Hi...looking for help as I can`t find a resolution to this ...I have connverted my HTC one to a GPE running 4.4.2 just cos i wanted to try it.
is there any way of remapping the home/back buttons as you can in the stock sense ROM so that long press home is Menu swipe up for Google Now etc...
can`t see it anywhere in the options and hate seeing the ... menu button taking up scren space in applications.
Thanks
Rick

You could try TeamSeven's kernel. It has options to make the HTC logo into a menu button and offers some swap options as well.

I'm running it on a GPE rom without issue.

So I've seen the kernels that will allow you to make the HTC logo act as a capacitive menu button. Has anyone looked into completely remapping all the buttons?
I'd like to see the HTC logo be the home button and the current home button turned into the menu button.
Would that be possible? Inquiring minds want to know.
I still haven't switched to Nova Launcher, I'm happy with sense atm, but when it auto downloaded on initial setup, the HTC logo brought up the home selector.. Seems like nova will let you customize use.

I'm running Nova. I don't recall seeing that during the set up. There are a lot of settings to change the CURRENT Home button into whatever you'd like it to be but nothing on mapping the "HTC Button".

I think that would definitely be possible. I'd suggest posting in the kernel thread to see if this is something the dev would look into
Is it possible to Map the HTC Logo to be a multitask button (By default multitask is double tap on home for the HTC ONE) and long press for menu? I know the button could be mapped but I hadn't seen anyone use this combination before. If this is possible, can someone please make a rom/kernel for it?
NOTES:
Sprint HTC ONE
Sense 5 with this mapping would be appreciated

There is nothing about a multitask remap in that, I would need it to make it so I can press for multitask, then long press for menu
I just flashed cm10.2, and I noticed there's no option to have the htc logo work as a menu button like in 4.2
Is there any sort of fix for this?

i think it's there by default
Double tap the home button.
Or was it press and hold?
Either way, CM decided that the HTC logo button wasnt as good.
Expect the logo2menu to be implemented soon.

Press and hold gets you recent apps, double tap the menu. There is a settings item to change this but doesn't seem to have any effect currently.
Hi, I'm coming from a nexus 4 and I really would like to have my old three button layout here on my htc one, I've read in other threats that the HTC logo can be set up to be a home button, so the only piece left in the puzzle is how to set the original home button to open recent apps... I don't want to flash the Google play edition rom or any other ROM, just wish to know if there's a way to remap the original home button to recent apps so I finally get my nexus 4's old and sweet button layout... Thanks in advance guys!
Hi,
Your thread has been moved to the proper subforum. Please be mindful where you make posts in the future.

You'll need an unlocked bootloader but this kernel allows you to remap the HTC Button as "Home" and the Home button as "Menu". That's, from what I've seen far, the closest you'll get.
I am running stock GPE android 5.1 (though my phone came with Sense). I want to change the capacitive buttons to match the normal google layout i.e. I want to enable the htc logo as the home button and change the home button to display recent apps. Is there a simple kernel that will just do this and nothing else? If not is there a simple kernel that will just enable the htc logo as a button and not give me options to overclock or change a bunch of other stuff? Thanks for your help.

I don't know exactly if you can do that specific option with this kernel, but ElementalX has the aroma installer so you can leave everything stock without having to overclock and you enable just the features you want. I'm running it with Logo2Menu, so maybe there is an option to change the button arrangement. Doesn't hurt to give it a try.

You don't want that feature trust me. It doesnt turn the logo as a button, but puts the sensor a little bit above it, so when you are typing you accidentally open the stupid menu and hit something random, and next thing you know, you are in a video call with someone from madagascar. Trust me dude, you dont want this stupid feature on the htc one m7.
You can also just enable soft keys too instead of using the physical buttons.
There is an app somewhere that actually uses the space above the logo, but this is different then the kernel. I just used the elementalx kernel (which was my backup plan if I didn't find something better). I can't do logo2home and home2recents like I wanted to, but I don't have any problem with accidentally hitting the logo button instead of space. I guess this could be because I usually swipe to type, but I'm testing it now and I have to be off the screen before it hits the button (though just barely). Overall I'd say definitely worth it for me.

Yeah, but if there's already a space for the button...
