I re-rooted with kingo after the update. Knox is still fine. Some users report that newer versions of kingo don't work. I used ver1.8 and it was flawless.

I am currently rooted with RDLV on version MI1. I am trying to get to MJ5 unrooted at the moment. Although my knowledge is minimal (coming from Jailbreaking Iphone 5s), I am worried something might happen. If I use Odin and "flash" (I think thats the word), couldn't I just "flash" MJ5 without tripping Knox and messing up my phone?
Or should I go to MI9 and use the OTA update?
Is it possible to update my phone to the MJ5 update without updating the bootloader?
My phone is still on MI9, and I'm able to use Root_de_la_Vega N900AUCUBMI9. However, I heard they addressed a few issues that affect me in the MJ5 firmware. Is it possible to upgrade to MJ5 without updating the bootloader as well... all without tripping Knox??
(PS. I've been Googling this for over a week now, and I've yet to find an answer.)

Just update to MJ5 and don't worry about the bootloader. You can still ROOT with Kingo as it has been approved by XDA now and it does not trip KNOX.
AT&T pushed OF3 to my phone without my consent. I hadn't rooted it yet. Is there any way to root the device or should I put it up on eBay?
Nothing yet I'm afraid. And as far as I know, it's not possible to ODIN back to the previous version once on OF3
Yeah I can confirm downgrade is not possible. Although I think downgrading Kernels and then using Pingpong will gain root. Not 100% sure
this happened to me too

I NEED THAT! I cant find flashhable kernels anywhere for of3 or ng2. I got a phone on OF3 n cant do anything.
I've searched and researched. I'm not finding a matching thread/procedure for my situation. I've never rooted before so I wanted to make sure I was following the right procedure. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm currently running stock recently updated AT&T 5.0 N900AUCUEOC2. I don't care if I remove stock apps and I'd prefer not to trip odin if possible. Backups of all my files have already been done manually and I'm ready for a reset/wipe.
Is it safe for me to follow the procedure for oc1 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/update-procedure-lollipop-5-0-oc1-t3063760?
What is the difference between wipe and non-wipe tars?
Will it force OTA update to OC2 after I do root procedure for OC1? Will OC2 be rooted afterwards?
Is someone working on a procedure for OC2?
I've had the same problem and haven't been able to root. Someone should try to work on this I'm sure we're not the only ones
Ditto, Att note 3 running oc2. I've tried odin and a few one click programs with no luck.
Have anyone found a way to root OC2?
There are many posts explaining how to root. Unfortunately, I don't think It can be done while on lollipop. None of the popular root tools work on lollipop (kingoroot/towelroot). You have to odin back to NC2 (Kitkat), Root, install safestrap and busybox, then you can install OC2 in safestrap via a pre-rooted OC2 ROM or backup.

Hitmizzle, you summarized very well :good: - I also spent days trying to find a root method on OC2 but to no avail. Eventually I ended up restoring to NC2, rooted, then installed a pre-rooted OC2 as you described. I think the admin should bookmark your post so as to save much time for other people.
OC2 OTA
I'm running OC1 rooted and got a notification for an update which I assume is OC2. If I take that OTA update will I lose root on my device?

Yes, assuming the update doesn't fail. If you want OC2, there's a rooted OC2 ROM update at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006
Hi, i have a GM-G800F rooted with Android 4.4.2.. Firmware is TMS (Slovakia).
When i connect it to PC, Kies shows that there is new firmware and that i can upgrade it. But when i use OTA, i get a message that phone has modified software and i cannot upgrade through it.
If i upgrade through Kies, will the upgrade succeed? Or is there any risk of bricking my phone? Is upgrading a rooted GM-800F to 5.1.1 even possible? I guess KNOX will remain 0x1?
Knox will remain 0x1 no matter what you do now. OTA does not work because you have root, if Kies works it will probably remove root. If anything goes wrong you can flash stock ROM via Odin, but backup your data before doing anything...

So if i upgrade through Kies, will the upgrade complete? I mean, it is possible to upgrade a rooted phone from 4.4.2 to 5.1.1., correct? And then the phone will have 5.1.1 without root?
I don't know how Kies works, that's why I wrote "if it works".
