[ROM] Blandroid (14/10/2011) Version 2.3.5p2 - Fast and Stable

BLANDROID
This ROM is not my work, I found it recently while looking through some forums tried it out and its great, its VERY stable and has plenty of features and is updated regularly! I've decided to post it here to try and make more people aware of this great ROM!
(EXCLAIMER : I am not liable for anything that happens to your phone because of this ROM or due to this ROM etc etc, i am not the developer, just the messenger)

Ive seen this many times in rom manager but never flashed it as it wasn't on xda so wasn't sure about it. As far as I can see it's a reliable rom so I wonder why I've never seen it here before????
I installed one rom I found here that was based on it though.
Might give it a shot. OP has given info about it. Anybody else can supply any feedback?

I used the 2.3.3 version and it was very stable and just worked fine as advertised; I'm sure this one is the same. He just focuses on making a very stable, close to stock rom with some improvements here and there. Should be a very smooth rom.

Yep, very stable/smooth ROM. The latest 2.3.4 version was not as smooth for me though, so I went back to the 2.3.3 version.

Have you wiped cache and dalvik? Cos im running the rom and its crazy smooth!

Wiping cache has nothing to do with lags..

Great Rom. Added flying Windows animation and a nice BatteryPercentage with the online kitchen. Now it's nearly perfect

Can anyone confirm if this ROM has a working Front Facing Camera? I need to get my FFC working with atleast GTalk, skype and yahoo don't support FFC yet, qik and tango don't support mobile to pc chat.
Please let me know. Help much appreciated.

I've recently reverted back to stock but still have reboots - anyone using this rom experience that still?

Blandroid version 2.3.4p2 is the current update. All installation procedures and requirements can be found at blandroid.org
I'm using this ROM on a NExus ONE - my Nexus has never worked any better!

yes.. FFC works. As you know, blandroid has no Google apps pre-installed. There is a gapps package you use (same as with cyanogen). But that gapps package hasn't got the latest Talk.apk
You need to get the new version of Talk.apk yourself. I created a thread and posted a link here.

Imported CMScreenshot app from CyanogenMod and added a screenshot function to the global power menu. Now screenshots can be taken natively from anywhere by holding down the power menu and selecting "Take Screenshot". Screenshots show up as PNG files in the DCIM/Screenshots directory on the SD card.
Added a setting to disable showing failed lock patterns. Most useful when the "Use visible pattern" option is disabled.

Been using this myself for the past day, very fast, stable and smooth rom, I will be using this as my daily driver from now. Haven't cross any bugs yet.

I can't seem to get this to install from recovery. I always get installation aborted.
Any reason why? I seem to be stuck with Oxygen...

[Q] Motorola Triunph MIUI rom on X6?

Hey hey hey big doubt. Motorola Triumph has a got a pretty decent miui rom that's fully working with all features. I was wondering if it's possible to flash the rom on ideos x6 and their variants ? as Motorola triumph is a twin of x6? kindly reply!!

well there is one big diff between moto n the other x6 , that is its a cdma phone

I know have miui build 1-11-25, but still now fm radio. Have tried all that I have found on the net to fix but with no luck. Has anyone else had luck getting fm to our phone?
The port is stable but I dont see any difference from the one that tj_style made

When are you uploading the ROM ? Radio does not work in the MIUI 1.11.11 build also. And not a major issue as long as the ROM is stable.
have you tested all other applications esp google apps ? What about voice quality and volume ?

please do upload the rom...

Will upload it once I get home tonight at work and have no access to a site to put it up.
Voice quality and volume so far I have found no issues. The only google apps that I use are maps, market and voice so I didnt load gapps just grab these only. The build has market already. I also have loaded Napster's kernel which works fine with my phone.

Hey I am currently on 1.11.11. Can I upgrade and if I don't wipe anything will it preserve my apps data SMS and so on. What about the incoming call volume issue is it fixed and what about HD recording in camera with uckernal.

Flashed this seems to be working quite good but I still have the incoming call volume issue. HD recording is good. I did wipe cache and dalvik but still the call volume issue persists. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Cowsgo for porting this, very happy with this particular ROM, more stable than 1.11.11. Incoming call Volume issue was there fo rthe first few calls but now it has normalised. I also flashed Napstar UC V5, everything is working smoothly. I was also able to record a video at 720P. Good work keep it up.
BTW do let me know how did you port this from ? Keen to start myself on this route !

I've flashed this rom, its better than 1.11.11 i think, no screen blinking during incoming call, but still happen for outgoing, volume... i think i did not press the volume button during my last call still with tj style kernel, not yet test oc5 for miui, worry abt video recording, i've test oc5 with edowar cm7.2, working good

Hi vijayar, i have also flashed this rom but even after quite a few incoming calls i am still facing the incoming low call volume issue. how come it is resolved in your device, what did you do ? Are you reporting that the HD rec. is working fine with UC V5 ? What was your exact flash method ?

Well the incoming call volume is working most of the time well, some random calls still has problems of low volume but most are normal unlike CM7 which always has low volume (not tried latest updated, but for this problem the ROM is a fantastic build by Edowar). Yes I did a 720p Video record for about a minute, it seems okay. What I did was complete wipe of Dalvik, cache and factory and then updated to this new one. I also flashed UC V5.

Vijayar, r u porting frm cm7? If frm miui 1.11.11, do i need full wipe? Including data wipe?

Viber problem

i am using viber, after they release the 3.0 viber it is always chrashing when i call somebody, the new update released but still have call crashing, wiped the app data and reinstalled but it didnt help
i am using tonyp cm10.1 with kowalski kernel 121
Please help , Does it work somebody or change rom?

I am also having the same problem. Messaging works fine but calls are crashing Viber. I am using temasek V63 ROM.

I tried all JB roms, on all JB roms Viber 3.01 dont whant call. Only on ICS new Viber work call corectly

Running Viber on a custom ROM results in various side effects (sometimes total lack of functionality), but we can't afford to support all custom ROMs out there. We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more ROMS, but meanwhile - you might want to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue. In addition, it would be a good idea to test Viber on Stock ROM on that same phone, in order to see if that indeed is the source of the problem.

Sometimes some Custom ROMs collide with *some* feature of Viber, and when this happens unfortunately there is not much we can do to help, since we cannot afford to adapt Viber to all Custom ROMs out there, and all of their versions. Hence, it could be that one version of Viber will work on a specific Custom ROM, but then a newer version of Viber will not work anymore. This requires development, testing, etc, and we simply don't have these resources. We usually recommend those users to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue.

unfortunately I'm suffering from the same issue, I am not able to make/receive calls since I updated mine 3days ago.
Is there a way to "downdate" (you get the idea) my Viber so it can work properly again? Im using Viber to get in touch with my relatives overseas.

Use www.androiddrawer.com, and be sure to disable auto updating in the Play Store.

I tried all version reverse, , and find that version 2.3.5.329 works without any problems. All version after it, have some problem on my phone. I use.temasek V70 ROM, and Kowalski kernel 2.6.39.4.

Latest Viber is also not working for Avatar Rom 3.0 with Newbootloader, will Viber : Free Calls & Messages 2.3.5.329 work for this ROM ?

Viber was the IM I reverted to after Whatsapp became part of the Mugbook.
May I recommend 4.2? Revelation ROM if you like black UI, or Pure-X-Blaster if you like the white Honami design. Both ROMs are very stabil, Revelation is bug free, Pure-X is a hybrid ported from Z1, in daily usage you will hardly feel a difference to 4.3.

Locked BL. You just need to be rooted and install CWM.

A note: When adjusting the Quicktools, SystemUI will crash. Once you adjusted it to your liking however that does not happen. I did not have any other issue.

I had Viber crashing on me after dirty upgrading to stock 4.3.
I solved it by completely removing and then reinstalling Viber.

I tried it with reinstalaciom Viber, but it did not help, (Viber works ok when I receive a call , but when I call the problem then becomes), after a couple of seconds to a minute, I can not hear anything but I heard the other side, when I get out of Viber calls after that I was instructed, hangs all tones (actually tones are very quiet as they are blocked at a minimum)

Unlock bootloader and flash doomlord kernel v9 for fix it or flash omnirom ( better than stock rom)

I believe that this would solve the problem, but ... my botloader can not be unlocked, unfortunately

Viber does not work even on a clean install [ROM] [T] [4.3] Ultimate PureXT v4.0 {14/04} |, the same error code after the call (sometimes right now there is no sound, sometimes for 30-40 sec)

Nothing, classics, type (re-install it and you have the latest version, and so on), I have it all, but the problem remains I think the problem with the codec and using the loudspeaker (switch from front to rear or inner speaker ....... system - lib-hw - audio.primary.msm8960.so : Mad:

Go back to viber 3.1.1 and everything is workingb fine...

above post is 100%correct.. downgrade your viber not Xperia v rom to get it back working

Can you tell me , what is the best and most stable rom to date ? Right now trying slimkat 4.4.4 but this rom is just lagfest...

To me as now, the one in my signature, i've used it for a long time with many apps installed (just do not install twitter and facebook, use the mobile version instead with a super light browser).
You have to install greenify to hibernate apps, thanks to @NoDze to the suggestion!

Hahahah, thanks mate for the mention.
By the way, I hate using the mobile versions of apps so I use alternatives. Klyph/FriendCaster for Facebook and Plume/Falcon Pro for Twitter and my phone is blazing.

I'm using now the TonyP CM11 and is super stable and smooth. Give it a try. Camera is working good. I just miss the radio from LG.

I'm using Paranoid Android 4.45 (Kitkat 4.4.4) with Kowalski Kernel 3.1 and it run almost without lag. It just has gps bug but it's no problem from me.
