I'm on 14.2.A.0.290
But ...
Just got an OTA popped up , an 8.2MB download
Still saying it's 14.2.A.0.290
I haven't installed it yet.
Are the OTAs incremental? I didn't think they did upgrades to a release without changing the build.
Or, is my OTA notification wrong? This is UK unbranded handset
I installed it and now my keyboard seems to be screwed up, it keeps disappearing right in the middle of me typing

I was rather hoping it fixed the stupid speaker calling bug.
Could it be the update that brings 4G for the three network?

This Ota is really old. Just some Sony apps got updated(bloat apps). Don't bother. You will be better off flashing . 136 ftf

So I just bought few months used Sony XZ. Really a nice phone. But I noticed that it's from Spain Orange network and still with Android 4.1 . Because I'm quite new, would you kindly explain me the steps I should do to get newest firmware and to loose branding because the Orange services are really annoying. Thanks a lot in advance

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting so sorry if it is in the wrong place
I have got an xperia z and I decided to change over to cyanogen mod. I the got rid of that and flashed across a stock rom which works fine however it is telling me that I have an update ready but the update center won't do the update because it tells me I have a custom rom so does anyone know how to return it to how it was when it came out of the box?
Many thanks in advance

Relock your bootloader if you want to receive updates officially. Flashtool can do it in BLU mode.

Hello all,
I got my Z1 through Amazon, my customization number is 1276-0875 (Customized UK). It took sometime to get the 4.3 update, like 3 weeks later the official release. Till now I didn't get any update notification on my phone or PCC for Kitkat. Is that normal? :|
It's not out yet

I got it on mine. Unlocked Z1. But as other people have said. Just use flashtool. Doesn't alter anything its as safe as houses.

Individual carriers will be working on the update, testing/fixing etc. Probably better that you wait seems as there was so many bugs in the last one.

I've read back and forth on different forums about this and it's still not clear to me so please enlighten me.
Is it necessary to totally wipe the phone, formatting and stuff like that when flashing a new rom with flashtool.
I've read that in some cases ppl had problems with old stuff still beeing there.
And next question how do I do it with flashtool?

No

All you need to do is to flash an ftf. You don't need to do anything more than this.
Here's a guide how to do that

The OTA will fail, because your bootloader is unlocked.

Better flash ftf with flashtool or use SUS and always backup you data before try them :good:
