Hi!
I bought the Z1, and I do not regret it. Some bug screen, and other small stuff but good
I just talk to you because I am a beginner in android and I do not know what to do for my rooter device. So, I have already been able to untap the overlay of my operator. Now I am. 136 non-root and I realize that many things are accessible via root.
I would like, if you have time, kindness and patience, give me a little tutorial to be root in .136. While I've seen some stuff about that, but there was loss :/ IMEI and since jesuis beginner to android I'm afraid to do something stupid ...
So a little tutorial step by step, with a link to dwnld each time would be great!
I just ask for help ^ ^
Ps: sorry for my broken English.
Kisses! : D

Just make sure that you follow all of the steps. If anything goes wrong you can revive the phone by flashing an Ftf of the firmware.

There is software called Helium that does exactly what you are looking for:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup
I have not used it so make sure that it works for you before you begin the rooting process. Good luck

Thanks. Will try it out now and let you know.
Just need to backup important stuff so i can easily restore after rooting. I actually wanna unlock bl and install beanstalk . Twas the best rom i used on my xperia pro b4 it got stolen :crying:
Update:
I used Helium to backup my data and managed to restore everything back to rooted 4.3. It wouldn't restore my messaging and user dictionary data to beanstalk though (4.4) so went back to stock 4.3 with root. Thanks again for the help
Ps. I found this just now, it may help someone in future: www titaniumtrack com/kb/titanium-backup-kb/titanium-backup-howtos.html

Hello nice people of this forum, I've just got myself an Xperia V, running 9.0.1.D.0.10, and is looking for a method to root it without unlocking the bootloader.
I've tried googling it and searching the forums but came back empty. Perhaps some nice person can help me.

If you look in v android development there is an unsecure kernel, but this is for older firmware, maybe it works
Edit: you must unlock bootloader for custom kernel, i do not think bin4ry method works for newer firmwares

Thanks so much for your quick responses.
So right now, we have no root access without unlocking the bootloader.
Hopefully the genius developers will come up with something soon. A little bothered by the bloatware from my provider.
Thanks guys,

Hi funiewski,
I have tried rooting by flashing that kernel but I don't seems to get root when I check with the root checker app. Would you be able to advise on this? I would have posted in that thread but apparently I don't have enough post count.

There may be a way to root without unlocked bootloader
Try this well-known way of rooting Xperia AX in Japan.
I guess it's also possible for V to root.
1. Here is a Xperia VL's old rom and you can flash this kernel.sin and system.sin with V's loader.sin.
I can't post the link, but you can find it in uploaded.net. The ID is 3gvvv3w6.
2. Then, Root.
3. Create /data/local.prop (ro.kernel.qemu=1).
4. Flash V's system.sin without wiping.
5. Replace ric, install Busybox and Superuser.
6. Flash V's kernel.sin without wiping.
7. Do Factory data reset to easily delete unnecessary apps.

Hey guys,
I'm extremely sorry for opening this thread.! Please forgive me. I posted my question in another thread but didn't get a reply. I am from India and I want to buy Xperia T (which hasn't officially launched in India) from eBay. I was worried about the official jelly bean update for the phone. As tge phone hasn't launched in India the eBay people are providing imported phones. I found a tutorial to manually update the phone here: http://android.sc/update-the-sony-x...o-official-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-firmware/
This is a flash tool method to flash the official 4.1.2 update only for Xperia T LT30p. I just want to know whether this method is COMPLETELY RISK FREE and there is NOT EVEN A SLIGHTEST CHANCE TO BROCK THE DEVICE BOUGHT FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD???? I want to know this as the Sony service centre in India won't even look at the phone if there is any problem! Please asure me of this flash tool method by taking a look at it and also,
can you please refer to this thread:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136173 and tell me what can cause this type of problems? The person who started this thread who has posted 'something' about Xperia T and he is from India! And he bought his phone from Germany! I tried searching the net for 'Xperia T India' but I couldn't find a thing. So I just want to be sure about the flash tool method mentioned in the above link. Has anyone done that before?

Then how do you suggest I update the phone safely and securely to the official jelly bean update? Or could you please give me a link to a thread where the question has been answered or to a safe tutorial to update the phone? I tried searching but I wasn't able to find anything that answers my question! And does this depend upon the region from where the phone is? Will I be able to update the phone using this method? Can anyone please help me with a detailed answer?! PLEASE!!
There is no 100% foolproof method, even the sony official method can ruin your phone if YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.
However, IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS it will work.
Just try it.

Thank you very much... I was just looking for some confirmation. But now I got to know that this flash tool method is as safe pc companion method(correct me if I am wrong) I am pretty good at following instructions and also I have a rooted, bootloader unlocked, swaped xperia x8 running CM10. I am just so worried because I'm 17 and hence I don' t earn a single penny myself and this xperia T should last me atleast for the next 3 years. Would you please give me confirmation once again just for my satisfaction and also some general advice you think is necessary before following the above method? Like region verification, build no., kernel & firmware version, etc
...Pleaseee?!!:fingers-crossed:

Yes, rest assured, it's totally risk-free, using flashtool and flashing STOCK roms and kernels is risk-free, provided that you carefully follow the instructions...
for the firmwares and kernels, regions and the rest, don't worry about these things, as you know, you can flash ANY GLOBAL firmware, whether it is for France or M.E. or Malaysia, so don't worry, just search and see what build number is the last firmware for your T, then flash it, and thanks to DoomLord, you can root it even you have locked bootloader, using his rootkit, so don't unlock the bootloader for now
wish you best of bests, bro

Yup.. I did give it a thought! But its out of my budget... or otherwise I would have bought a nexus 4 16GB! Though xperia T is nowhere near the nexus 4 in terms of looks and hardware but it looks much better than SP. Also the SP has just 5.8GB of usable internal storage.... I felt really sad that I can't buy nexus 4 as it costs 100USD more than Xperia T and SP costs 70USD more... But then I thought I'm just 17! Not everyone of my age is lucky enough to own such a phone.. Many of my aquiantances can't even operate a Galaxy Ace!

Rooting won't brick your phone. And you can have root on stock
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
You can root and stay on stock ROM no need to change to another ROM. Also rooting .257 firmware is not yet supported. Morever I read somewhere that Kingo and Vroot are under investigation for installing tracking malware.

What was that i heard about doing something to your phone messes up the camera? Will rooting it do that to the camera?
No rooting does not affect the Camera. Only unlocking Bootloader will mess up the camera.
Just tried vroot for my Z1 (6903...xx257 firmware) and it doesnt work
Hope to see some progress about it soon as I need root to restore my titanium backups from another phone

Please read some of the guides.
It is impossible to directly root that FW,
Downgrade to .534, root and then upgrade OTA
I think dont downgrade your phone to 538.My some friends have problem about camera and walkman bla bla.Wait the root programme for 257

There are no problems because you immediately upgrade to .257 OTA and the problems go.
You downgrade to the older version and are on it for as long as it takes to root (2-3 minutes) during that time the camera does work (But you can fix it if you want by clearing the data in the camera common app) but as soon as you upgrade it works again...
Do this my friend i did it and it work for me ...

Learn before doing atleast, so we don't get fifty new threads about generic issues.
This is a development forum, and it would be nice if it's not overly cluttered with useless threads all the time.
Also the mods gets a break aswell
I do not mean to be rude, but people who ask questions, which the answer to, lies a couple clicks away, generally don't want to bother themselves with reading.
This is a shame, because the great developers on here are excellent at writing extensively about how to do things, and what you should and should not do.

Here is a video that you might find useful:
That should cover a lot of the questions that you may have.
Hello xda !
I am a proud owner of a z3 compact, D5803, and was looking to unlock the endless possibilities of rooting my device.
I've stumbled on a few "how to", but they seem to only refer to android 4 or 5
example : ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343 )
Or some quotes here and there, but as I am greatly inexperienced, I did not understand much
here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343/post66862792#post66862792
and there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/recovery-root-mm-575-lb-t3418714
Hence, I was wondering if by any chance there was a more simple/straightforward "how to" for my Marshmallow...
Any help/advice/clue would be so appreciated !
I wish you an awesome day !
See you and thanks in advance

Okay thanks !
The first link looks suspicious and not very well explained... I'm gonna pass on that !
But the second is actually quite pertinent, even if it doesn't give all the details for each step (I might figure them out myself.. might ! we'll see )
Thanks again !
Found something else ?
EDIT :
I've just found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/recovery-root-mm-575-lb-t3418714
may be what i am looking for.
Just do everything step by step from first link http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
If you have any problem with flashtool or drivers on Windows10 try Windows7
Maby not quickest method but safest for sure, as always remember to backup DRM's(TA partition) and keep it safe.
And this should be in Q&A

Sure thing !
It is not mentioned in the topic, but will this wipe any of my stuff during the process ? (not that it's a problem, just if I need to know in order to backup) ?

No. But it is always preferred to do a backup just in case.
