help is needed asap :( - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello everyone
today i used my mobile under water after i was sure that all the flaps are closed
anyway the water got into the charging flap and the sticker is red now also i got some water on the camera lines both the back and the front i tried to dry it with hair dryer but no use also the light sensor is not working anymore
help please :crying:
sony z and the water wasn't deep but it was little cold

Turn it off straight away, then put it in a sealed bag with some dry rice with all the flaps open for at least a week.
Do not turn it on again or connect it to power or USB until that has been done.
If you're lucky, this will dry the phone out and you won't have damaged anything.

Probably it wont work anymore. Better if you bring it to service center.

i heard that puting phone in brass helps to remove water/moisture. give it a try.
Power it off and put it in a bag of rice. Wait a few days and power it back on.
There's a very slim chance that the short circuit damage down by the water isn't permanent.

Thanks guys i will give it a try

Even better than rice a air tight box with dehumidifier box inside (the plastic boxes they sell in the hardware stores, the ones with the granules absorbing the moisture) . Put all bits out and leave it for day or two.
Do not dry with hair drier!! Or leave in the sun - might do more harm than good.

Thanks i will go to hardware shop and ask for those by the way i am using my phone and screen moisture is getting off day by day but camera and vibrators are not working so i am waiting for moisture to get off so if camera and vibrator works fine otherwise i can go to service centre and ask them for the warranty bcz if i go now they will say warranty is void bcz of water..
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
Indeed waranty is void by water damage and there is always ways to find out if that's the case for a technician who is not half asleep.
Luckily though many times they only have a quick look and write the phone off and give you w new one as long as there are no visible damage on the outside.

Completely dry it first before powering it on or use it. Short circuit will destroy that phone.

I went to service centre guy was very kind he covered motherboard under warranty, but told me to pay for display bcz water cannot be cleaned from it, so he cannot cover it under warranty.
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
Well it is something at least. How much did the display change cost if its not a secret?
That's the only reason I was considering the Motorola Defy.
Oh well at least our OB has nice display
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA App
Well they are costing me 1700 rupees thats is something near 35.6$ for display.

Did you let it dry out either in in a bag with some rice or with desiccant? Works quite well.
Otherwise, I have put the oven on low and put it in there (on something) or in a dehydrator. Just be sure to remove the battery first.
If there's any moisture still in it, it likely is shorting it out.
Are the water stickers red? You could always warranty it if not.

Have it in rice now hopefully works water indicator is red thanks for the help

Just thought i would share a really hopefull story... my sister had a samsung jack windows mobile phone... she went swimming for 10 min before she realized it was in her pocket... hadnt taken it apart or turned it off or anything... got home and everything minus two keyboard buttons was functional... you could see water sloshing back and forth in the screen and it was fine... finally put it in rice and it dried out and still worked fine... another friend uses it now.... haha... there is still hope.. haha

Samsung Galaxy ace wet

So I missplaced my ace, and found it in a small pool of water ringing... First thing, got the battery out, wiped it, unscrew it, luckly no waterinside, just on the charging port, wiped the water, left it for a day, then tried it, every thing working, but not charging, the charger port was opened so water entered the port, now i tried to wipe the port with parfume and it charges, but some times doesn't charge, should i wipe with more parfume? or wait afther the holidays to find a working service gsm? Can parfume harm it? I used it for the alcohool to clean it...
I'm waiting for your answers, thank you who ever want's to help.
Now it works fine, it charges every time i plug it it, is the problem solved, or should i go with it at the gsm services?
It takes some time for water to evaporate completly. It is very likely that your problem is already solved
put in rice ... it sucks the moisture

My Nexus 4 is a boss

I dropped my N4 in a toilet.
A toilet. With water.
I was able to get a bottle of rice and stick it in there for a day, but even so. It was fully submerged in water. And it works perfectly fine.

Bad news is, that will probably trigger corrosion so your phone may not survive for much longer.
Cool story bro!

Use 100% alcohol to clean it inside, it will remove water leftovers and dissapear so you wont get corrosion and device failure in future.

Disassemble it all the way! Clean it with alcohol where necessary, make sure its dry everywhere and put it back together... . if u choose not to do this I'll guarantee u in a few weeks , (maybe months) u get all sort of strange problems... Think of reboots, failing camera , flickering screen , not working sound etc etc
a pigeon delivered this message.... ** your welcome **
Hmmm...you drop your phone in the toilet then suddenly it works? Doesn't make sense. I presume you have dissect the phone, wash it and let air dry and then its all working now?

Even if there wasn't, you can bet it was riddled with bacteria. And now he's sticking that thing to his face and ear.

I would assume it feel right after he flushed it, but still. Haha still gross though. I'll throw it in the bin straight up.

The toilet was empty, calm down y'all. I disinfected the outside of the phone, and the rice seems to have done its job. If the rice completely dried out the phone, why would there be corrosion?

If u found it in the woods wet then chances are it's fried already since it was wet for along time and I'm sure more than water went in damaging the circuits.
