DLNA® by Huawei®
This is one great alternative app that you might want to look into. I was looking for a ported version of LG's SmartShare app because I have a DLNA TV which I rendered more or less useless without the SmartShare app which is not working on custom roms (CM, AOKP, SlimRom and so on). I have tried BubbleUpnP, iMediaShare and some other app which was either laggy or you had to buy the pro version to enjoy listening to more than 5 songs(yep, for me those are both of those aforementioned). So I was digging and found this beauty. A standalone Stock app by Huawei which did the job great and maybe even better.
It features:
Standard DLNA sharing of Videos, Music and Photos
Connecting to your PC and playing shared media files FROM it on your TV/Phone
Downloading shared files/transfering from PC or other device connected and sharing
Cons:
Maybe a little tricky to set up
Music isn't shuffled, photos probably either
Grab it and enjoy. Worked for me on CM10, CM10.2, SlimBean 4.3 and CM11. All credits go to the original porter, TeamAndroid, and to Huawei, of course.

Thanks so much. Been searching forever and everyones links are broken but yours. ????????

Hey, I've been all over google for the past hours and I simply can't find any good android program like TV Forecast for the iPhone..
If you're not familiar with TV Forecast, here's a sample of how it looks. Very basic but very handy:

If you have anything like this for a TV-freak, please help me out
Try this one http://www.cyrket.com/package/ukfree.jersey.tvguide
this may suffice for a bit, i wrote it myself, it simply parses a text file from tvrage.com
http://pdxvr.com/wap/t.php
you can limit the number of days by adding a ?d=n on the end of the url where 'n' is a number below 7
I use Record it by Austin Reid, if u have sky plus it can sync with ur account and u can set ur box to record when ur out.
Today I started to keep the history of the TVRage feed I use for the web app and made some links to those days - mostly so I can see the season/episodes I may have missed.
http://wap.pdxvr.com/t.php
I saw there was an app on the market that parsed the same file I used and shows you that. I think my interface looks nicer than the app even though it's just a web page.

First impression is quite good. Haven't used winamp for some years now but will give it a try, especially the WiFi Sync is very interesting.
Fast, and one of the best music players I ever used.
Using it for the past 2 days, and I mist say, Superb, The first media player that does not impact system performance, and the battlife when playing music is nice with this one aswell, dont use all the sync **** and stuff, just a clean and fast player, the way I love it, same with the PC one, only install the needed stuff, not even installed the library on it
But its a recomended app for simple fast and easy to use music playback
You can also test "PowerAMP" very nice too!
I must say, very nice player as well, if you like a more advanced looking interface, an EQ then its really nice
ADAMa Launcher Alpha - This is the NI ADAM Launcher ported for G-Tab use.... codename(ADAMa). Update.zip format. Install like you would a ROM with CM. This will install the Launcher, Video Player, and their dependencies.
It Is SLOW.... not sure if that can be improved upon or not. Also it is buggy and the status bar disappears while on the home screen.... it's there everywhere else. This is a WIP and may not get any better. BUT I know you guys wanted it. Uninstall involves deleting the two added apps in system/app. the dependency stuff will not affect your tablet if left on at all.

After trying the Adam ROM that Roebeet posted, I have to say, I like the speed of the browser but not the browser UI. And the launcher is okay at best in terms of performance - the concept is cool though. Maybe the next release will be speedier.
Thanks gojimi. Tried out the ROm, but it's not really to my taste. I do want to keep playing around with the Launcher though.
You know the rom is slooowwwww, but this launcher on top of tnt is great! Thanks so much from this and the other apps!
thanks for this app
Is this still a WIP? Or has developement ceased
Me and bitbof recently released his sketching application for Android, called Webchemy. You can quickly experiment and find new shapes with this tool. It's based on the desktop drawing app Alchemy (http://al.chemy.org) which may some of you are familiar with.
You can get the app here:

Webchemy is also available as a web version: http://webchemy.org
(Runs pretty much everywhere. including iPhone, iPad, Desktop, etc - in your browser)
The point of the Android app is that it's a better experience than drawing in a browser on your tablet or phone. The App has the advantage of running offline, fullscreen, and it allows you to load existing drawings.
Features:
Lots of different drawing modes
Symmetry (vertical and horizontal)
Load, save and share drawings as lossless PNGs (artifact free)
10 Undo/Redo steps (even after clearing the canvas)
Color palettes and Color Slider
Eyedropper tool
Pro Version (for ~$0.99):
Watermark free image saving
Fully unlocked in all future updates

I hope you enjoy Webchemy. Please feel free to post your feedback.
Is there a way, from a separate device (laptop, mobile device etc), to view what a Chromecast device is currently playing? Essentially, stream in the opposite direction of what the Chromecast is intended for.
Example:
I've got a youtube video playing on my television thru my Chromecast. I've put it there via my mobile phone. From my laptop, can I connect to the Chromecast and see what it is playing?
From the chrome browser, It should tell you what app it is using. No details though. Just "Netflix" or "YouTube"

If you happen to connect using the same app that launched the content it will in some cases tell you what content is playing to ensure you want to jump onto the control channel.
But it's not really possible to jump onto a Plex App Control Panel from some other app other than Plex....
Same would be true for YouTube and Netflix I would suspect.
There's an Android app called RemoteCast that attempts to connect to a Chromecast already running an app and take over control. If it succeeds, it shows you what's playing and lets you ff/rew/vol+- etc.. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in a long time, and doesn't work for most Chromecast apps these days, but the potential is there.
