added e2fck of userdata thanks to @myfluxi, should be better now, I hope
in case anyone needs, here is little flashable zip I made that will revert you from ART to Dalvik from recovery (in case of trouble), at least it should.. tested on mine and it works (i tested on cm, but it should be universal).

ie. when new cm nightly comes out that would not boot on art because of some changes and you were using it.

Many ROMs or Gapps don't support it, and when someone accidentally changes to ART and tries to reboot *surprise* phone doesn't boot

Hi,
Because some people want use Xposed stuff (not compatible with ART runtime for now, even if it goes back automatically to Dalvik runtime if you choose ART) and there is still other apps/games not compatible with ART runtime...
And in case of bootloop due to an incompatibility with ART, this flashable zip can be useful.
depends, as I said some of the cm nightlies broke ART so phones would be stuck @ bootloop. yeah, I use ART also, but if your phone doesn't want to boot because of some incompatible change in ROM it is good to have safety net.

Not a valid reason for it to not work. Art works fine in stock rom. Hence, should also work fine on any ROM imo.

Indeed, I've always had that zip in my phone since the first time CM broke Art.
One question:- if I switch to ART..I've heard that the the sdcard space gets less. So when I switch to dalvik will I be able to get that occupied space back? Or I have to factory reset?

no need to factory reset. and that less space on sdcard is almost unnoticeable (well depends on how many apps you have)..

I haven't seen anybody mention this, so ignore me if this is common knowledge. I was on my stock 4.2 rooted ROM with CWM recovery and I got the 4.2.1 system update. Attempted it with CWM... And it worked. But not only did it work, after I choose reboot phone, CWM warned me that the ROM I just installed might try to flash stock recovery, and asked if I'd like to fix it. It then warned that I might lose root, again asking if I'd like to fix it. So now I'm on 4.2.1. Through system update. Kept CWM and root. Awesome!

Seems like "dying" memory block issue. . .
Edit : after format all media card, try to flash a full clean stock rom, if issue still happen, I suggest U must check Ur phone in Service Center. . .
Same prob here it started when I updated to .140 a month ago. It restarts also while locked screen or using normal apps. Try the new update to .141 guess it should fix it.

I know its not necessary but I have installed the latest bootloader: makoz30d and baseband: radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.97 on Nexus 4. Are they supported and will that boost performance ? Derp. Thanks that's what I get for trying to play with a new build so late at night.
I actually found and installed the PA gapps package and that helped immensely. The only other thing I've had to do was uninstall/reinstall Google voice. Before I did that the phone was running hot (something was keeping the CPU awake). Seems to be running okay now though.

I reserve the right to be wrong but I think the baseband and boot loader didn't change from 4.3 to 4.4. At least my handset already had the versions that ate shipping in the factory 4.4 image package.

well I'm 2 for 2 on the migration to CM11
I would say modem / bootloader upgrades are recommended based on how poor my handset worked as a phone today...
EDIT: I figured out why I missed the bootloader / modem update. I downloaded the factory image and unpacked it, then looked at the file names. The files usually reflect the version but in this case they are still named after the 4.3 versions and not the 4.4 versions. After flashing anyway KRT16S gives me bootloader MAK0Z30d and modem .97

So far I've had no luck in rooting the Cam2, I'm missing xPosed and Gravity Box. There are some minor hardware differences between the two cameras and the Cam2 is on JB 4.3. Failing root on the Cam2, one might be able to pull the apk from rom.
Oh yeah we would still need the newer bootloader. It's annoying that Samsung have just forgot about us.

It hasn't been rooted yet. Most of the root methods don't work on the Galaxy Camera 2. I'm going to make a request of Chainfire to see if cf-autoroot is possible, assuming I extracted the recovery.img correctly.
I've been able to pull some of the camera app files from my Cam2, not sure I've got all of them. The manifest does have some permissions that don't exist on the original camera.
Has anyone seen a download for the surround shot addon for the gs5? It's available on Samsung apps and for 4.2+ but only for the gs5:crying:

Thanks, just got it today. Its a nice camera!
It's a really good camera. I wanted to get the original Galaxy Camera about a year ago, but for a few reasons didn't. I really don't understand why they didn't include(or offer as an add-on) the surround shot, I have it on my Note3 and I've had that for almost 6 months.
So how is the new root working for you? Were you on the most current fw when you rooted?
Also, do you know of the camera is Knox?
Did you lose data after rooting?

Maybe update this thread with what you've mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594961&page=2

Root is working well. I've got GravityBox(JB), XHaloWindow, and XQuickSettingsToggle loaded via Xposed. I probably won't load any others since there's no way to disable xposed if it goes into a boot loop since I don't have custom recovery.
The camera had the latest firmware(NC2, per SamMobile) and while I was asked to disable a Knox program after I rooted, it does NOT have a root switch on the download screen as my Note3 does.
All data was preserved in rooting, though backup early and often(like voting in Chicago).
Here's the link that I first posted in the other thread:
http://download.chainfire.eu/414/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-sf2wifi-sf2wifixx-ekgc200.zip
I see 4 others have also taken the plunge.
Thanks for the update. Will you be flashing a custom recovery?

Uh, not sure who the recovery experts would be.
I've had no problems with gravity box, I like pie.
Good to know. I have been googling search with exposed module name + boot loop and gravity box popes up a few times. It looks like their have been version that can cause boot loops. So be careful upgrading?

Edit: I don't recommend using gravity box, just tried it very near soft brick. Managed to disable the module after uninstalling grav box, it wasn't easy

That's odd, works perfectly on my GC200.
I turned on edit notifications, pie and then advanced reboot. Next the screen went black camera vibrated for about 15 secs then eventually rebooted. Upon rebooot the android interface was brutally slow with some fc here and there but I managed to slowly navigate to exposed to uninstall.

I've got greenify, boot manager and app settings working no problem. Does exposed Disabler work through the Samsung recovery?

Also forgot to mention, exposed did auto uninstall after rebbot

Not sure about notifications, but I've got pie and advanced reboot enabled.
I'm not sure about using the xposed disabler via the samsung recovery since it's not signed.
Any news on a custom recovery, I asked philz but he hadn't responded yet. BTW do you know whet to download original fw for this camera, in case something goes wrong?

I haven't heard anything about recovery, I downloaded the fw from SamMobile.
