I tried a new kernel, but forgot to put the flash file on the internal card first. Now my phone wont boot as there is no OS on my phone. I can't mount the USB as it keep saying something about can only mount usb in idle mode. And I cant seem to mount USB in recovery mode either. MTP keep failing in windows.
Only way is somehow to transfer that damn zip file by Odin or some other ways
Any help?

Have you tried to plug the cable to a different USB port? Sometimes it resolves the issue as it needs to install new drivers on that port.
No Mount USB

Yea, So working on something very close.
I formated my phone, and then wiped all the data on it after. My problem is I wiped the ROM that I was using at the time (otherwise I would boot back up and replace my deleted ROM using Android file transfer). I've also deleted the new ROM (and everything else) on the internal SD card that I was going to switch to. How can I force a ROM back onto my SD card? I can't boot back into the phone save for Recovery, and dowload screens so I can't enable the phone to "act as a usb device"
I have CWR 6.0.1, and can only boot into that program, and the Samsung Download screen.
I tried to go to mounts but only see system, cache and data. I can mount and unmount those (but they don't change anything. I also have a /sdcard option to mount, but i can't do anything with it, it doesn't switch back and forth between mount and unmount like the others do. I don't see a Mount USB option like you were talking about above.
I am using a VZW GNex (toro)
Macbook running snow lepord.
Go to samfirmware and dowload the 2.3.6 rom for the i9000 anf flash it with odin next install cwm recovery and its done

Is the operating system working normally? If yes, you can use option "connect as media storage" as it isn't enabled by default
tetakpatalked from 1+One
when i go into recovery mode and select mounts and storage menu then i select mount /sd-ex it show error mounting sd-ext ..................... i just want to move my files that are located in internal storage to my pc..... is there any way to do that
Hi azar
Did you tried to transfer using ADB . in your case if you have a custom recovery installed its possible
google this "transfer file using adb from recovery mode"
Hope this helps..
found the solution with recovery mode :
in windows hardware manager : delete adb I9100
in recovery mode press "unmount" : this will reload the phone driver and give full access to internal memory and sdcard on windows explorer
in your windows manager you should now see a warning device called GT-I9100
this worked after I reinstalled drivers (not from kies)
This problems happens because windows detects a new device and downloads this "adb driver" ONLY in recovery mode. So this is not the samsung driver.
hi guys i hope someone can help
somehow my sdcard has become unmounted
i have s-off with revone done with cmd and adb
i have set cid to 11111....
i have updated firmware to 2.17 and 2.14
all was working well until i did factory reset
now i cant access internal storage. camera doesnt work. wifi doesnt work
what do i need to do?

i have not flashed a rom yet and the stock rom works fine i just cant access sdcard
do i need to flash a rom?
which one? a stock one or a custom one?
stock one
okay
i cant access the sd card to copy a rom to
on the laptop the phone comes up like normal. click on it internal storage comes up like normal. but inside the internal storage folder has a folder called storage. inside that is emulated. inside that is legacy. inside that is the normal file structure.
windows errors when trying to copy files anywhere inside the internal storage folder
when in the camera app on the phone it shows a black image and click on the gallery icon it says no sd card
its like the "sdcard" is unmounted. how do i mount it? ive tried CW recovery and TWRP
try sideloading the ROM, there should be an option for adb sideload and use the command adb sideload romName.zip
is there an adb command to mount sdcard?

there should be in one of the recovery menus
This is exactly what has happened to my phone, and there seems to be more thread cropping up about this.
I can see in TWRP recovery there is an SDCard but cant do anything with it. I can flash a rom via sideload (hardly flashes, my lack of understanding) and from OTG USB in Recovery but there will be no installed rom once done, or at least it wont boot.
Same thing in CWM except that recovery can not see the SDCard so no mounting.
Hi guys!
Here's my situation:
- P990, tonyp's PA 2.6 v.13, old bootloader, Kowalski kernel exp. version 12x
- Phone started boot looping (no obvious cause)
- Tried deleting cache. Didn't help.
- Tried flashing the same ROM from external SD. Didn't help.
- Tried restoring working backup (boot and system only, not complete restore) from CWM. Didn't help.
So then I guess I have to do a complete factory reset, but that means I'll lose everything on my internal SD card, right? I want to make a copy first so that I can keep my files. My nandroid backups are only 2.x GB, so I guess they don't include everything on the internal SD card.
I tried to connect the phone to my laptop, but nothing happened, so I deleted/reinstalled drivers from the LG website. That didn't work, but then I found this post which got me a little further. It said the installation was successful, but when I was in CWM, the disks (int. and ext. SD) wasn't being recognized. When I rebooted recovery (from CWM) or just rebooted the device, the computer recognized the discs and started installing four drivers, but as the phone either gets into CWM or just boot loops, it seems like Windows isn't able to finalize the installation of the drivers. This results in the SD cards not being functional in Windows. I can't even see disk labels or storage used/available.
Does someone have an idea of how I might be able to access the internal SD from Windows? Either by fixing the driver issue, or some other method?
I guess I have to fix this USB issue to be able to try to use adb pull to get all the stuff off the internal memory as well, right? Or is the connection between phone and computer not required to be "complete" to be able to do that? I do not remember for sure, but I believe I had turned on USB debugging before all this mess started. However, I have never used adb before.
I'm massively thankful for any help!

I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.1.
Yes, I tried wiping dalvik cache as well, but that didn't fix it either.
Are there some other ways of getting out of the bootloop? I don't mind flashing stock rom or whatever else, as long as I can recover my internal SD.

Download AIO-toolkit from the developement forum. Install itt, and install nvflash drivers with it.
At the main screen select option 2, and then select option 2 again. Follow teh instructions on the screen, and select TWRP 2.5.0.0 to be installed, or cwm 5.0.2.8, both have working mass storage.
(6.0.3.1 has broken massstorage and adb interface. I think you installed cwm 6.0.3.1 through rom manager, if it that true you are on old bootloader.)

Aha, that explains it!
I installed CWM 5.0.2.8 and I got a little further than before. When I mount USB storage in CWM, my external SD card shows up on my computer, but not my internal SD card. What can be the reason for this? Could the card be corrupted, or are there other ways of getting the internal SD to appear?
I tried mounting everything I could mount from the Mounts and storage menu in CWM, but the external SD was still the only thing that showed up on my laptop.
Thank you so much for helping with this!

Do a factory reset with a working cwm. You will lose all your installed apps and their data, but it will keep data on internal sdcard. After the factory reset you can boot up into andorid

YES! I thought factory reset would delete the internal SD, so I didn't even consider that, but it worked like a charm! Thank you so much for caring and helping! You just made my week! :highfive:
As of now, I am stuck in TWRP. I accidentally formatted EVERYTHING on the phone. so the ROM I wanted to flash is gone. On other phones I had it would be as simple as plugging it back into the computer and using ADB side load. but for some reason, once i formatted everything adb wont recognize the phone. And TWRP wont mount SB storage. I dont have an exSD (which i know would fix my issues right now) so I need to figure out how to transfer files while in TWRP or even get my computer to ADB sideload the ROM for me!
This is the first time I've done this so I have NO idea how to fix it . I was just flashing a new rom
when I accidently checked off system in WIPE. Everything is gone obviously. Can someone please tell me what to do from here? I have no access to a computer till later today. Any help is appreciated thank you!
Update: internal storage is also deleted. The phone has nothing. No OS what so ever.
What do i do?
Thanks for any help
You deleted system or internal storage? If just system then reflash the rom. The zip should still be on your phone
your sdcard contents are still there, since sdcard "lives" in /data/media NOT in /system
proceed to flash whatever ROM+gapps you were going to install, wiping system is actually one of the steps many people do when doing a clean install
if internal storage is deleted you have 2 options
1. copy ROM and gaps on a USB flash drive , use a OTG cable to connect them, reboot into recovery , mount USB-OTG, you can install whatever zips you have on the flash drive
2. push the files to the sdcard from your computer using ADB push

TWRP Supports MTP connections. Plug the phone in via USB then go into "Mounts" and "enable MTP". Then just drag and drop the files into internal storage
