for all those who do not have the 4K video recording
i've extracted the Camera file from my G Flex which is already running the 4K on 4.2.2
i'm on international version of D958 10c Hongkong.
this is just to try if you guys are desperate for 4K video recording.
extract the 2 files and place them in system/app replacing the existing one's but before doing so please backup the original files at a safe destination so that if it does'nt work's, you can always restore your original files.
it's a very safe mode. replacing camera file's cannot brick any mobile. but still you as per XDA Rules you are doing this at your own risk if camera app disappears, install lenovo camera which gives even more freedom
first try by giving a normal permission like rw-r-r and if have issues try giving full permission.
Please report if it works
have a nice day!

UHD (ultra HD) is same as what is there on Note 3. and it's termed as 4k
but the point is, we do not have 4K tv's to watch the videos we take. how can we take any advantage of it. unless buy the hi-end Samsung quard core smart TV's which cost a kidney.

do one thing. do not replace the files but first delete them and exit from root explorer. again open root explorer and now copy the original files. the permission for original file is rw--r--r--
and restart the device

The D955 has already UHD on board
Camera Hd
I just bought my Lg G Flex about two weeks ago here in Wash State from Tmobile.
I already have the UHD video size of 3840x2160.
I tried video recording and it records just fine.
Looks very good.
I also loaded the Lenovo Super Camera Apk and it works great on my Flex...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427015
There is finally a camera app that supports UHD. Check out Open Camera on the Google play store.
i saw on the lg g2 forums that it was possible to install an app that could add 120fps to the recording, is this possible for the flex?
Which version of the G Flex doesn't come with UHD video recording?

The op is posting this for those wanting the ability to use the camera. If you want to comment on whether the app has a problem, then thats constructive. If your just commenting because you dont see the purpose in the app, then it is not constructive.

Hi,
I make my presence again with the LG Camera App for all roms. It was not my work. All credits go to sefnap for modding the LG Camera app to work on all roms. It also has a lot of features like the Lenovo Camera App and one specialty is that this app has video light functionality too. Has a minor bug that the dual camera doesn't work but rest seems fine here. Hope you enjoy

VR panorama not working
I downloaded LG Camera specifically to try the VR panorama on PACMAN rom 1113. Tried with at 13 mb resolution and I get a green screen in the area where the camera image should be. It seems the app is not reading the camera inthat setting. All other settins seem to work, excpt dual camera, as stated in op.
Lenovo Camera does not have VR pano ou similar, AFAIK, and honami camera does not work on Pacman rom, so, I'll have to keep looking:silly:

Are people really sure about their "this cam is worse than the others" ideas, and so? I mean, how would an app make the camera better? Other than direct JPG compression, then I dont really see how. For me its more about the features of the camera. This APP FC's alot for me but once I got to start a recording, it seems to have a pause & continue, while recording, feature. Something I'd really like and something I don't understand why isn't in the stock Sony cam app.

NEW: LGCamera Port for Android 4.3 ALL and i9500/i9505
Hi Guys,
I have compiled the latest LGCamera App and its supporting depedancy libraries to make it work on Android 4.3 General ALL and i9500/i9505. This is a tested package and All the features are working as expected. Device to Device features might work or might not work.
"BSDgeek_Jake_LGCamera_Port_AndroidGeneric4.3ALL_i9500_i9505_CWM" to be Flashed from CWM recovery.
"BSDgeek_Jake_LGCamera_Port_AndroidGeneric4.3ALL_i9500_i9505_MANUAL" to be extracted to '/system' and manually set permissions to '0.0' (root:root) and '644' (rw-r-r). You might want to use "Root Explorer" to achieve this or your prefered explorer which has root capability.
NOTE: Before doing any modification to your device, please Remember to take Backup for your Device through CWM. Although i have tested this package thoroughly and found no issues BUT I am not responsible for any issues which might arise.

The Camera Hardware is the Cake but Software algorithm is also part of the story. Through software pre/post-processing algorithm one can achieve the best out of the existing Hardware and its almost close to the Best it can get. Filters algorithms make it more Professional.
Few of of the Apps which i see has this potential and excell in Image processing. OEM Apps i exclude due to lesser configuration options.
Holo Camera PLUS (Best i have seen)
Camera360 Ultimate (this has got some excellent imaging capabilities)
Snap Camera HDR (Perfect for HDR Imaging)
Camera FV-5 (Extensive Configuration Options, This is only for PRO Users)
Camera Awesome (Good to Have)
I hope i answered yours... Cheers.

You sure did answer, thanks. Also, regarding your fixed LG Cam you posted in one post earlier, I downloaded the manual install version. I'm gonna assume the "lib" files are crucial to makes this camera app work? There wont be trouble, by changing the lib files, with other camera apps or so?

If you're referring to the "double-twist" to activate the camera, I was wondering the same. It's tied to the OEM camera app, so... renaming the G4 camera app and copying its folder structure over the OEM one? I could try, but doubt it could be that simple.[emoji14]

Just installed in the Moto G camera and I quite like it. I like the option that it gives you to use the old style of taking photos or use the method that practically every other camera app uses.
I managed to get Quick Capture to work. I disabled quick capture in the original camera app and enabled it in the new Moto G camera app. You need to be rooted for the rest to get the twist launch to work. I used an Xposed module called TwistySwitch Beta available in this thread:
[XPOSED] Twisty Switch Experimental Update
and just chose the new Moto G Camera app. It works perfectly and in the same way as the original app.
I am not sure how to get around this working if you are not rooted as this seems to be the only way to work around what is built into the stock software.
Hope this helps.

It was installing fine, but gave FC when I started it (I gave it all the permissions requested). After I saw the Camera 4.2 working I enabled the old Camera and both are working fine. I intend to stick with the new one since it is working fine for me.

For your info guys. The 60fps is actually 30fps, only the camera distributes it as 60fps, because in fact the camera apk is meant for Pixel devices. For 30fps+ recording we'd need a tweaked software. There was a guy who enabled the 60fps and even 120/320fps on Nexus 5. The developer of LCamera (search on github).

60fps (only 720p) is real. Not is slowmotion, but video @60fps.

Does it mean that it records 60frames pet second? It's a software limitation, that could only be enabled through reverse engineering.

I have doubts too. but if you can sense the difference of 30fps and 60fps when recording, it has a very good chance 60fps working.
Better put the video on PC to check it, or MX player.
you are right.... even if the properties of the file is assigned 60fps, the video is not fluid seen on pc
I took the same video at 30 and 60 fps ..... They have the same kbps!
As you guys probably know, this port of Google's Pixel app has been doing the rounds on XDA and various users report much better quality photos with it on Snapdragon devices.

Has anyone tried this on the Nokia 8? Does it work? If yes, could you post some sample photos and comparison with Nokia's own default camera app? I'm especially interested in low-light situations.
Thank you
yes, hdr+ is giving me awesome photos.
sadly we need to edit media_profiles.xml to add profiles for slow-motion and HFR.
can't alter the system for now as there is no bootloader unlock (thus no custom recovery or root).
Thank you.
I mostly care about HDR+ so that's great to hear.
Have tried the Google camera app and I believe at the moment I get better results. The Nokia software algorithms need some work I think.

I will update as further messing with the camera that the night shots with flash on with the pixel are shockingly bad. The flash is not working correctly. Pictures are not being lit up enough. It's a dual tone flash on the Nokia but with pixel APK, it's not firing the brighter flash

Which is the best version of this app to run on Nokia 8?
I think the ones linked here will be good:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-updated-zero-shutter-lag-xiaomi/
Filename MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Min_v.1.4.apk

This was a good post to get the history and to learn about the different versions.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/modded-google-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552
I'd say start with the 3.8 (linked in post above, without any letter after it) version but 1.4-version will probably be fine as well.
Note to others downloading the file: The Android Download-app doesn't open APKs, you need to install a file manager app to open it.
So next question, which are the recommended settings in the app? In the 3.8 version there are tons of values you can select. HDR+ isn't enabled per default.
I tried on Nokia8 and I think no one notice that it has small color dots and line in every photo that process HDR at the bottom of picture. I tried every setting and still can't figure out how to remove. It's also appear in skip24ftlb's photo.
Seems ok the shots come out slightly better than nokia stock but the bottom of the photo has these blue and red bars (looks like some graph lines) on every photo that you point at a bright source of light and reduce the brightness on screen to absolute minimum. Happened on all photos that I took of the sunrise with heaps of bright orange clouds.
It stickout more when the bottom half of the photo is darker down the bottom.
Cheers

I tested with 1.4, 1.5, 3.7, 3.8, 4.0 and all of it happens. So i think there are no other options to avoid this.
Can someone share some pictures?
There are a lot of versions of GCam modded.
On HTC U11 topic, there's a large thread where many users are debating which is the best.
Can someone take a look how does it gets on Nokia 8?
Mine still not here. Maybe on the end of the month.
