Hi Guys, just flashed my O2X with CM7 and it worked fine but for some reason its not detecting the internal storage. What happened is that I followed the instructions, saved the zip on my external sd card and then flashed it. Did I do something wrong?
Heyy could you say what CM7 version you are using? Plus it sounds like you did everything fine.

Nope, you did it right.
Sounds like you haven't used CM7 before, it's easy to think the internal SD is gone, but it isn't. CM7 by default mounts the external SD-card as /sdcard, where your internal card used to be mounted.
The internal card is at /mnt/emmc.
There is an option in the settings somewhere where you can switch them around (don't have CM7 installed at the moment, but just search in the CM7 Nightlies thread and you'll find lots of info about it.)

I think you are wrong, i am on CM7.1 and by default my internal sd card was in mnt/sdcard and external is mnt/emmc. Now I use FadeFX 1.6 update, which changes this to internal sdcard - mnt/sdcard and external sdcard to mnt/sdcardexternal_sd as it is on samsung ROMs..... (for this you need to check this feature in settings you mentioned) ....

Ok, they may have switched the defaults around since the last time I tried it. Doesn't take away from the main point of the post though. Mount points are different in CM7 from what people are used to, and confusing if you don't know about it.
But only external sd is different... internal it is the same, isn't it ???

No, I was right. (Just installed the latest nightly)
External card mounted as /mnt/sdcard, also reachable from a symbolic link /sdcard.
Internal card mounted as /mnt/emmc.
default install.
Because This feature was introduced from nightly #148 or something .... And he installed CM7.1 wich is nightly #144 I am on this too, so I know how it was after installation.

Nonsense. It's been like that since nightly #1. There were however KANGs floating around which switched mountpoints, you may have used one of those.
Thanks for the info guys...yes this is my first custom ROM and my first CM so sorry for being noob LOL
For some reason its now working. What I did was rebooted my phone, removed the external SD, and it somehow assigned sdcard for internal storage. Rebooted the phone and put back the external SD, and its now emmc...weird but it works now. I just have to move my apps all over the place

No i was on stock... I was reading nightly thread.... This is the way that I understand :
Before nightly #149 thing was fine, but after this nightly users must check option "use internal storage" and then everything works fine...
If i got it wrong, i apologize.

I have tried like 3 times and every time nothing happens. I put the gapps and a file named "cm-10-20130511-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-sdcard" onto and sd card. Reboot it into recovery, delete system files, install those two etc, and it always is still cyanogen 10.2 every single time. I want cyanogenmod 10 so that I will be able to play with wii remotes and bluetooth and stuff and yeah. That was one of the main reasons I wanted my nook. If there are any other ways to do that, that would be great as well. And then two more things, when I reinstall and delete system files, all the stuff ont he internal memory are still there and I don't know if it is supposed to be like that? And then another problem with my nook is that sometimes when I try to unlock it the screen just blinks and won't open no matter what and I just have to reboot. And lastly, when I am charging the nook it always jsut keeps blinking no matter what I try. If you could respond asap that would be great, I kinda need it for school and don't feel like installing everything if it won't be permanent. Thanks a lot!
TLDR; I have a lot of issues with my nook!
Yes, you have a lot of questions in that post. First, explain a little better what you are running. That CM10 zip is for an SD install and I am betting you are running CM10.2 on internal memory.
And wiping with CWM usually does not delete media files from internal memory.
And the unlock screen problem is probably the magnet in you cover. Open the cover twice to get around it.
Don't know the problem about charging/blinking.

All I remember is that what I installed the cm 10.2 with is 2 zip files from an sd card, and did the same as I did when I tried 10. However, when I did 10.1 (What i weas running before all of this) I installed through a bootable sd card with zip files. And how do I get rid of stuff on internal? Do i need to? Thanks for all the other answers too. And is the file name I even sent you cm 10? Just want to make sure so I am not being stupid. Also the stuff on my sd card is still all the same I just used a different external sd card for the install. (Which I would rather do if possible)
You probably installed CM10.1 and CM10.2 to internal memory. That is why that one marked sdcard will not work. I don't think there are any CM10 zips that will work on internal memory. They are all for SD. (You can tell because the say 'sdcard' in the name.) Why is it you think you need CM10? If you want it you must install it on SD. There is a thread for it in the dev section. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35087686
If you want to wipe the media files off of internal with CWM, go to mounts and storage and choose 'format data and datamedia'. That will clear the media files. But you do not need to do that unless you are worried others will see it. It makes no difference to installing things.

Ok, is the emmc one the one that I can install on the internal memory? And i dont get it because it says to use the same install method for the one that I did and you say that that install message is wrong. And then, can I still have stuff on my sd card while it has the install on it or does it have to just be for the install. And then for gapps and cwm do I have to install those again? sorry for my stupidity
Yes both the SD install and the emmc install use a bootable CWM SD to install them. But the CWM SDs are different. The CWM menu is the same, but one is coded to install the ROM on internal memory (emmc) and one is coded to put the ROM on the same SD that the CWM is on.
For a long time only SD installs were available, then the developer figured out how to install to emmc. Now almost all ROM zips are for emmc.
You did not answer my question about why you think you need CM10. You said something earlier about wii. I don't think CM10 on the HD supported wii.
You are just too confused to be helped. I suggest you read a lot more.

Sorry I wrote this whole thing to you and then accidently deleted it, the only reason I actually need it is for wii remotes to work via bluetooth. The newer cyanogenmods and android builds broke it so it supposedly only works in cyanogenmod 10
And then in response to the last one, all i need to do is install the emmc? Do i need the newer gapps or cwm? And i just do it the same way as i did before?

Wow. Litterally almost nothing works in the cyanogenmod 10. haha. Thanks for your help anyway though man.
I currently have no rom installed due to me wiping the cache and data. I'm trying to put the cyanogenmod 11 zip on the sd card by mounting usb storage, however it doesn't allow to copy it over to the sd and just says "discovering items". Upon mounting the usb storage it recommends me to fix the device as there are some problems with files, I tried the scan and fix options but it did not help.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On some kernels you can use connection to PC when you are in recovery, on some not. I do not know on what kernel and recovery you are now. But it seems it is not working. So solution is to do nandroid restore if you made a nandroid backup in recovery. I suppose you did not, so now your option is to flash stock JB from Download Mode with Odin, and copy ROM while you are in system. Or use some other phone and put SD card in it and copy like that.

Actually it's something interesting, a senior. Like when Windows95 new entry in our country. At that time the system "DOS For Windows" is still very familiar in computer lessons in our education. (Developing Countries). So we can still do "Copy" and "Paste" via diskette in the system "DOS". I think CWM is almost similar to the DOS system. I mean, CWM will be very useful if a time on the android main system can not be done. Of course may be done through CWM. cmiiw.
I keep getting this error trying to install apps from the play store. My phone is rooted, the SD card is properly partitioned, and I can successfully link apps to it via Link2SD. The problem is that my phone seems to be very picky about what I can and cannot install. Some programs will install with no fuss, while others will give me the "Error: Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card" error. It's extremely irritating.
Please do not suggest unmounting/remounting the SD card. I've tried this. It DOES NOT WORK.

Do you happen to have the stock kernel on your phone? Because if you do it's write protection enabled and you can't use that from my experience. You need to install a kernel with write protection removed.
I installed a custom Kernel, write protection's gone. Think wiping the whole thing would help? Or installing a Custom ROM?

A custom rom could definitely help! Just make sure you make a backup of your current system and then try another rom but I can't exactly say any rom that's better than another one because I'm using a personal built rom but all the roms are pretty good and each has their own problems so be sure to read about the rom you choose closely!
Hi folks, maybe someone encounters the same problem. I installed CM13 02/12 along with opengapps, which worked fine.
I then decided to use my SD Card as internal, which also worked like a charm.
But when I tried to update, TWRP can't see the contents of the SD-Card.
So I flashed Philz, and flashed the new build via sideload (should be possible with TWRP as well). That resulted in a phone, which wont boot up and is stuck in the bootlogo.
I then flashed Rom and Gapps via sideload, the phone boots up, but Setup Wizard App (I think its called that in English) keeps on crashing, rendering the phone unusable.
(I then erased internal storage, messing up everything, and returned to CM12)
So here are the questions:
1. Did anyone succesfully update his phone, while having activated the storage merging option?
2. Does anyone know, how to stop Setup Wizard from closing? (I think, I read somewhere it is because of missing rights and that you can fiddle with some "packages.xml" to fix that)
Thanks guys!
-UPDATE:
Here are three solutions for updating:
a) The downloaded .zip file has to be moved to /data (if wanted, into some subfolder of your choice. ES-File Explorer needs root for that) Then flash via TWRP.
b) Use flashify, choose copy to safe location (had some FC's afterwards)
c) Use cm-recovery, update via cm-updater (not yet confirmed)

1. I don't think so. For this we should need an updated recovery supporting this feature. Furthermore, the feature is not fully ready, imho
2. I don't know. Never had this problem.

For your other question I don't know.
Using SD card as internal storage in Marshmallow repartitions it with ext4 filesystem and encrypts it. A recovery needs to handle both support for ext4 and decrypting the files on it - which should be impossible without the correct key.
Currently you should use SD as portable/external to keep unencrypted fat file system.

The first part is true.
But I don't agree for the second part. This new option is great as long as you know how to use it and how not to loose all your data when changing ROM.
Flashify CAN flash when during the process you choose "use provided path".
Why ? Because it stores the ROM on the data partition and with a custom script it allows the recovery to mount the data partition and the flash the ROM.

I believe you when you say Flashify can flash the rom. But as said, it's all way to complicated for the 'average' user. Especially because of the encryption, which causes the sd card to be unseen by, for example, your recovery or your pc. These things have to be solved first!

Hey Mavireck, thank you for that info, I will try Flashify soon! Did you flash the ROM only or ROM + GAPPS?
And I understand that there are different opinions, but for me, merging internal storage is kind of a "key" feature for substituting Link2SD. I'm hoping to see some kind of recovery, which can decrypt the SD card in the near future (or the possibilty to choose not to use encryption)!

The twrp team is awesome. They will find a fix.
I only tried flashing the ROM but i think you can flash at the same time gapps.
Alright, Flashify works, if you pick the option "copy to safe directory" or similar. "use provided path" doesnt work for me.
But after the update, Nova Launcher keeps crashing and titanium backup doesnt show up on the app drawer anymore, but is still installed and cant be uninstalled to reinstall. pretty weird. So for me, this option doesnt really work either.
I copy the update zip file to \Data\Media\0\twrp and i can update
Anyone knows if the SuperSU 2.60 works in the CM13 Moto G2014???
@Poeta, I copy the zip to /data/fota which I think is a slightly more appropriate choice (fota= firmware over the air, which is exactly what this process is)... But regardless of the location, the point is to use /data partition (which is accessible from both within marshmallow os and recovery) instead of internal storage or sd card.

Hey everyone. I have a question for whomever formatted the SD as internal.
First of all, yes, it's a little buggy, but I find it extremely useful, hats off to Google!
Then, I've been having this weird problem where if I try to reboot the phone with the SD card inserted it would go into a bootloop. I usually reboot into bootloader, remove the SD card, reboot again and put in the SD card after android has fully launched.
Anyone having the same problem?
I'm using the 14/11 version of the rom (goodness. I'm outdated!) and my SD card is pretty much brand new. A 32gb sandisk class 10 U3.
Thanks in advance!

Let CMUpdater "Reboot and Install" ROM directly
and have CM recovery installed
... then it works flawlessly. I have yet to try it (since no new nightlies have come out since I learned of this approach.)
So guys, I updated to todays build by moving it to the /data partition and then using twrp. Works like a charm! Thanks everyone for your help!
