[BUG] No Quicklaunch on Lockscreen - General Omni Discussion

If that weren't working before, maybe 2 month ago, I would think that it is by design, but it was. So:
The Quicklaunch shortcuts (from navigation bar, when you hold the bottom center of the screen and you get half-circle with programmed shortcuts) does not work on a Lockscreen. They work only when unlocked.
Also, there's no " ^ " sign which was on Lockscreen on the bottom center and camera icon on bottom right.
Build from 05/03.

That is different than my 20140304 build on Nexus 5. What device? What build source and date? What was the last build that works for you?

Xperia ZL (odin), nightly build from 20140305. The last build where Quicklaunch worked - maybe 1 week ago or smth. As far as I know Active Display broke something and made navigation buttons visible on Lockscreen, that happened about 2 months ago, however Quicklaunch worked (when long pressing or sliding up from Home button). Since the build from 3 days ago navigation buttons were removed from Lockscreen (they don't have to be there for sure), but Quicklaunch also gone. Quicklaunch works when unlocked from Home button, but I suppose it also should be from " ^ " sign on Lockscreen.

Widgetoids 2.x notification tray problem?

Running 2.3.3 here and just installed widgetoids to get the toggles in the notification dropdown area.
All works great through the widget on the home screen but when added to the notification tray in options it doesn't do anything when I click one of the toggles except close the tray.
Anyone got this to work successfully?
Would really appreciate it if anyone could test this for me as I'd love to have it working properly.
used it while ago and it worked perfectly... when its on the notification bar and you press it it's not like CM7 power controls for example... instead there is a pop window showing up with the controls and there you switch the controls on/off.. used that when i had Axura ROM on my device..
There's an option to turn that pop-up off though and just have the toggles in the notification area. This is what I'm trying to achieve.
I know the app can do it as it works perfectly this way on the incredible s from htc.
Ive turned it off but then nothing happens, I guess its not compatible with 2.3.3 yet...

Thanks for testing. Seems that may he the case, in which case its really nothing more than a glorified power control widget.

VERY Please - But few questions

Very pleased with my silver ONE, but have a couple of questions/observations...
- Co-pilot does not appear to display all the menu items/graphics, was fine on my One X, have re-installed a couple of times..has anyone else had an issue?
- Battery Monitor Widget not showing ma values.. but presume there will be an update for this in due course
- 3 Menu Dots appear is numerous apps, read in another thread that there is nothing that can be done about this. Appears that the pre-release software had the option to remove these (Display. gestures & buttons) ... but production version does not.
- Shame we have lost a few widgets (music player sizes) etc , but can work around this
- Not sure about blink feed... I've gone back to the weather flip clock on my home page
Look forward to hearing other first observations

- No problems with that app
- This is since KitKat Google removed the permission BATTERY_STATS
- Should be fixed since a recent update
- You can extract these apps from your previous ROM and reinstall it
- Since 4.3 you can disable Blink Feed

[Q] Changes within same ROMs on different devices

Hello everyone.
Excuse me if this is the wrong forum for the topic. So far, I haven't found any solution/answer to my problem, which made me turn towards the elite
I have been using Paranoid Android for a long time on my SGS2
[latest version installed: PA 3.99-RC2, built on 3.0.64-CM-gbc8f4c9 for SGS2, pa_i9100-3.99-RC2-20131031.zip]
and everything worked great and I'm still a big fan of this project.
When I got my HTC One (International), I installed PA right away
[PA 3.99-RC2, built on 3.4.10-CM-gbce7128 for HTC One, pa_m7ul-3.99-RC2-20131030b.zip]
Now, both ROMs are working quite fine, it's just that I have noticed some differences in the system settings. More precisely, on HTC One, I'm missing some menu entries.
E.g., I can't set up slider shortcuts in the lock screen. (menu: Lock screen)
I can't set app-specific colours in halo. (menu: Halo)
I can't set up the Network speed indicator in the status bar (menu: User Interface) (the menu with the same icon on HTC One is called "Toolbars" instead and features only 6 entries, while on SGS2, I have 19)
I'm missing the "Adaptive backlight" entry in the Display menu.
These are just some examples. I spare you the screenshots of every menu. Also, on SGS2, some menus are english, some are in system language (german).
Can anyone tell me where these (in my eyes significant) differences come from?

The PA roms are still RC, which means it still in beta. Wait for a official release and see if all the tweaks and settings are there. Hope this helps

Problem in the status bar

Has anyone had this problem of the status bar does not go down with the vertical mode screen on the Xperia Z3 compact? Only down after a long drag your finger on the screen, but the strange thing is that in landscape mode screen down normally. What can it be? Can someone help me?

i had the same problem with my xperia z3
Install "Service Menu" app from Store and do a touch display test, probably that's the issue
Anyone who cannot swipe down notifications or quick settings, due to a broken digitiser, can follow these instructions:
[emoji7]
Download 'All in one Gestures' app from the playstore.
Go to the 'SWIPE' tab.
Enable.
Under 'Edges' , select 'Top Area'.
Then via the apps settings, choose 'Personalization'.
Now under 'Swipe Area', go into 'Edge Preference.
Make 'Opacity' 0%
With 'Edge Sensitivity' start from 0% and keep moving the slide left until the swipe down works, mine is set at 90px.
'Edge Width' 100%
'Swipe Distance' 0%
Now under 'Touch Feedback' turn off both 'Toast Message' and 'Animation'.
Then turn down 'Vibration Intensity' to '0'
Done.
You now have the screen functioning as normal.

Thanks for this: I have successfully used the All in one Gestures app to get the quick-flick status bar pull-down to work on my Z3 Compact.
Googling indicates that this is a very common problem. Many people claim (eg on the Sony user support forums) to have fixed it by getting the digitizer changed. But if it can be fixed reliably by software then that suggests that it isn't a hardware fault. Other evidence against hardware being the culprit is that status bar pull-down works fine on the lockscreen without All in one Gestures being active, and that the Sony diagnostics for the screen indicate that it's working just fine. On the other hand, the fact that the status bar pull-down works fine in landscape mode suggests that it's not a simple software problem.
What I have noticed is that, when using All in one Gestures for status bar pull-down (in both portrait and landscape mode), the response is initially very slow - the status bar initially creeps down much more slowly than it does in landscape mode. Once down, though, it seems to work normally. I have observed the same behaviour using the Drop Down Status Bar app. This suggests to me that there might be something interfering with the Xperia Home app recognising or responding to the status bar pull-down gesture in portrait mode. Perhaps an app with "Draw over other apps" permission? Unfortunately I've no idea how that could be verified, or investigated further.
I have considered trying other versions of the Xperia Home app (my Z3C is running 10.2.A.2.80) or even joining Sony's Xperia Home beta testing program. But I'm a bit wary about mucking around with the Xperia Home app because every time I muck it up, it takes me ages to get it back the way I like it. I've run in to this at least twice in the last week while trying to troubleshoot the status bar pull-down, by accidentally deleting the default Google widget instead, which then seems to be impossible to restore without wiping data for Xperia Home and starting again from scratch (restoring Xperia Home data using Titanium Backup certainly doesn't do it).
UPDATE 2/5/18:
I've had to uninstall All in one Gestures. It was interfering with the stock camera app, pulling down the status bar when I tried to change camera modes or flash settings. It also seemed to make it completely impossible to use customised notification sounds.

I thought this was a software problem at first for the same reason, but the thing about lockscreen is that it slides down due to the downwards movement, it doesn't matter where. Even if you do a downwards motion at the bottom, the status bar will come down.

Sorry, I think you;re wrong about that: when I swipe downwards anywhere else on the lock screen, I get the prompt to enter my unlock pattern. Only if I swipe downwards from the very top of the screen does the status bar pull down. And that works every single time. So I still think it is a software problem.
As I said before, Sony's own hardware diagnostics app finds no problem with the digitizer, and if I use the DropDownStatusBar app then the status bar pulls down very slowly, which suggests the Xperia Home app is having some kind of trouble. Also, despite its other issues, the All in one Gestures app had no problem recognising a swipe down from the top of the screen. IMO the problem is somewhere in the Home app (I'd hypothesise some kind of timing problem that means that Home app takes so long to respond that, by the time it does, it doesn't know what it is supposed to be responding to, so it does nothing).
As a test, I experimented with the Simple Home app. The status bar pull down with that is just as good as on the lockscreen (and still nice and snappy, too).
Well, in the absence of an actual fix for what I still believe is a problem with the Xperia Home app, I decided to experiment with the XDA Navigation Gestures app. This is looking very promising, once I can get used to only having one soft button rather than three (which actually seems to be relatively easy to get the hang of). You have to cough up a whole $1 for the premium edition to get the notification shade pull-down function added to the gesture list, but it works very well (albeit still a bit sluggish, as with the other apps I've tried to get around the problem). I currently have it linked to the double-tap on the 'pill'. One highly useful thing about it is that you can always get at the pull-down, rather than having to go back to the home screen and hunt around for an app icon.
Same problem Z3 compact
Hi, i`m recently having same issue in my z3c screen (top right side).
In general isn´t a hardware problem is a software issue, for example when i enable glove mode screen works with some problem but the screen fully works.
I think maybe an app or settings made the "bug" begin bacause my phone for a long time works fine. In my case could be something with rooting
I havent try jet but flashing z3c with a new rom could work for a fix, im not thinking doing it by known but if the screen "bug" make glove mode stop working ill be force to flash a new rom and try. And i let you know.
Ill wait because i have a z3c marshmallow with root and cyberian camera and i dont wanna lose features.

MIUI Status Bar (keep notifications expanded)

Hi all
I've my phone since two days and I have to say, I deeply dislike MIUI.
The most annoying thing for me is the status bar. I have apps open all day long (for work) with action buttons in the notifications.
If I pull down the status bar, it always opens the second (right) screen, and not the left one with all the notifications. Further, after closing status bar and reopening again (for clicking the action buttons), the notification is not expanded anymore. It does not save, that I've expandet it allready. In these cases, you always have to use two fingers, to expand the notification again. Really annoying! Every other *normal* Android system I had, has behaviour like this...
I don't want to flash RR or CM, there always are bugs and features not working...
The person who can point me to the right direction for addressing these bugs is my hero!
Thanks for all your replies in advance!

Hi,
you provide no information about what rom or what version of miui you are using. This makes it a bit hard to help. My Mi5 runs the xiaomi.eu dev version 6.7.21. The bug you describe is not present on that version. I just tried the "two sided" notification bar and it always expands to the notification side and not to the shortcuts side. But I prefere to use the "one sided" notification bar, which is more comfortable for me. Everything is on one side and the shortcuts are located above.
cheers

Hi Greg
Thanks for your reply. Oops, stupid me.
I'm running MIUI 7 Global 6.5.30 on my Mi 5 Pro.
Maybe they changed this behaviour for the global release.
You mentioned "I just tried the "two sided" notification bar [...snip...]". Are those "one side" notification bars in every MIUI (v7) or do you have some special build? I can't find it in my settings...
Hi,
honestly, I tested miui v7 just for one or two days, then miui v8 came out and I switched directly to this new version. So, i really do not know, if the "two sided" notification bar was firstly introduced in the v8 or if it was a part of the v7 already. Is there something holding you back from flashing the new miui v8? I would do a nandroid backup and test the v8. But don't forget to update your twrp accordingly.
cheers
