I was wondering if it would be posible to take the apk for the sense 5.0 lockscreens out and put them into a rom running 5.5? I miss tha photo album lockscreen and would like to put it on a rom with a 4.4 build preferably viperrom.
Would it work if i replaced the HTCLockscreen.APK from ViperOne_5.5.1 with the APK from Stock W Goodies 2.09 ROM that i am currently running?
Well it could work but it will definitely mess up some tweaks as lockscreen.apk is modified to incorporate the respective Viper tweaks.
Why not just try it? Pull a backup of the Viper apk (or you could also dirty flash the ROM later if things break) and then adb push the older lockscreen and see what happens...

I will try that, i wasn't sure if i could just push that APK over the old one. I will give it a try.
Thanks
Just to be clear i can just push HtcLockScreen.apk and it should install over the other one. I will try it later after i get off work and post what happened tomorrow.

I think @Sneakyghost didn't get want you want to do.
He thought you want to take the lockscreen.apk from ViperOne 5.0.0 and replace it in our current one.
To answer your question correctly: No you wont be able to simply take the Sense 5.0 lockscreen apks and put them into a Sense 5.5 rom to get the lockscreen styles back. Tbh I see no way to get them back without spending massive time on it...one notice here, without proper coding knowledge and reverse egnieering you wont be able to achive anything here. I'm pretty know of the code responsible for the lockscreen..both the Sense 5.0 and Sense 5.5 one...and actually I would say it's impossible to achieve without owning the source code.
Bummer! OK thanks for the answer. Not a deal breaker or anything, just thought it might be worth a try.

first of all Kudos and a big thanks to ihtfp69 for making a great Froyo ROM for our phones, he has done one hell of a job.
I am not that big on HTC Sense, it has it's good parts but I don't use half of what is included. that said i have created a little update that will remove all the necessary files to have as close to a Senseless ROM as possible with the stock lockscreen and the bootup sound. you will end up with the same Froyo ROM but without HTC Sense.
and one more time for good measure, this is NOT a ROM, it is a zip file with apps, and instructions to delete certain Sense apks.
Apply this update as you normally would through recovery. below is a list of removed apps and apps that I have added.
This will work on Sky Raider's or any other de-odexed Sense ROM, and As always I am not responsible for your device in any way, shape, or form.

Nice Job! I'm about to wipe my old Sky fire and install 1.7. I will try this right after so that you can have some feedback. I'm curious to see the linpack and quadrant with a lot of the sense apps removed.
Thanks for your hard work! I LOVE this forum!
How about calling it "Sky Raider's Insensitive Froyo!"
Thanks man, saves me time taking it apart myself
Should warn people though that removing Freindstream.apk is going to make Facebook/Contacts sync not function...

thanks for reminding me, I added that in.
Is there any way to get the stock phone and dialer into this ROM instead of the HTC versions? I may be in the minority but one of the things I like best about the Stock Android ROM's is the way the phone UI is laid out.

It works as advertised. Thanks for the work. I've attached some screenshots.
The linpack's and quadrants didn't change:
Sky Fire's 1.7 as it comes:
Linpack 35-36 Quadrant high 700's
with Hydra's UV\OC 1.115 (with and without the sense apps)
Linpack 40-45 Quadrant mid 800's
still need to hold out until camera works but thanks for this effort
I know I am going to miss the camera but the unrevoked v3 put me over the edge. Flashed to Sky Raider 1.8 and then ran your update. Seems to have worked perfect. Thank you for this!
Thanks very much for this!
i went to 1.8 and then flash this sense removal, but i still want to be undervolted, am I able to flash that kernel with I have done so far or will i break my phone by doing that?

this sense removal tool does not affect your kernel in any way, whatever kernel you have after installing SR 1.8 will still be the same after this removal zip. flashing SR 1.7 to 1.8 will change your kernel, and if you were using a different kernel you will have to reflash that kernel.
I have now added two sense remover zip files that will add droid X boot animation (red and Blue) I have also added zips that will just add bootanimation (blue and red) for the users that have already run the sense remover, or for anyone that wants to change the bootanimation.

yes it is done the same way. I will add that in the OP
So, just in the interest of experimentation, I ran this Sense removal script on a 2.1 stock. Interestingly, it seemed to work pretty darn well with the only major flaw I'm noticing is that the unlock screen requires you to drag the unlock up and the silent down. Kinda sweet if you hate sense but want to keep your camera. Now to figure out why that unlock screen is being a weirdo...
EDIT: Also, the boot animation didn't seem to push properly. No biggie, though.
EDIT #2: Scratch that. Definitely running into more errors. Lol. Well my curiosity is satisfied.
could someone post the apks for the Twitter widget and the HTC clock/weather? I miss the stop watch and count down timer in the clock and the HTC Twitter widget is the best ive seen of the free widgets. tank you.
will this fix the bug with Barcode Scanner where it shows all your contacts as numbers when you try to share them?
I'm waiting for SkyRaider to get the camera on, but once he gets it i'll probably switching over. I don't really like/use sense though, and was curious if this fixed an annoying-ass bug.
Let me explain what I mean by "casual". I've come to find that I always end up removing stuff from custom ROMs that I don't like/don't use and end up with something much much better.
With NFX's permission (should he give it) I'd like to make a custom ROM based on my slimmed down approach, one that left me with tons of free space, lots of free RAM, great battery life, and smooth operation. I'm looking at the ROM right now, and I'm wondering; is there anything special I need to know about adding my own apks to be preinstalled with the ROM? I'd like to add Fancy Widget and LauncherPro since I stopped using the Sense Launcher. My ideal setup is one where the app is recognized by the market so that it can be updated as and when needed. Also, what can I do to ensure that LauncherPro is the default launcher?
I'd love to get into this. I'm not big on code editing but have no issue with doing so when needed, can anyone nudge me in the right direction?
Update #1: My first attempt failed . I was using Nfinite's Odexed NFX Rom. I tried to just change around the apps in the data/app/ folder. Also attempted to delete all the HTC Sense Widgets beforehand. (I do this after install, but I wanted to do it before.) Should I not be working with an odexed ROM, and is there some sort of signature process that I need to be using?
Pretty sure you need deodexed.

Like some else said you'll need the deodexed rom. Also if your altering the rom for personal purposes there is no need to ask nfinite... if you post the rom then you'll need to ask and give props.
Next you need some kind of rom manager tools so that you can sign and zip align your apk and have a flashable after you make your changes. maybe read threw the rom cooking guide on the hero wiki page also.
You most definitely what an odexed ROM. Its been a while since I messed with it, but i think you will want to place apps you want updated in /data/app. As for the default launcher, it should ask which one you want as default when you first boot into the ROM.

@[email protected] Confusion. A few people above have said I need deodexed?
The only problem you will run into with odexed vs deodexed is changes to any jar files within an apk on system. Only really applies to framework level edits. Things like removing haptic or rotary lock screen or battery percentage mods, etc.

I meant to type deodexed. I was so tired and doing ten things at once. Didn't even reread what I was posting.

Ah. Nah, the only thing I'd love to experiment with is to swap out images and png files. The functionality of the ROM and its inner workings are fine . Assuming that I can remove all the HTC widgets and a few of the apps I won't be using (using LP, so Sense Widgets are unneeded), and that I can set a default launcher, and perhaps mess around with all the status bar icons/button images, that's all I want to do

You will need deodexed
You can always re-Odex it afterwards.
I assume you've realized this, as you have a stable odexed ROM out, but I'm putting it up for reference's sake. Don't want someone reading the thread and getting the wrong idea.
I'm running a de-odexed ZSJPJ rom (Ramad's). It seems that the only way to get the puzzle piece lockscreen is to flash a theme that has the 4 lockscreen settings. I don't really want to flash a theme especially since a lot of these are based on older frameworks and I just want the lockscreen.
If anyone can point me to a comprehensive how-to, that will be fine. Thanks in advance.
yeah you need to change the android.policy.odex in the system\framework\ folders.
You can just take the file from a theme that has it and use root explorer to transfer it to your phone.
or you can just use the StockPlus082percentageFF theme which is a stock theme with all the current lock screens.
Link for stock theme with 5 lockscreens: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952579
I've seen Stockmod Plus, but I think he uses an older framework. ZSJPJ rom has some issues from what I've read. Anyway, thanks. I'll google android.policy.odex and see where it leads.

yeah but you can just take the android.policy.odex file from it and install it separately. just replace the one file with the one you have on your phone.
Stock Gingersense Debloated (For now)

as i have time i will try to update this but im really new to roms so i might need help.

This has already been done. Liberation ROM by jaykresge here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087268
Unless you wanted add your own flavor or something
yah i think once i get down how to do it i will add my own flavor but for now i was also thinking of ADDING some apps (rom manager ect.) to make it easier. as i said this is my first rom though.
I think someone should make the stock gingersense with the new 3.0 lockscreen. The new beta gingersense 2.1/3.0 are laggy do to the higher demand on RAM
ill try that. i already deleted some of the APK's but ill see if i can get the 3.0 lockscreen working. thanks for the suggestion
You should give it a try
ok i just tried adding it. im doing a backup then i will see how it works.
EDIT: nvm i dound what i did wrong... i had it all in an extra folder XD

Its kinda hard to know whats wrong with your file. It would be easier to trouble shoot if you gave your steps step by step that you took to make/compile this. Without looking at your file I could take two guesses. 1. Its not zipped properly. 2. Your update-script is messed up somewhere. Check those. Then move forward from there.
Note: If you are using CWM3+ on your test phone then you will have to use edify scripting.
sucessfuly flashed it... booting right now and ill tell you my results
No go on the lockscreen. it just booted as vanilla.
This would be my suggestion. I like the 3.0 lock screen, but it seems to be a memory hog.
What I'd like to see in a 2.1 ROM
-Vanilla lockscreen.
-3.0 Notification bar with slight transparency - white.
-Lots of cool stock looking wallpapers and any other LWP if they don't lag.
-Our KB, not the one with arrows.
Just an over all smooth stock rom.
This is a 1.0 ROM. And to get vanilla in 2.1 go menu>settings>display>stock android lockscreen. Also, the arrows one is in 3.0.
The 3.0 lockscreen will likely never work on DInc GingerSense, unless your name is IHTFP69. It's just incompatible with Sense 1.0.
yea i figured that out... i changed the lockscreen APK and it put in in a bootloop
Would anyone be so kind as to either -
1) Upload the Framework.res.apk / SystemUI.apk / com.htc.resources.apk for me to download?
2) Point me to where I can download them myself?
I would simply pull them from my gf's T-Bolt, but, I'm trying to create a custom theme for her without her knowing! She knows just enough about android to know something is up if I were to go and steal her phone and pull these files myself...
Any help at all would be totally awesome! Thank you!
Too many questions unanswered
Is her phone even rooted? If so what rom?
Both of those will determine where you can get all the stock images.
If she is and on a sense 3.0 rom I might Suggest rootzwiki.com and grab a rom from team BAMF. they usually have all stock images.
Im pretty sure they have regular sense for stock phone, sense 3.0 and 3.5. So they should have everything you might need.
