[Q] Help for My XT - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

xperia T I previously often turns itself off, I guess only the OS problem, after I updated to 4.3. the problem still persists even then. and I suspect that after a dead battery lose its charge. then I use battery calibration, and the results are quite durable. but suddenly this morning was dead and did not want to flame. only the flashing red indicator light.
is there any damage to hardware other than the battery?
please input.
thank you

Battery Issue?

I'm having major battery issues with my X1.
it's always auto shut down all of the sudden although my battery was 70%
Then when I turn my phone back on.. it became low battery (less than or just 10%)
Is this related to my battery? or the phone itself?
Heard a friend having the same problema with a HTC after installing a new ROM.
Maybe it's soft related.
that problem WILL persist even if I changed so many roms? I just don't understand why.. Need to fix this ASAP.. it annoys me by running out of battery everytime =.="
I suggest you flash back your stock rom to exclude a software issue. If the problem persists I would say you have got a defective battery.
I suggest it's the battery. Had similar problem with aftermarket battery off eBay. Used it for 2 weeks, then it suddenly shut off and no sign of life whatsoever from my X, got the charger plugged in - nothing, no side lights, no startup. Flicked another battery in to make sure my X is functioning. Then got the battery that caused problem back in to see what's happening. Well, it was at 35%, started charging again and behaved like nothing happened.

[Q] Battery faulty?

Hi,
My battery life/indicator has been behaving very strangely since yesterday, so I'm wondering if the battery is dying. I know about battery calibration, and attempting it hasn't solved anything. I haven't flashed any firmware recently.
When I plug in the charger while on, it almost immediately tells me it's 100% charged, but the number displayed will still be something low, like 50ish. When I unplug it, the number stays. It drops extremely quickly, to around 1-2%, then 0% and turns itself off. After turning it on again, it may rise to 10%, but drop again to 0% shortly thereafter. After a couple of times of turning it back on, it will refuse to turn on. Charging only seems to work when phone is off, but even then the charge won't last much more than a couple of hours of idling - no calls, no web, nothing.
I've tried charging to full while phone is off (drained), and removing battery stats via cwm before booting up. Doesn't help.
Is my battery faulty? It's a very sudden problem, and my battery has been lasting me for days before this happened
So, I got a new battery. The problem persists. I've tried a factory reset/wiping battery stats, but it's still that way. Could this be a hardware problem somehow?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
Which fimware are you on? In your case I'd go back to a stock firmware from samfirmware.com and test once again. If the problem persits, you likely have a hardware issue and I'd have it swapped for a new phone whilst within warranty.

I'm using tweaky rom, JVS. I'm not too sure what the local firmware is (Singapore), the one I had before I switched to custom was 2.1, and I don't feel too safe flashing bootloaders when the phone is prone to turning off...

yeah, you are absolutely right. Have you tried betterbatterystats? ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 ) It will show you wakelocks when your phone should be idling.
Did it help ?
Mate, out of curiosity I was wondering if your issue got resolved.
Also, you should check what is draining off your battery.
I tried reading elsewhere and found "Battery Monitor Widget" could be useful for you to identify this.
Nope, still same problem. It's not a wakelock issue, because the battery dies /so/ fast. I can literally charge it to 100%, unplug the charger, and in 30 seconds it says 0% and turns itself off. The phone itself isn't running hot or anything, and seems to be just idling. [Edit: To clarify, it also charges to 100% in about 10 minutes or so. I'm guessing that for some reason the phone thinks the battery is 'full' and stops charging, leading to the quick drop. I've no idea what could cause this though]
I'm hoping that maybe it's a software issue now since the new battery isn't working either (the battery is probably a fake since i got it for cheap, but even then it should last at least a few hours before draining), and that the phone is confused with battery voltage levels or something when I put the new one in.
Anyway, I flashed JVU stock, didn't even root, and will be charging the new battery overnight while phone is off. It says 100%, but gonna leave it on charger anyway. Hopefully if I wake up tomorrow it'll be working :/
If that doesn't work, will be flashing DXJV9 (My original firmware was dxj4), and hope that it's the official one here. Then bring it to a service center and act dumb and hope they can fix it i guess...
Service center replaced motherboard. There goes a hundred bucks :/

Baterry issue

Hello,
I've been passing for a strange issue with my GNote's battery. After I updated to ICS , I don't know if it is the reason of the problem, my battery doesn't complete the charge.
I tryed to charge to 100% with the phone turned off but immediately after it turned on the battery's indicator down to 50%. With the phone turned on, the battery seems that's not charging. Either with the phone turned on or off the process of charging is taking tooo long to complete.
Any help would be great.
Thanks!
This may not be ROM or kernel problem. may the battery become defective or hardware problem.

I will try to replace the battery with a new one and see what happens.

[Q] Xpearia Z will not boot

Hi Folks,
I read the threads I could find on the issue but none of them helped. Here is my situation:
The phone was working all day without issues. I did not install any other applications. Left the phone on (and did not connect to power supply) all night. Next morning, the phone did not start. I thought the batter drained.
Connected it to a power supply all day but cannot get it started.
Tried the volume up + power on button several times without any signs (e.g vibration).
A red LED shows when the phone is connected to the PC or a power supply.
Tried flashtool but the phone does not get recognized. Any help would be great!
Don't worry this is normal, leave it to charge for a while and it should boot up fine. Happened to me more times than I can remember, scared the crap out of me haha
Connect the charger and keep charging until the red led change to yellow. The is normal behavior if you drain the battery to death.

Thanks for your replies. The phone is on charge for more than 12 hrs. How long will it take for the red LED change to yellow?
All Sony Xperia Z experts,
No changes on the situation.
Overall, I am quite surprised how little reaction this issue has caused with you guys. This is an unlocked BL, rooted phone with a deodexed 10.3.1.A.2.67 firmware. So, rather standard. I use the stamina mode, causing almost no battery drain while idle. The phone never dropped battery below 30%. I am not using any apps to mod CPU or other fancy settings. This significant issue could happen to many Sony users.
I will contact Sony to see what they can do (not much I guess). In the meantime, if anyone else experienced this problem, please contact me.
Sony replaced my Xperia
Good news. Sony replaced the phone and included the charging station as well! Good service and a happy customer.

To me it seems like it is a sudden death problem.... You should send it to sony for repair.
Does the LED blinks bright red? If so, it could be either battery problem or hard brick...
For battery problem, charging the phone while turned off for a few hours should fix it. But then you said you had charged it for almost a day. Most likely a hard brick..... Sony would just charge you hundreds of $$ for swapping the motherboard...

Is it possible that the phone has been hard brick even it wasnt rooted at all? Yeah i try to bring it to sony center they say that it is a software problem. if its a software problem maybe they will just flash the stock rom on it. I am trying to fix it but no luck....

It may be possible, because Xperia V's battery problem is really widespread. The voltage control inside the battery can be easily fried after prolonged overheating (yes I learnt it the hard way) and XV is very prone to overheating.
My XV's battery died after a night of continuos overheating caused by normal charging... then the phone would suddenly turn off without any warning. The problem gets worse each day and only disappears when I bought a new battery.
I would suggest trying a new battery pack and see if it fixes... because if you do bring it to Sony, they would charge you insane amount of $$ if it's no longer covered by warranty

Don't worry mate, as long as you have warranty they won't charge you. If it will cost you anything they will give you a cost estimate
