I'm a new user of HTC One, Android Version 4.4.2, 5.5 HTC Sense.
I bought Deus Ex The Fall from Google yesterday but every time I install it, run it, and click on ANYTHING on the menu, it says "Unfortunately, Deus Ex The Fall has stopped" and then quits.
I don't understand, I re-downloaded and reinstalled, I even reset the phone to factory, still does NOT work. I did not root my phone. I paid around $7.50AUD for the game. I just cannot get it to work.
I know some forum users here got their game to work but I'm unable to see how. Can someone please assist me?

Yes but what your missing is that they are running a custom rom. Also without a logcat there is not much anyone can tell you. You could get 100 people saying it works fine for them and another 100 that says it doesnt work. But without any real info from a log cat there is nothing anyone can say or do to help

Does anyone know anything about market enabler? From what I understand we may be able to use it to see/download market apps that we can't see with 2.1. I am not sure if it works. I installed it but I really don't know what settings to use or whatever. If anyone wants to test it out and see if it makes a difference, download attached.

Where did you get this file from?
I briefly read about market enabler on a hero thread somewhere. It sounds like people use this for better market access with cooked ROMS.
I got the actual .apk from here: http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/downloads/detail?name=MarketEnabler_3.0_beta.apk&can=2&q=
I did very little testing as I am not missing any apps specifically.
Seems like you may need root to use this one :\
It keeps saying "We Got a Problem Houston " every time I try something.

Anyone having Market issues? Anything I searched in market cannot be found. I flashed back to stock and it is trying to download "Market 1.47" and failing. If I go to Market then "Downloads" tab, I see "Market 1.47 Pubsite Test 1" When I click it, I see "Updated version of Market for testing"
When I update to new market by installing the APK I get Your device may not be compatible with Android Market when searching.
If you have this issue, please post here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=55c997eccabf0a6a&hl=en

Sounds like a job for a flash to stock and a master clear, my friend. What ROM are you trying to run where it's not giving you any search results, and was it the new market, or the old market?

Yes, I master cleared and reflashed 10 times back to stock. Even reloaded Perception ROM same issue. I even tried loading the new market from the APK. When I search the Market, I get a pop up "Your device may not be compatible with Android Market." I have no idea what could have caused this. For some reason, it seems the Market can no longer identify my device.
Any ideas? I am basically stuck now since I cannot load anything unless I have an apk.

Yes - I went further than that. I wiped everything possible in Clockwork Recovery. Flashed and reflashed. I think this is out of our hands at this point. The more people that report this to google here the better:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=55c997eccabf0a6a&hl=en
and it would not hurt to bombard Samsung with phone calls so they take some action with Google as well. Even if they say reset the phone, if they get 50+ cases of people calling in complaining, a light bulb might eventually light up in their retarded brains to contact Google for a solution.
What is the phone number for Samsung Galaxy support?

No idea but it appears that it is only some Samsung Galaxy users from Captivate, Vibrant and Galaxy Tab. We appear to be stuck on some test version of the market and reflashing or wiping everything does not work. Neither does loading older or newer versions of the Market app. Please post at google if you have the issue:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=55c997eccabf0a6a&hl=en
Call and nag Samsung and Google as much as you can (when they are open):
Samsung - 1 800 726 7864 Option 1 then 2 then 1 then 6 then 2 then 4
Google - 650-623-4000
Believe me, I have been doing technical support for 17 years and when you get a large number of people calling, something gets done more quickly.
There are several posts here for fixes to get the full Market and I'm one of the unfortunate that none of these fixes work for me. Different roms, countless restarts and FC never worked. I was talking to a friend and he told me to download market enabler. Further digging pointed to me MarketAccess - an updated version without the ads. From what I've heard, Android Market will limit what you can 'see' depending on the service/carrier you have with your cell phone. And since we're on a tablet, that may be why some of us are SOL.
Market Access will trick Android Market into thinking you have a cell phone carrier with your tablet. For example, I chose T-mobile for the U.S. and I now have Kindle and Nook; two apps I couldn't download before.
I'm going to continue testing this and see what else I can get. For now, those were the two I couldn't see and I now have them installed through the Market.
You can find MarketAccess be googling... yes, Market Access. The site should be amip.tools (can't post links yet)
Is this what your talking about?
http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
Are you sure this is safe and legal?
That's it. I didn't see anything that would make this illegal. Do you?

I would love to be able to access the full Market too but I am, like you, one whose attempts to fix Market did not work. However, unlike you, even with the fix you led me to, my gtab continues to not be able to see the full Market apps. Bummer. But thanks anyway.

Reggie, Did you try different carriers when running the app? Some apps may be specific to the cell phone service.
Which apps are you looking for anyway?
Yeah this fix didn't really work for me either. Honestly if I need an app badly enough and its not showing I just download to my phone back it up to my dropbox app folder and sideload it right from dropbox on mt g-tab. Works great for me and I have a backup or the app also.
I'm giving it a try and see what it does.

Hi,
The webpage says:
"MarketAccess, as well as MarketEnabler requires root available on the device. It means than you need to unlock your phone and install the su application which will manage permissions for other apps that want to get root on the device. Google for details."
Jim
I tried this to look for a specific app. Upon further inspection I don't see anything in there using this that wasn't in there using the Market Fix. Am I missing something? For what its worth, I'm looking for Colorize Widgets.
Thanks for your reply Jim. I must have misunderstood. I thought ecatapano's fix avoided using MarketAccess and MarketEnabler by accessing and "drop boxing" apks from an Android phone then sideloading them to the g-tab through drop box. I just don't know how to get the apks from the Droid to the drop box.

I've seen mention of using Astro file manager to backup, which I guess puts the APK on sdcard, then you have to have dropbox installed on your Droid, and you can then send the APK to dropbox.

I installed the market enabler,or whatever its called. I defaulted to t mobile as my carrier. I'm not certain what you are supposed to do for setup after that. So I went back into Market and found Colorize Widgets. I'm not convinced market enabler had any influence though. Any feedback on using market enabler is appreciated.
I tried it, set to tmobile USA. Still can't see
Adobe flash
adobe air
Firefox
tank hero
I couldn't see colorize Widgets after setting similar so I did market fix - clear cache etc. Then could see it, but still not others above.

Many thanks to Dizzy's IMEI fix!!!
Great program to get an IMEI number on our NC and allow apps like HBO Go to work.
Great thread (Dizzy's) on this in the Dev forum. It was a little intimidating for this rookie but I figured what the worse that could happen. Took me two tries (cause I had an old Java version) but now I have HBO working, more comfort & knowledge about the NC with ADB, etc.
This forum is fantastic!!!! I knew if I got in trouble there would be help on this forum. Thanks for all you guru's out there who have made this possble.
You're lucky...I can't seem to get it working for the life of me. I altered the framework file using the latest IMEI generator from Dizzy and that worked fine but when I run HBOgo, all I get is the spinning cursor and then an error telling me that "some videos are not available at this time" or something.
I've updated to the latest CM7 release candidate over the weekend hoping that would solve it but nope.
Perhaps my kernel or flash version need updating? I really don't know what the problem is...everything else on the Nook works perfectly.

Have you downloaded the LCD Resolution app? I read a thread here somewhere that said to get that app, then change the density to 160 and check the box that says to do it every time you boot. This makes your market app work a lot better. I was able to get HBO Go from the market after doing this. If it doesn't work for you, I'll post the apk.
Not sure if this has been questioned already, I'm having a mess around with a few ROMs on my HTC One, if I install a ROM with Sense/HTC ROM on the phone it all works perfectly fine and flawlessly, as soon as I install a Google Edition ROM or CM etc it wont let me download any apps giving me the Error 403 on the Play Store. I've tried all the solutions and none work, wondering if anyone shares the problem or knows a fix.
Thanks, Dan.
Seems like you're out of luck if you've tried "all the solutions".
Sarcasm aside, list what you have done so people know what you've done, how you did it and then maybe they can offer some assistance.

Well by all the solutions I mean I've literally spent hours doing all the obvious ones, clearing proxies, clearing Google Play Services, Play Store and the Download Managers caches, datas etc. Removed my account, rebooted whilst doing all this. Signed in with a different Google Account, I literally cannot find another solution anywhere, sorry for being vague.
It must be a problem on Google's side. The same thing occurs with my Xperia Z, and I've tried all the fix suggestions on both stock and PA 4.0

Maybe it can help:
FEB 11, 2014
Google Play Store is experiencing yet another partial downtime and is bringing up the dreaded 403 error message for a good number of Android users.
Actually this error has come up once in a while, often randomly and without any explanation given afterwards. It's not exactly a fatal error but it does prevent users from downloading or updating apps. It can be an annoyance and an inconvenience at worst.
Unfortunately for users, there isn't really anything they can do about it, other than wait, and maybe complain.
