Other than the Cyanogenmod version, does anyone have a KitKat ROM for Nook HD? I tried the CM 11 version but it had very flaky WiFi reception--only found one AP and when disconnected it wouldn't find that AP again, even. Going back to CM 10.1.3, all local APs turned up in a WiFi scan.

There is an awesome KitKat ROM (also CyanogenMod, but unofficial) out there.
I have been using that one for months. Official CM11 has to many bugs.
You will need the latest CWM to flash it.
Here is the link to the latest version of the ROM: http://goo.im/devs/succulent/hummingbird/cyanogenmod/internal/cm_hummingbird_11.0_16JAN2014_HD.zip

For CM11 it needs to be v6045 or newer. You can get them on the CM11 threads.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hello all thank you for you time. I'm running cm10.1 unofficial nightly build 05.22.13 on my touchpad with the latest adobe flash apk and Firefox app from Googleplay.
The issue that I'm having is my display would go to sleep as configure per my display setting while I'm streaming flash content at full screen. Not sure why this is happening and not sure if this is just my device. I didn't have this issue with cm9. Only notice this with cm10 and now 10.1. Theodd thing is that this issue is also happening with my nook color and nexus 7 with cm10.1
My current work around is setting display to time out 30 mins and touch the display every now and then.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks again
I did a quick search and found this app for you. I haven't tried it, but its worth a try.

Thank you. I went back to cm9 for stability but will keep this app in the back pocket . I was just curious to know if I was the only one experiencing this flash problem or its the same for everyone else. If its just me I wonder wat I did wrong with the install

Flash has never worked well on 4.1+ ROMs on the Touchpad in my experience. Flash isn't supported on 4.1+ but on other devices its still smooth so its a Touchpad Android issue not a Flash issue.
If you want Flash stay with CM9. I went back to CM9 after being on CM10 a while because I wanted stable Flash and couldn't really think of any new CM10 features that I needed.

First and foremost thank you for your input. It is true that flash is no longer supported on 4.1 + but it can and should be stable once installed. One example I can provide is with my nexus seven. With stock rom and latest flash APk installed it runs Smoth no problem but when it is rooted and custom rom installed display issue occurs. There must be some config in the rom where display would remain awake when certain apps are running at full screen. Also its hard to see that its a touch pad issue because this is happening to other devices that I've installed custom 4.1+ rom. I'm currently back with cm9. For stability until cm 10.1 is more stable will switch.

Flash runs smooth on my Droid3 with CM10.1 even though the rom is far from stable. Also runs well on the Razr with stock 4.1.2 update. Its just on the Touchpad that 4.1+ have issues with flash in my experience.

How could I find info related to each CM10.2 nightly build for Nook HD+?
I would like to know what change(s) are in each build so that I could either update it or just skip it.

IF you have CM10.x already installed, just go into settings -- about tablet -- cyanogenmod updates
Then click on the available update for a changelog.
This will list both cm10.1 and 10.2 nightlies and the changelogs!

If you're running a nightly earlier than 8-16 for 10.2, you should update immediately to avoid getting bitten by a likely firmware bricking bug.

verygreen says he thinks he has a workaround for the firmware bug in the Samsung emmc. Luckely, I have the SEM32G (sandisk) emmc which doesn't seem to be affected. It seemed to be a bit snappier running a ROM with TRIM activated.

Mine's affected by the emmc bricking bug, and I've used LagFix three or four times on CM10.1 without problems. Guess I can consider myself lucky.

CM just announced one update to the CM 10.1 branch of code. I tried posting this in the other CM 10.1 thread, but I cannot due to my newbiness. Anyway, does anybody know if 10.1.3 RC1 will get ported to the Nook HD Ovation? Can somebody ask everygreen the awesome guy who has been doing all this stuff? I really havent made the switch to 10.2 and probably wont for quite a while. I currently run 10.1 the last one from 8/13. I wonder of 10.1.3RC has anybody better. Oh well. I hope this makes sense.

I missed the boat on 10.1.3RC1, but RC2 and eventually 10.1.3 stable should be made for our devices too.
Where should we watch for updates about when this is available? Seems all of the chatter over in the dev forum is only about CM10.2.

Would installing this new 10.1 RC from the updated in CM be wise?
Still very new to this. Just got CM put on my Nook this weekend and would hate to have to start fresh again.
I would suggest installing any RC version. They are supposed to be pretty stable and have bug fixes that you'll want (not to say that they won't have bugs of their own).

I think he's asking about updating from the CM menu. I received a notification today that RC 2 was available, will I lose all my apps and data if I update from there?

Thanks for the help!
I updated it with the internal CM updated but it kept hanging on boot and restarting so I just went ahead and did a manual install.
My Nook runs much smoother now! Hopefully it won't keep rebooting and hanging on boot as much as before.
Hi All
I updated my Nook HD+ to CM 10.2.1 from the update option in CM 10.1.3. However the play store doesnt seem to work now, it says no connection and retry every single time I open it.
Do you guys have the same problem? what is the fix please?
(I have done some searches and seems like i need to update the gapps as well, is it correct? and so which version of gapps I need? and where to download please?)
Many thanks
Victor

I've got an HD+ that has been sitting, not being used for at least 6 months...finally found the charger and fired it up today. I'd like to get the best recommended build installed on it for performance (including dealing with TRIM issues on the EMMC), etc. Currently I'm running:
10.1.3-ovation
Kernel: 3.0.31-green+
[email protected] #1
Mon Sep 23 2013
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm normally fine handling the install once I get there but there's always so many builds to choose from LOL!
Thanks!

That is exactly the build I use. I have seen no need to upgrade to anything newer. It is stable and does everything I want it to do. And you can be in control of trim by getting the app Lagfree from the Play Store.

Any suggestions on how to get the best performance? Still feels rather laggy to me...recommendations on launchers etc.?
SNAPSHOT M8 or M11
It is requested to flash snapshot m8 or m11. Other builds are having so many strange problems. M9 and M19 has problem of being slow and sluggish after 5 min usage and wont wake up after sleep.

FWIW, I am running CM11 snapshot M11 (& Nova Launcher) on my HD+ and it works pretty well for my use of the tablet (email/web surfing/video streaming (hulu/netflix)).
If you plan to upgrade from CM10 to CM11, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-tablet/general/how-to-updating-hd-hd-internal-emmc-to-t2863171 for info/pointers.
Going back to 10.1.3 from CM11. I seem to remember there's something i need to do besides a complete wipe, but I don't remember what it is.
Is there something else?

TWRP versions older than v2.6.3.0, CWM versions older than v6.0.4.5.
Great. Thank you
I had been running CM 10.1 SD hybrid install from bokbokan and recently updated to his SD CM11 install.
I enjoyed it but decided to switch to an emmc build (and try to find one on which I could get tabletui back!) so I started cleaning up my stock rom so I could back it up and then place stock on SD using verygreen's files.
However, I discovered some tweaks (and an unknown functionality of Apex launcher for the home button) for rooted stock that made me happier with my setup on stock than I have been in a while.
You might want to give stock a chance again. I'm going to make a backup of my setup and then see if I can get any Xposed modules working. If some of my favorite modules work, then I'll be very happy indeed.

Been Googling this till it crosseyed. Where can I find a TWRP recovery older than 2.6.3? Or is rooted stock w/ Apex or Nova really the happiest compromise?

Why do you want TWRP older than 2.6.3? If it is so you can install an older ROM or zip, just go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make the bootable CWM per item 1a.

Because I wanted to downgrade from CM11 to 10.1.3 and I prefer TWRP over CWM. I may still have that SD from when I first rooted my HD+.
