Hi guys,
I just bought, Xperia A which is Japanese version of Xperia Zr but with 32 Gb internal storage.
Recently I flashed the Xperia Zr ftf and its was work great
I just notice that xperia Zr Rom only read 8GB of my internal storage.
Anyone know how to make XPERIA zr Rom able to read all of my storage?.
Ps: if someone trying to flash xperia zr Rom make sure you backup your internal storage first. Because it will deleted the Xperia A emulated storage.
maybe you can tinker with the partitions, fstab and such. regret that i don't have first hand experience on this. you can google about it. spend some time researching and please report back and let the others know how it goes.
thanks.
I using Xperia A with ZR rom without problem.
Just flash FTF with excluding Partition and format Internal memory on the phone.

Thanks and its solved my storage problem
I downloaded the Xperia A ftf and it's not contain partition.sin
So I repair the phone using SUS and reflash the Xperia ZR ROM without partition.sin
And now the phone read all of my storage.
Somehow when I flash Xperia ZR partition.sin I was able to turn on NFC
but with Xperia A partition.sin, NFC is not working. But its fine I rarely use NFC
Does this phone work on all network bands that ZR supports?
850/900/1700/1900/2100??

Hi,
I'm new on this forum because I just bought the Xperia Z which is my first Android smartphone. I have been using iPhone before.
To make sure that I have a copy of Android 4.1 (before Android 4.2 is released), I followed this guide to create an .FTF file of my current firmware. At step 14 (Device Selection), the Xperia Z was not in the list, so I clicked 'Cancel'. An .FTF file was created anyway, but does this mean that the file is incomplete and that I should wait until Flashtool has been updated for the Xperia Z? Once I have a complete firmware file (Generic DE), I'll certainly share it on this forum!
Since I forgot to backup my pictures before the firmware restore with SUS, I lost the nice bundled sample pictures that came with my phone
Would anybody care to send them to me?
Cheers!

1. Are you using the latest version of Flashtool? Flashtool-0.9.10.1b2, If not, get it from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907
2. Here are the bundled pictures http://www.mediafire.com/?5qhwhutq0mam6
I used v0.9.10.1, which I downloaded from androxyde.github.com.
I'm downloading v0.9.10.1b2 now. If everything works out, I'll probably upload the .FTF file within a couple of days, since I have a very slow connection at my current location.
Thanks for the pictures also. They don't seem to be all the same though. I remember more of the colourful ones. They might differ depending on the customization.
here u go folks my 2nd contribution to the Xperia Z tablet development
The 10.3.1.C.0.136 firmware in FTF format from the UK unbranded SGP312 32GB GB/B model, Enjoy

Thanks for this.:good:
I've previously used the .370 FTF you posted on my 311 to get myself out of a mess. Worked fine.

Have you experianced any issues flashing a 32gb firmware onto a 16gb device? does everything show correctly under storage?
I messed up mine too and had to flash a German firmware to my UK device but want to flash back to UK.

I didn't use it for very long - it was just a "stepping-stone" when I was trying to get root on 4.2.2
So I did very little more than install gapps, boot it up, use Play store, download, install & configur SuperSU.
I may have used RootExplorer to check the content of my external SD card...but I'm not 100% sure

What version are you running on now?
I've just flashed it myself and there's no apparent issues but I'm desperate for the UK 16GB FTF. Did you update to 32GB 4.2.2?

I'm using the latest PAC 4.3 Nighlty ROM at the moment - though just about to try a CM10.1 (4.2.2) "experimental" which has GPS fixed (this has been a problem with all the custom ROM using 4.2 or 4.3).
I've been off work recovering from an operation - so I'm filling my time flashing ROMs  - one of the advantages of unlocking my bootloader - but I wish I'd read about backing up the TA partition before unlocking - I've lost all my Sony DRM stuff :crying:
Flashed this FW and a different one to test, but can't seem to get Google Now on either.
When I swipe up from the bottom I get Google search and it looks like Google Now but there's no cards.
Is it just me or has Now been dropped?

Yep, I am running this on a 16GB device for UK !
What I need to do is to come up with a way to "copy" an "installed" Xperia Z to a new phones that are right out of the package.
Preferably without using an sd-card, without unlocking the bootloader and using a linux PC.
The "installed" source phone is/has:
- rooted
- applications installed
- settings made
- a known/fixed firmware version
I looked already at nandroid, adb backup, CWM, TWPR, flashtool, sony update service but I do not see the full picture yet
I guess it should be possible to build an image out of the modified phone which can than be flashed using flashtool.
But:
- It seems nandroid Backups are not compatible and there is no converter?
How to achieve this?
Another solution might be to use recovery backup and boot into recovery without actually installing it on the "mint" Xperia Z.
I have not tried this yet and I don't know if this is really possible.
I think this solution would need an sd-card and a maybe an unlocked bootloader?
Heimdall/Odin solutions are not working on Xperia Z AFAIS?
A hint in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

I have no experience in making flashable files, so I would just make a nandroid backup, root the new device, CWM->restore. should not be a problem. If you fear cross-restoring is going to break something (never did cross-restore myself...) just update the new device to the same FW as the old device and CWM->advanced restore->restore data. Remember that in this process, data on the sd card needs to be moved seperately, it is not included in a CWM backup. i suggest to move the contents of the internal and external sdcards first and then restore.
hope this helps, good luck

Thanks for replying. The sdcard-content is not an issue, since there will be none.
As it comes to the firmware, I did expect a complete CWM backup will include the complete firmware. Will it not?
However, I see that this might be the most feasible solution, but this does involve quite some manual steps on the source phone.
What I am looking for is a fool proof procedure like plugging in an USB-cable and wait :cyclops:

It will.example: If you make a nand of the .434 and flash the .67, then you can restore the older version if you need. You dont have first to flash the 434 again.
