Not Really an in-depth tutorial. Op would be better off reading Spyder's thread (links are outdated but tackles the not recogized simlock issue). Op can unlock the bl. The issue is the possibility of losing signal when he does. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17378137

I have a problem or you would not be able to unlock Bootlader again because something went wrong, as I wrote you checked the S1 tool and should be small letter ra is not as big R is large or Bootlader not properly złamany.Teraz I can only remain servicing 4SEtool and nothing more as he could, another program I would not bother your head and no one android forum does not have 4SEtool so I would ask you for help again with this unlocking the BL and I would be grateful to know also that you have your job with the site but I would ask with the answer that any

Not being a douche or anything but it does clearly say everywhere that you WILL get a HARD BRICK if you try to unlock your bootloader if your manufacturing date is 11w30 or over.

I CLEARLY told you by PM: "DO NOT TRY"
Additionally there's also the hard brick warning sticky over in the X8 General section.
If you decide to disregard each and every warning that has been given to you - your dismay, not mine.
As posted for quite some times now: There's no way by which ANYONE of us can help you now. The phone is dead and beyond any repair possibilities you can try at home. It seems you already found out that the last option is to send the phone off to SE for repair.
I just wouldn't recommend telling them outright what you did - otherwise the response could turn out to be: "Oh, so you tried to unlock the boot loader? Why thank you for telling us, because hacking your phone voids your warranty. Thank you very much for choosing Sony Ericsson and we hope you continue to enjoy our products."
Best shot would be to tell them it suddenly didn't work anymore.
Oh, and once you get the repaired phone back...
DO NOT TRY TO UNLOCK THAT DAMN BOOT LOADER AGAIN!
The warning clearly doesn't exists to run a prank on y'all ... the warning is clearly there to prevent such situations (and at least with the X8 the critical manufacturing date code IS 11W29 - no matter what other "OMFG mah unlocked mah 11W40 no probs kthxbye" post).

Just put it in trash...i don't think they will replace it with a new one or repair moneyfree so you will need to pay. I think you should buy a new one from ebay or another site they have them in pretty low price...i hope your battery code this time will be under -29

I do have the answer to this:
The new (2011/2012) SE phones (or just new xperia x8's) have a security hole. They have a revamped chipset configuration. This basically means that attempting to unlock your bootloader will end up in a hard brick, and there is no way to revive the phone yourself
I was lucky cuz my date is 10w46

Its a brick man, will they ever find out?
Many people have done this, bricked their x8's and told SE that the phone suddenly went BOOM etc
Today i used Wotanserver to unlock X8. date 11w48.
first did flashing using paid service. then unlock bootloader. but final result was hard brick. i am really pissed off.
I dont know what went wrong.
this is third time having hard brick when trying to unlock bootloader.
hope the repair shop can unbrick by jtag.
I used the paid method too to unlock bootloader and i got it unlocked no problem...:laugh:.I got a lot of help by alejandrissimo..:highfive:. i think he may help u in unbricking....ur x8.... :fingers-crossed:

Wotan asked me for Log files. no reply till now. wasted 10 euros. now i have to do JTAG again.
if they refund, i can try again. may this time format my pc install all drivers fresh.

Sim unlocking is not something that XDA developers deal with as in some countries it is illegal.

I found, in my town, in Croatia same thing (they order lock code online) - order number online and that's the best solution.
But first, check is your phone "unlockable".

Then you can unlock it without any problems....
You have device like me - 5 chance to unlock
After unlocking my device is working without any probs, like it should.

Being an ex at&t CSR agent, I was told my tech reps that once you use all unlock attempts and fail then you're screwed big time. Only way is to call sony CS.

That won't unlock it to work on another network that only removes bloatware. You need something called a pac code from the network it is currently on

I didnt tried any custom rom
I flashed only stock based ones THEY ARE GREAT AND THE ONE I USE IS FAST! But not "BLAZING fast" as you say

Surely flashing any of the stock based ROMs that the guys have recommended is better than having a phone thats not working as well as it should.. and from my understanding if bootloader un-lock is not allowed then you can not unlock it...

Just don't forget to back up your TA partition first!
You probably don't know what it is, so search for that first, before even attempting to unlock your bootloader.

And I know the importance of TA had done research before unlocking my phones bl

Configuration...
Rooting status...Bootloader unlock allowed...
If it says NO .. then you are unable to unlock it..
If yes then you`re good to go...but please do plenty of research before you attempt to unlock...could save you a lot of hassle ..

it is upto YOU whether you unlock the boot loader and put on a custom 4.4 rom, nobody can give you the answer

There's a method that's gonna save a lot of money for unlocking bootloader by providing a backup for proinfo partition using SP flash tool along with your bootloader unlock code!
Now this is the only way to unlock the bootloader for this phone for free !!
you will save alot of people from changing their phone just to get root!

Listen here, if we already have bootloader unlock code why would we need to give to you lol I have and many have already unlocked there bootloader. Your just trying to scam people out of there money and hopefully no-one falls for this.

That phone shipped with Android Lollipop and has no ROMs that I found newer than Android Nougat. The information you are excited about isn't likely to be applicable to the M20P.
Has anyone tried this on the mate 20 Pro then?

Update: SP flash tool is for MTK. I can't find software for our HiSilicon Kirin 980. We're hopeless.
