Whenever I put the phone in vibrate mode or silent mode, it still lets all sound through. Notifications, ringtones, etc. The phone will show the silent or vibrate notification, but it doesn't have that effect.

You could try to update to either 2.254 (4.1.2) or .266 (4.3) because the current build you have running is a bit outdated

I'd love to, and tried both options tonight, but I couldn't get Flash Tool to root any other firmware, would always hang at "waiting for uevent_helper rw". So I just used my cwm backup and now I'm back to my old system with the same problems....
Any way to help either the Flash Tool problem or the volume problem?
If you want root you need to look futher there are tutorials about rooting

Okay, and I understand that. But as I have searched those extensively and not found a solution to my problem, but I did not post about that as I will figure that out on my own. Can you help the problem described in the OP?? I didn't ask how to root, I asked how to solve a problem about volume...

there is already .370 available would also appreciate to see a ftf of .370 because i need to relock my bootloader to install the update with SEUS/PC Companion (SGP311)
Just be informed that ...370 firmware makes tablet reboot when one tries to navigate /system (mounted r/w) in Root Explorer.

I've got Polish 370 and BT works fine.
SGP311 + Tapatalk 4
DJ-Tumor: I have a European version of Tablet Z. Originally, it came with .344 firmware which I rooted using some method floating around this forum. Then the update to .370 came. First, I installed OTA RootKeeper as advised by someone and made a backup of the root. Then I simply updated the tablet using the built-in Sony's Software update app.
After reboot, the system was still rooted. I am not sure if root survived the update or RootKeeper did it (I am not really familiar with the application). Nevertheless, I now have .370 rooted system and can verify that Bluetooth works fine (I just tried it and it discovered two BT device).
I have the 16GB model SGP311.
Good for you guys....but I still can´t update (Update impossible it says even though I ONLY ROOTED IT).
But what I wanted and seemingly no one understood... I NEED EUROPEAN FIRMWARE 344.
I have a feeling that it´s the Japan firmware why my tablet has infunctional Bluetooth.
I recently got the XPERIA SP(C5303) and I've been wondering whether I should root it or not.
From the information I've gathered currently, I can see a lot of people are having issues.
My main question is..
Is it worth rooting?
What are the pro's and con's of rooting this specific device (Xperia Sp)?
For example, will rooting disable the offline charging features?
What other aspect of the phone will be unavailable if I root..?
I really want to root but these problems are holding me back.
Can anyone reassure me?
Thank you very much.:good:

Despite the issues some uses face I would say rooting has more in favour for than against.
Before rooting you can use flashtools to backup your ROM into a ftf file so you can use of you don't like it.

i dont see why not ROOT such a great piece of hardware...
I didnt know of any offline charging problems but from my experience ROOTed >>unRooted in every aspect.
And its really easy too if you dont undate to .254 version, just connect cable and use doomlords kit.
I have rooted and unlocked bootloader and everything works fine so dont be afraid and ROOT! :good:

repair with SEUS or PC compagnon
I have rooted my SP about 10 times give or take
The last 3 days i kept changing and trying roms and flashing kernels(i relocked and unlocked my bootloader 2 times) (most used program in my PC was flashtool )
But thats just extreme so i slowed down. Overall as zolaisugly said rooting helps you and dont mind about the small bugs that can be repaired easily
Also to make your decision easier you can use these apps : Titanium Backup , Greenify , Light Flow (helped me a lot) , Folder Mount , Link 2 SD !!!!
It just worth it !!!!
so i have a xperia sp with stock rom.id like to know what all problems can be caused by rooting the phone.and after rooting the phone, will the LED light strip stop working?

No ofcourse not (; don't worry. Nothing will be disabled, and for the offline charging bug, just make your own ftf from a repair with SEUS and you'll flash a bug free kernel when done rooting .254

Mere rooting of the phone does NOT give problems.
Unfortunately, with the advent of 4.3, "mere' rooting is not possible unless you install pre-rooted "custom" roms.
A few roms are simply "re-engineered" stock to allow root and recoveries - these give the least problems.
Other roms are modified, and thus have more chances of problems.
I installed this "near stock" rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312 and had no problem
Because I wanted more than stock, I am now on this (the longest I have been on one rom): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043
If you have your own stock in hand, try the above roms. If you encounter problems, it is easy to re-flash your stock.
Your greatest challenge would be to downgrade to 4.1.2 to root before you can install these roms.
Hello! I am rooted and i have the latest kk update for the z1 by nut. I have noticed, that i hear sounds from my phone at very slow speed and sometimes very fast. Also people complain to me that there are gapps in the conversation, where i dont talk, but i always reply instantly after the other person... Any idea why could this be happening? Any possible fix? Thank you!
You need to change the baseband package. Jus download any other ftf file and from that remove top 3 clicks and then jus untick the system from bottom list

Does it have anything to do with the call settings?

Hi mate I'm currently on NUT 681 LB with Rooted and I;m from Singapore.Just curious is there any issue if I just flash the baseband of my regent ftf?Sorry for the noob question,What does baseband mean?
There's an option in settings/call settings "slow talk", just uncheck it
you flash the baseband through flashtool, it talks fast as well as slow so i dont think its slow talk
My issue persists. I have flashed a new baseband from a different ftf. I used the Central Europe one, looked good for a bit, but now i have noticed people talking slowly again...
Edit: Actually, the settings thingy got it working again... So sorry for the big fuss
I recently updated to Android 4.4.4 on my Xperia Z1S and from then on, every time I take a picture, my camera just freezes and I have to lock and unlock in order to get out of the freeze. I haven't been able to take a picture since that time. Oh and btw, my phone is not rooted in any way.
Is there a fix for this? Or do I have to rollback to the previous version?

You are using a rom, its called stock.
Try forcing a repair using pccompanion.
Run it, choose software update and if it says you have the latest software click on the blue "Repair your device" in the dialog box.
This will wipe your phone but will repair the phone

Hi,
I am making an android AOSP 5.1 for my Xperia, but I can't build it for my D5833, Would flashing a D5803 firmware on D5833 make a difference?
I am in Australia with a Z3C brought from Telstra, unlocked bootloader etc.
Nope there should be no problems. I am using a D5803 Italian lollipop firmware on my D5833 and it's working fine

Yeah, I did flash it.
I used xperifirm to download a Generic Latinamerican Firmware, because Im from Chile, and I use carrier Movistar, and their firmware is soooooo old, is the number version you use to root the z3c (the one finishing in .93)
After that, I used flashtool (I used 0.9.18.3) and built the firmware, but left cust-reset.ta and the other reset.ta out of it.
Finally, with the same flashtool I flashed everything, except baseband and in wipe I unticked data.
Took a long while to flash and a longer to boot (optimizing apps blabla) but it runs great.
EDIT: Working with it a little more, the only thing I dont have working is the led notifications.
EDIT2: Yes I do. Turns out I love to use the phone in silent mode...but silent mode [and priority mode] disables led notifications (even if they are in fact enabled in settings). So I have to use "sound mode" and vibration.
