issue, and thats usually because the card is temporarily corrupted.
For me the fix was buying a microSD card adapter and formatting the card once through the computer and not the phone. I also bought a 16GB class 4 card in the process.
I suggest formatting your card via a card reader or adapter and then trying it on your phone. Although I find it odd how both of your cards can have the same problem. Hope this helps.
I've tried this before and works when the card storage it's <1gb, when i put some mp3 files and pass 4gb or more the same thing happen.
i don't know what to do...

Did you do a scan and repair using windows? That fixes it for me
format it with LLF low level format from hd guru, it always fix my sd card whenever it corrupted.
My card it's not corrupted, i've checked that before.
I bought a micro sd 8gb class 4 and set format as fat32 and put it on the phone, then i connected to the pc using sd adapter to put some music and videos, and when i put the sd back to the phone got the same issue...
I updated to BRAVO yesterday and have no solutions for my micro sd 8gb class 4
i have a similar issue with my 8gb stock sd card too, when i try to open the media gallery or push the media gallery button, my phone shows me that there's a problem with read/write into the sd card... =(
always it says me : "Failed to Read/Write SD Card" and also i cant record any hd video cuze when i try to do it, the video get freeze and stop to record ..
im thinking to buy another sd card, maybe 10 class ..

Here is a reason and fix for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262030&highlight=failed
But I do recommend getting a c10 card for the speed.
I have same problem, you should update your phone to 2.3, you will out of this.
I just purchased a Micro Innovations Wireless keyboard for my Zaurus-SL5600, but theres a problem; I dont know how to physically set it up to work. I can type with it, and the Z recognizes it fine, but the problem is that the Z has its infra-port on its side, so I cant use the stand The keyboard has it just above the w key, and I dont know how I could rotate the screen.. Does anyone have any ideas?
Yack
Too bad with micro sd
i use an Xperia TL with generic JB Rom, since past few days I get a message "SD Card Removed unexpectedly" and then says scanning SD Card.
Though I never touched anything!
It happens when i try to update senseme feature in walkman, its pretty annoying coz I have 820 tracks and its pain in @SS to resume it every few minutes.
Am I alone or is anyone else in the same boat?
Its a 32GB Sandisk Class 4 card.
The card is not corrupt, as nothing is lot, just that it says SD Card Removed
Try to reformat your sd-card, maybe some strange glitch

I think the sd card is a screw up as I formatted it multiple times on the laptop (Quick format) and even on the phone.
I'm asking the shop to replace it with a class 10 32 gig card.
I did a search and seems am not the only 1, even Samsung Galaxy S3 users are crying in the toilet with this issue.
I am also experiencing this issue with my class 4 san disk micro sd card. Just bought a class 10 will let you know if problem still occurs after sd card is replaced.
I changed to a 32 GB class 10 card yesterday evening, facing absolutely 0 issues.
Previously while downloading music info in sense me (700+ tracks), it used to throw an error that mem card removed after 29 tracks or so and I had to start all over again (was absolutely pissed!), and my favorite marked tracks were also gone once that error showed up.
Not anymore
Btw am using a Samsung Class 10 card (for anyone who is interested)
Interesting. Thanks for posting this. Not to further switch the topic to a different device, but this happened to me on my S3 also. I am using a Sandisk Class 10 64gb MicroSDXC. After it happened, I thought "weird..." Later on, I noticed 3 folders' names had been corrupted (for example, GAME_ROMS changed to ûAMERO~1 or something like that) and the contents of the all 3 folders was gone (deleted - I could tell because the GAME_ROMS folder had 6 gigs or so of games, and aside from it being empty, I had 6 more gigs of free space than usual.)
Thankfully I haven't seen that happen on my Xperia T (yet)... though I've only had it for a couple of weeks... knock wood.
Searched around a bit but couldn't find what i was looking for.
Basically, my SD card keeps unmounting then mounting when trying to install apps, play music and when transferring files via PC.
The card I am using is SanDisk Ultra MicroSD HC 16GB. It worked perfectly in my S3 with no problems what so ever.
Any ideas as to why it's behaving this way?
Cheers

The same thing happened with my ADATA MisroSD HC 16GB class 10 card with my S2 and with the Xperia Z so my guess is that the card is gona "die" soon.
Cheers for the heads up, I've backed all my data up and put an 8GB Kingston in and seems to be ok so I'll see how it goes.
