[Q] kernel flashing

When trying to flash a custom kernel in CWM is there any extra steps that need to take place like when u flash a rom. As in factory wipe or clearing the dalvik cache. I've searched through this forum and the O3D one and haven't found anything. And I'm running doomed froyo if that helps.

No

I always wipe the dalvik just out of habit, no need to wipe anything else.

[CM7] What have i done wrong??

Hi devs, today im gonna need some help.
Lets say i wanna flash CM7 Into my OB, these are the steps i have done.
OB SPECS:
2.2.2 v10a GBK ROOTED
1) Download CM7.zip from ROM Manager
2) Reboot into recovery
3) install zip from sd card
4) done!
5) Phone auto reboots and loops at CM7 BOOT Screen
6) Re-flashed From SFT back to v10a
7) Re-installed CWM and recovery
8) This time i downloaded CM .ZIP from the cyanogen's site from my pc and transferred to my phone's sd card
9) Repeats steps 3-5
WHY MUST I GET TROLLED!???
Have you done wipe data and cache?
I think changing from froyo to GB you need to do factory reset...
First make a backup using titanium backup or sth like that, then wipe data, install CM7 from zip, boot and then restore your data from titanium backup.
edit:
nevermind.. "Re-flashed From SFT" sounds like you did.

After you install the ROM, don't leave the recovery and wipe data, cache and dalvik cache...
Then reboot...
So just wipe again after installing the rom??

There already are topics about "best roms" etc, but i think you should try them all and decide on your own which one is best for you
Thanks

I like cm7,zeus ; respectively in descending order
But it's up to you what to choose
Try and keep which you like
But never forgot to back up before changing rom

Help

Anyone know why my HTC one has 27 gb out of 32gb used on my phone under the "other" tab under storage in my settings?
I performed a factory reset thinking it would erase all and give me more storage but itsthe same. Is this the way the one comes? I thought there was way morewhen I purchased phone.

Have you been doing nandroid backups in recovery? Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage and see if it can help you find what's taking space.

I've done a few backups lately with Rom manager
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
nandroids consume lots of space. If you want to clear all, you can go to TWRP, then wipe -> advanced -> internal memory. It'll wipe your whole sd!
Did you by any chance encryrpt your storage?

[Q] How can I format XZ inbuilt SdCard ?

Hello,
I currently am rooted and LB using either :
- Xtenz V6.6 or
- Rooted stock from Nut
Both based on 101 version.
So, even when I format/wipe data or do a factory reset, I stayed with all data's within the inbuilt SdCard.
What I want to do is a really Clean install, wiping all (except external SdCard) but keeping rooted device to install either Xtenz or other custom or stock rooted rom.
Any advices ?

Simple.
Settings/storage/format (or erase) internal memory (or USB) storage.
As simple as it sounds.

I will try it without the external SdCard as I only have format SdCard underneath the external.
I ll keep you posted

As you are going to remove external_sd card, you can surely format your phone's internal memoria storage
