My phone is s-off with unlocked bootloader. I was going to trade so I was in the process of restoring to stock, when my potential trader changed his mind. I relocked the bootloader. But am still s-off with custom recovery. Can I still flash roms with a locked bootloader, or do I have to unlock it again?

you can still flash roms, if you have your original code_bin you can reuse it, but it will wipe the phone when you unlock again

Hi,
I've a UK HTC One with unlocked bootloader, root enabled and custom recovery.
Is it there a package to flash on the actual firmware to update to the .12 version, without relocking bootloader (and so wiping all my content)?
Thank you!
yes there is

Thank you,
but I wanted to flash the whole firmware, and not only the radio.
Then flash a custom ROM... They are all on the .13 base.

What if I don't want a custom firmware, but I just want to keep the stock firmware (with root permission and custom recovery)? Thank you very much
I'd be interested in this too as I foolishly unlocked mine and realised I don't even need it unlocked at all and just want stock with updates lol
relock will not wipe your data
relock and then unlock will !!
Is it possible to make the status " LOCKED" in stead of " RELOCKED" in case i want to send it back for warranty ?
Nope, need S-off for it to say locked again. Should not matter in Europe though for warranty.

I have an (branded At&T) GSM unlocked HTC One with bootloader unlocked. I didnt use lost the function of calc or sound recorder when unlocking that i have read. My question is will i still be able to receive OTA updates? and is there a very simple way to go back to stock or get the google play edition?
No OTA when bootloader is unlocked. To relock you need to be completely stock. To relock use all in one toolkit.. it's noobproof! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942

Why would you want ota updates when you have an unlocked bootloader?

I am completely stock except for the unlocked bootloader and it being GSM unlocked. So if i just relock the bootloader I will get the OTA updates? or do i need to flash a stock RUU?
I dont want to flash the device if i dont have to. I am afraid of bricking the device or messing something up. I rather have the updates be pushed to my phone via OTA either through HTC or ATT.
Well.I just got a used.Sony z
I.rooted. Via.one click. And installed twrp with the apk.
My question is can we flash roms without no issues even with a lock bootloader on this device seeing as I opted out to flash recovery with the locked bootloader and if that's not the case how do I find out if my bootloader is unlockable version

If you are locked, you just need to flash roms flashable zips via recovery. Look for "LB", which stands for Locked Bootloader, threads under the Development section, and you'll find compatible software with your unlocked device.
If your device is from a carrier, chances are you are locked with no way to unlock. If your device number is C6606, you are not able to unlock, no matter what.

If your bootloader is locked and you can't unlock it you can still flash roms but only those bases on stock. The problem with the locked bootloader is that you can't install a kernel that isn't signed by Sony. So no CyanogenMod and derivatives.

Since when are HTC Devices able to install OTAs while you have an Unlocked Bootloader?

I think as long as you have a Stock recovery you can flash an OTA regardless of bootloader or S-On/Off status.

How can i relock the bootloader (i am running stock rom now) and get the stock recovery back.
Im thinking about selling the atrix and i wouldnt like the buyer to see the 'unlocked' bootloader thing
Once unlocked, you cannot relock the bootloader.

Not sure if will lock it. But is a good idea as it will be the only solution
Unlocking the bootloader will blow the efuses in the phone. Once these efuses have been blown, it cannot be reversed.
Well i did it for the sakes of it just to learn before i read it. You can relock the bootloader yes. But the permanent battery will record it as relocked.
You can read about this new feature from motorola for rooting but same method for bootloader. http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ndwich-builds-for-its-phones-purpose-unknown/
To relock it do it from fastboot and type "fastboot oem lock" should re-lock the bootloader.
