Alright,
I've spent the last couple hours looking for the answer to this problem and haven't had much luck.
I've tried a couple different bluetooth headsets with my Moto X (completely stock), and I can get the multipurpose button to launch Touchless Control without issue. Unfortunately it seems to keep wanting to use the X's microphone rather than the headsets. Voice Search will use the headset mic correctly, so it seems to be something with Touchless Control specifically.
Is this even possible? Am I missing an obvious setting?
I think its intentional and I am glad it works this way. In my car I can grab the phone and use touchless control without interacting with a Bluetooth system that is designed to place calls.
I don't think a bluetooth mic can be used with touchless control as it would always have to be listening and connected via the bt radio to the Moto X. This would cause more battery drain to the headset and the Moto X as it would always be in the same mode as if you were in a phone call instead of in standby.

I'm not too concerned about the "Ok, Google Now" functionality. The multi-function button will launch Touchless Controls without a problem, it just doesn't use the headset mic at that point.
The always-listening functionality of the phone keeps working regardless of bluetooth, I'd just like to have the headset option as well since I often have the phone in my pocket.
I have a Motorola bluethoot and definitely touch less control doesn't work trough him.

I have no problem getting Touchless controls to use my bluetooth mic, I can have my phone charging in the bedroom and be outside and using the feature. Particularly fond of the new "What's Up" feature.

Sony MW600,
I have a UClear hbc200 that I use on my motorcycle, and I can get Touchless Control to launch with a button press. This wasn't always the case. Earlier versions of Touchless Control were definitely NOT listening to the BT mic, but the phone's mic instead.
The problem I'm currently having is when Assist reads texts messages or Google Now asks a follow up question, the mic doesn't turn back on. I'm essentially limited to commands that only take one step...
no issues here with the latest jawbone era. tc works thru bt. but i do have to touch my bt.
I have the Motorola HX550 and the call button activates touchless control AND I am able to speak thru the bluetooth mic to ask commands.
(but this didn't work with my original jawbone)

I bought one of those little adapters on ebay, such as the one you can see here: Link
Couple of things:
- Music - it now sounds brilliant through my personal headphones - the ones that come in the box with the diamond are indeed complete rubbish. But that was fairly obvious anyway. I'm impressed with the quality of the diamond now.
- Taking calls. Now we have a BIG PROBLEM. When a call comes through, the audio is routed through to my headphones as you would expect. But the problem is that the diamond must think there is a microphone attached as well, as noone can hear me speak until I pull the headphones out of the diamond and it's internal mic kicks in!! Then when the call is ended the music starts blasting out of the speaker of the diamond while I'm madly trying to plug the headphones back in, amidst getting all sorts of annoyed looks from people next to me on the tram that WERE sleeping until I woke them up..... Woops
Does anybody know a workaround for this? How can I make the diamond think there is NO microphone plugged in when I'm using the headphones?? Will I have to short some pins on the connector...? Anyone have the pin layout for the 11 pin HTC connector? Or is there an easier way.... Help from the experienced is appreciated. Cheers.
OK so here are the pinouts:

So it would seem that 'disabling' pins 7 and 12 on the adapter might do the trick.... Or maybe they already are disabled on some of the adapters out there..
It's going to be hard to do on such a small thing... Does anyone know a way to trick the OS or disable it in the registry somehow??

Have you try this adpater to listen to radio without the headphone. By plugging in this and set the radio to speaker phone.
what about that ??
you can plug any 3.5 headphones you want, it works for the fm radio, and you have a mic so you can talk when receiving a call without having to do the unplug replug acrobatic move you used to ....

Hm... I plugged in mine (I use the RC e100), and somehow all other headphones (also high quality one) I have are all worse then the one within the box =( very annoying, as the the htc headphones are far to big and ugly =(
Also the whole audio stuff is poor on the diamond - I read s.th. of an audio booster bug, but no way to cure it =(
What have you done to have such a good qualtity?
Thanks for all of your replies.
I ended up going with the RC E100 as you suggested and some other people here seem to think they work well. Well, they definitely do!
I've plugged my Sony's into them and they sound awesome. Really impressed with the audio quality now. Just have to figure out where to hide all the cable!! 2 metres + hiding inside my jacket! Might have to get the scissors and soldering iron out and re-work it...
The only problem is that the supplied driver with the RCE100 does not install on the diamond, or maybe its a problem that I'm using Vista with Windows Mobile Device Centre instead of Windows XP with Activesync. I will try and install the CAB file manually.
The Play/FF/RW on the headset only controls the built-in audio player in TouchFLO 3D, need to figure out how to make it work with Core Player.... And to answer you question Basthet, it sounds much better with Core Player, no audio booster bug, it has built in pre-amp and also equalizer and you can make your music sound very very nice with it. Highly recommended. It does not cure the little skip you hear in audio tracks; it is now clear this is an Operating System/Hardware issue.
I know that acrobatic move that you speak of, and it made me laugh to see that I'm not the only one running into that problem. Happened to me while official exams were being held in the classroom nearby, nearly got me expelled.
I am trying to use a bluetooth headset having paired the gear. It looks impossible: the gear forces to have connected the audio in calls that disconnect the headset I want to use.
is there any way to have both devices running at the same time but use only as headset the normal device and not the audio in the gear?
I am able to pair both the gear and bluetooth headset with the note 3. I'll try my S4 to confirm.
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
The S4 is able to pair both at the same time as well. Initially I had to unpair the gear and then pair the headset, then repair the gear.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
how to do
I see, you connect gear as device for audio call and the bluetooth as media.
I am doing the same but finally, having both devices connected at the same time, how to redirect the audio of the call to the bluetooth...
Money back!
Finally I confirm it cant work with a normal bluetooth headset. This is fundamental for me.
I am using with n5100 and n7000. Maybe is a bluetooth version problem.
It is obvious than gear screen quality is amazing. But for the rest including notifications communications and so on smartwatch 2 from sony is centurys ahead. Im my case the camera is not important...

Could you explain with facts why is Samsung technically more advanced? I own an mw150 for a long time and it works like a charm. Now is time to change due the screen is broken.
Due some problems with Samsung mktg telling you lies about certain products, this time I will assure 100% on present capabilities each device. Except the ugly aspect and the screen bad quality, rest of the funcionality I claim are included and working in Sony. Again I am not interested in the camera.

I have found that the watch, the phone, and the headset all ring. When I answer with the phone the audio goes there, when I answer with the watch the audio goes there, when you answer with the headset (which is what I do) the audio goes there. When you have the N3 connected to your car using multipoint (more than one BT device) the car takes priority over the Gear. My N3 BT connection to my car controls audio playback, phone calls (initiated and received) using the car's controls, and S Voice on the N3 will pause audio to send text messages et.al. which couldn't be done when using A2DP previously. The only issue I've found with the Gear as it applies to BT is if the phone's got its mic open (EG: S Voice "listening") the Gear will display an error "microphone in use, try again." Other than that it's pretty much flawless BT wise.
I just got this tablet but it is having a problem with the bluetooth. It connects with all of my controllers (Moga pocket, ouYa, and nyko play pad. It does not lose connection. But the controllers no longer react after 9 seconds.
Did you happen to find a fix for the bluetooth issue? I have the same problem using a microsoft bluetooth mouse. I even checked the demo unit at best buy and it did the same thing. Still think I am going to keep the tablet, but I do like to use a mouse when I have it on my desk at work. It just seems to lock up after 10 to 60 seconds but stays connected. If I disconnect it and reattach it works for another 10 seconds.

Silly idea here, go into the power saving app and turn the smart saver stuff completely off and try the bluetooth devices again... I do not use bluetooth on my tablet yet, but do have an ouya controller so I can try it later today...
Good idea, but unfortunately no luck. Turned power saving off and it still freezes. I will y around some more and see if I can find any other settings that may help.
I didn't get a chance to try the ouya controller with my ME572C last night. It is unfortunate that the power savings change didn't do the trick. I was assuming that the power saving setting was turning off bluetooth to conserve power and that is why the bluetooth was stopping...
i heard in an other forum that the wifi and bluethoot are in the same chip and that the can jam each other, I also couldn't fix the problem with my controller , i hope there is coming a solution
I played around a bit and if I restart my tablet with Bluetooth connected, then i use my mouse and it freezes. I can go into my menu/apps settings and see the bluetooth share app running. (Sometimes even with bluetooth on and my mouse connected the bluetooth share app wont show up in settings ) Then I disable the a2dp service in the bluetooth share app and my mouse instantly unfreezes and works fine for a lot longer, then the service seems to restart itself again and it freezes. Now trying to figure out a way to keep the a2dp service disabled. But cant disable the app as it is needed, but just need to disable a2dp service. Anyways will poke around some more today. If anyone knows how to disable just a service in an app please let me know.
I found a fix for it. I discovered with my speedlink myon gamepad that it doesnt work when i have a fully charged controller. Try to fully charge it. Then when you go to sleep let it on in connection mode when the it flashes fast. And try the next morning ito connect it. It workw fine now by me and i dont charge it more than 30 minutes when i want to play with it
My ouya controller had some disconnection issues at first but I was struggling with the configuration in the emulator I was trying to run. It appears to work fine now. Although my testing is not all that thorough.

There are many apps that you can try, but two apps come to my mind when speaking of disabling services : "disable service" and "my android tools". An alternative could be using "lucky patcher" app which can reassemble apks with removed components if you know which one to remove :
Disable service :

Lucky patcher :
Mmmmh don't know what I've done (actually I disabled A2dp service) but my bluetooth seems to be ko now and I can't get it to work by reversing my actions... ?
Disabling services didn't work for me, but the new lollipop update has fixed it. So far anyways, been using the mouse for 10 min with no issues. Happy so far.

share the device model number and software version please.
So the volume issue doesn't go away even if you disconnect/forget and reconnect?
Have you tried to cache clear or network reset the device?
If the above doesn't work, then try booting in Safe Mode to see if it still happens.
Lastly, submit error report to Samsung Members app or Wearable app for professional support.

Device Model : SM-G780G/DS
Software Version : Android 11 (One UI 3.1) September Update
I am using wired headphones.
I tried in Safe Mode, the result is still the same unfortunately.
Look at advanced sound settings, play with those. Also check through Developer options with headset plugged in.
Try clearing the system cache and a hard reboot.
Play with sound settings volume control, cycle from minimum to max a few times.
Make sure volume limiting isn't active.
Load Galaxy Sound Assistant, at the least it will give you more volume level steps.
Consider a pair of Buds+ as they work very well especially for calls. I don't like a phone glued to my face...

wired USB c headphones or wired 3.5mm into an adaptor ?
either way you may have a compatibility issue, that's what I'd look at first. there is a setting about USB pass-through audio routing in developer options, check that if they're USB c headphones. if you've got an adaptor it'll need to have DAC built-in to work right.
as noted above by others, the connector part or the wire segment may be defective, test the headphone on other devices if possible. If the headphone works okay on other phones then it is possible the phone's port is bad. You can have it checked at authorized service center which ever is near you.
If nothing is seen to be damaged or defective then submit error report to Samsung Members after reproducing the issue, it may be a software issue.
Hi to everybody, I have more or less the same problem, or rather in headphones the volume is fine, but it is low both in capsule and speakerphone (much compared to my old LG V30 that still use as a second phone).
Unfortunately I rooted it without even thinking about making a call first, I didn't expect to have this problem so I can't contact support.
With other phones, years ago, I used to edit the mixer_paths.xml file and managed to raise the volume even a lot, is it no longer possible to do this?

Known issue.
There is workaround, You need to start any call then connect to the bluetooth of the car after you hangout it should stay connected to the bluetooth of the car.
Delete the phone from your car's system and start the entire process over.

Or you could plug it into the car via USB instead of fighting with the Bluetooth. I know that defeats the purpose of a fix for Bluetooth, but it's an easy work-around in the meantime.

Obviously was device based as I NEVER EVER had any bluetooth connection issues.
And I´m using BT a lot!
But feels good anyway they fixed a problem others had...may have eventually affected me some time.
