Not much that you will directly notice, but since the att s4 is getting it now, Id say the Note 3 is just around the corner, looking at the sprint kitkat roll out.
To be honest I have the s4 and note 3. The s4 has the update to kitkat and it just looks to barely change things. Gave it one app, and some stuff that you probably can't see. Thank God they found a way to go backwards from kitkat on the s4. That way SS and root can be installed.

I disagree, after the 4.4 upgrade on my old lady's i337 S4 the phone was much smoother, has better battery life, and has lower RAM usage. Also Google Wallet touch to pay is working.
If you've been using Samsung Touchwiz phones for a long time there hasn't been much visual changes since Gingerbread or FroYo.

Just curious where all these Roms for our Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 are?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
We have lots of them ..which "great one " are you waiting for :what:
Seems like many of the DEVs have left Sprint for Verizon and/or decided they like their Note2's better.A lot of the rest all seem to be obsessed with AOSP/AOKP/CM Roms despite the fact that it removes most of the functionality that makes this phone great.
Unfortunately the blind hatred of TouchWiz for no good reason is hurting this phone.
Learn to build your own rom.

Ya on all the aosp the cameras are not even close to the stock one"unless there is a stock camera apk .".I see your point.. really haven't looked at it like that..that being said I would still never go back .pacman with faux =:beer:
There are as many good roms for the Sprint version as there are for the others. Also, you guys should feel lucky that that Sprint has felt charitable enough to not lock this device down like Verizon and AT&T have as devs are indeed leaving those versions even as we speak.....

I don't even think I have seen a single Dev from either the epic touch community or gs3 go from sprint to Verizon.I've seen ATT and T-Mobile. Anyways we have many great devs in our community. And you can't expect every single one that you like to get the same phone as you. Since we don't all have upgrades at the same time. Some may have used it on a gs3 and now can't upgrade until gs5 or simply don't have the money to upgrade. We are all regular people. My guess is that by black Friday time we will have many more devs come over. This happened with the gs3. The number of Roms jumped a lot from what I remember since some people were able to get the gs3 for a penny with an upgrade.
And since when is there a blind hatred for touch wiz. Over the past two years I have seen more people prefer Touchwiz Roms over AOSP based. Easy comparison, check the number of posts and views of all aosp based Roms to that of touchwiz. And tell me which one has more. This goes for the sprint gs3 as well. From my view Touchwiz is the most stable and fully functional ROM for Samsung phones.

My main concern is that they usually only make significant UI changes with major numerical version updates. Since it's 4.4 and not 5.0, my thought is that there will be probably a few new features within more or less the same UI. That's not a problem, per se, but in my opinion the current Android UI is getting a little stale and could really use a refresh (especially the launcher). That's mainly what I'm hoping for in the next version of Android. I suppose we only have a couple months until we find out for sure though.

I personally like the way android's interface is right now. Besides there are many options with custom romming and custom launchers that allows you to customize it so much that a "major upgrade" isn't necessary. Just my opinion though.

OH REALLY?
Please send me a link to a Sprint GS4 4.3 leak or ROM. The international and other GSM carriers have a leak which has been ported to the Sprint gs4, but this isnt from sprint. So how do you expect to have a 4.4 KitKat Official update to the Sprint GS4 in the next month or so if we don't even have 4.3 yet. It at least another 1 month before we get 4.3 official update. then another 2-3 months for 4.4 update. Which puts it in the Jan/Feb range. So do not tell me I am ignorant and stupid.
And you should really read the rules. Here is the specific one I am referring to, just in case you forgot it.
2.3 Flaming / Lack of respect: XDA is about sharing which does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) or rudeness. Flaming or posting with a lack of respect is not acceptable. Full functionality with the exception of S-Voice (though I have read others have been able to get it working - i'm not really interested in S-Voice just yet).
Notifications I had to manage without using Gear Manager (the latest Gear update added a HUGE notification update) using these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597260
You may have better luck getting gear manager to work on your S3. I had too many issues trying to get it to work and once I got notifications to work using the method above - stopped caring about Gear Manager.

I think it is unlikely that Note 3 users will get anything better than what we saw with that particular dev even though it was a pretty shady situation.

Oh wells, like someone else said on this thread. Someone will figure out the porting process and take care of us AT&T users.
I'm still using KR for now until a better KitKat ROM is out. I wasn't experiencing any issues except a messaging fc when using the pen to show a preview. I was able to fix this by flashing another ROM and using titanium backup to backup messages and flash back to KR then do a restore in titanium. So I guess I'm staying for now.

My guess is we won't see it until the note 5 is released
The Sprint Note 4 is getting 5.1.1 today. We will have it soon...
I can't believe Tmo is letting sprint beat it A $$....

If device updates are your metrics for a butt kickin' then yes, Sprint is kicking T-Mobile's pink little ass.

Given t-mobiles track record I wouldn't doubt it. As long as the next update is better than the lollipop update I can wait.

Check Post #4
I take anything T-Mobile says with a full shacker of salt, their update schedule well I need a bit more salt than that. When I have it installed and rooted is when I start claiming stake to release information lol.
Waiting
Ain't to much changed on 5.1.1 sprint seem the same to me. Feel a little smoother only time will tell.
Nothing special about 5.1.1 but a bunch of internal fixes, no noticeable changes. Its going to work for some, but not for others, as always...
