Custom rom with custom voice control - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know a good custom rom where I can use my own phrase to turn the display on? the current one is set to "Hi Galaxy" with no other way to change that phrase. Also, is there a function where I can replace S voice with Google voice control in a custom ROM? Currently I am using S for Switch Voice and its good, but doesn't work all the time.
also, this is a more general question. If I have a Canadian locked phone (Rogers), do I still use the ROMS for at&t or can I go with the Samsung note 3 rom page? i was using att for my S3 and i9000

[Q] Wifi Calling, How To Get???

hello, im using CM 6.1 RC1, is there a way to get the wifi calling feature on my HERO???
Is it an APK to download or is there another rom to have this feature even an older one?
Or is there any way to hack it to work on HTC HERO like this Nexus One Hack???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807116
AFAIK, wifi calling requires certain hardware which enables it, wifi calling is also knows as UMA which is hardware specific, and the hero does not have such hardware
as an option - you could use google voice and another provider to make voip calls over wifi.

I've installed the apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8593386#post8593386 on Villain 1.6.2 and get 'Invalid SIM' as expected as I'm not on T-Mobile US, can't change settings through the menus so stuck there.
There is also this http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/529673
But I haven't seen the app extracted anywhere yet. I use uma on my work BB all the time as the signal at home is crap, if this could be fixed for general andriod use it would be so useful.

[Q] i9000 sounds profiles

Is there any chance of getting sound profiles on the galaxy s?
I mean like a lot of other phones have, eg, a profile for work, general, outdoor, silent, etc.
I noticed that cyanogenmod 7 had this feature, but I just wanted to know is there any other way to get this feature?
Or is there any way to get it running from cyanogenmod on another rom (stock or custom) ?
Thanks

[Q] Vivid with ICS and the Voice Dialer.

I am going to upgrade to Vivid from my Inspire 4G. But I just read that with ICS Voice Dialer no longer works and that is one thing on my Inspire 4g that I use the most. What I like to do is get the Vivid (only $49 from Att and it already comes with ICS) and root it to install the last version of GB that the Voice Dialer worked. I have been reading the crippled Voice Dialer thread and it seems that everybody is looking for a workaround to the problem but willing to live with the flaw just to have ICS. I don't really know the major difference between the GB and ICS but to me, it really isn't worth changing if I am going to lose the Voice Dialer. Has anyone else tried what I want to do? I have been reading the Vivid forum I can tell there is lot of difference how things are done to root this phone than my Inspire 4G. I would appreciate any input regarding this matter.
I happened to stumble upon a pretty good interim solution. It's called Voice Control. The free version is called Voice Control Test.
I have tried them all and this is the only one that comes close to working correctly without screwing up other Bluetooth devices.

I decided to go back to GB for this very same reason. ICS is nice and all, and, as a whole there are many changes and optimization's. But if you use sense, 3.5 is not that different from 3.6. Not only voice dialer does not work over bluetooth, there are also many apps that don't work or do not work correctly on 4.03.
After I went S-off on my phone I just decided to install an older version of android. I was afraid that the new Hboot would screw things up but I still tried it and everything seems to be working. I did have a little of an issue with the kernel so I flashed it twice, before and after installing the gingerbread rom.
Third Party Voice Dialer Apps
There is a extensive thread on this issue in the General section. This link takes you to page 4 where I discuss Cyberon Voice Commander. I had also tested Vlingo.

At least one person tried to use a custom ROM with the voice dialer added back in. While there are differing opinions on what works best, I found Voice Commander with ICS to have the same functionality as the built-in voice dialer in Android 2.3.4. Look at the whole thread to see what others have to say.
See also this thread for another recommended app.

Cyberon Voice Commander made my BT functionality flakey.
However, I found Voice Control which works must better. I think the free version is called Voice Control Test.
Set the accuracy low and fast which is the 2 setting. Even at this low accuracy, it is really good.

One point we should make is that Bluetooth sets in vehicles and BT headsets can vary in their capabilities and ability to work with the Vivid (and other phones). While CVC works well for me, WillGill had more success with another product.
It may take some experimenting as WillGill and I did (and Vivid 2X also), but I believe you can find a product that will restore voice dialer capabilities without having to root your phone and install a custom ROM. Of course, Google should never have removed it, but that's another issue.
Just wanted to share my solution:

Can't find notifications?

Ok probably another note question but I can't seem to find how to get notifications working on my new watch.
I've updated all the software to the newest versions as well as the gear manager but I don't see any options for notifications and I'm certainly not getting any on my watch.
I am however using a custom rom would that have something to do with it?
If I'm using a custom rom based on touchwiz do I need any specific things to make my watch 100 percent compatible with my note3?
Right now other then the Bluetooth and camera I can't see much use for the watch!
Do I need to go back to stock on the Note for best compatibility?

In Gear Manager, click on Notifications, scroll down and find "More Notifications" (or maybe More Messages)
In there you can tick the apps you want to send notifications from, Facebook, Gmail etc.

Lost ability to OK Google. S3 rooted and stock Rom 4.4.4.

Hi I have lost the ability to open the Google app by saying OK Google. The option to retrain the voice recognition is also missing plus other options from the settings menu. I had screen shots but not sure how to include in this post. As titled it is a rooted s3 and has android 4.4.4 currently. Any suggestions for a fix peeps? :silly:
