Hi! Yestrday I rooted my LG Optimus 4x HD. Then I download CWM wiped the cache (factory reset )and put it in the recoverymode (with CWM) to install CM11. Sadly enough I couldn't install the CM11-zip from recovery-mode But then when I tried to start up the phone in the recovery mode, all went well but the LG logo shows and then it disappears and then shows and the disappears and so on...:crying: Now I can't do anything, It won't start (just the logo will show up). I can put it in recovery-mode but nothing else... Have someone been in to the same problem? Do some of you smart developers and heavy android-users a solution?? I would be a really happy man if you guys know! // Jakob:fingers-crossed:
Hi. Take a look at isomalt Thread that is a little older than yours. I think he had the same problem.

Solving this problem is very easy: Just put your phone in recovery mode, activate ADB Sideload and connect your 4X HD to your PC (ADB drivers/Android SDK must be installed). With the terminal you can copy the CM11 .zip to your phone and flash CM11.
You can find a quick tutorial about that on the web.
Hold up, before trying any of the suggestions, tell us if you unlocked the bootloader? If you didn't, that's the cause. Search on the forum on how to unlock it

Download this and use SmartFlashTool to flash this. It will unbrick your phone but beware you will lose all your data.

Download the mobile driver again, and follow the instructions correctly. Like, removing the battery, press volume down while plugging in until the s/w update screen appears, etc etc. Good luck! Hope it'll boot after the flash.

I've a similar-ish issue. I've got CWM installed and can boot into CWM ok. My problem was that I tried to install a ROM (MIUI) and the install had no errors, but when the phone was powered on it hung at the MIUI screen.
So I reverted to a backup successfully and decided to have another go (same problem). This time, after I restore to the backup (which is installed without error by CWM) I can't can't past the initial LG screen. Seems to go into reboot loop.
Any thoughts anyone? If I can get into CWM ok and have a working restore then is there something I'm doing wrong!!
thanks,
Mark

Did you try to hold the - key down while plugging in a usb? (pull out your battery) if that succeeds then you should use kdz flash tool to revert and AIO Tool by OS_Hacking to get a proper recovery.
Hi Experts
My Optimus 4X HD (jelly bean) has been rooted and boot loader unlocked successfully. CWM touch recovery is also installed and I was all set to flash cyanogenmod ROM 10.1.2.
My device is stuck at the LG splash screen after I selected normal boot from the 4X Touch Recovery app.
When I try to enter recovery mode using Volume + and Power button, get the warning message from LG; "This mode is for data backup at service center..." and does not allow further. In short I am not able to boot in any mode.
Is there a way to bypass the warning message from LG and enter recovery mode.
I have checked ADB is working fine once I power up and connect via USB. I can see the device in ADB Devices command.
I am also able to enter another console (volume - and power button) but there is no recovery option. Just data reset and wipe cache partition etc are available.
Is there a way to enter recovery mode and flash recovery image or flash ROM from ADB
Please advise.
Thanks
Soumya
Touch recovery app is for ice cream sandwich, you needed to install proper recovery from ROM manager or manually. Reflash your stock image then do your homework

I am trying out various ways to get the stock image installed . Tried from KDZ file, LG Mobile support etc. All have failed so far.I'm Still trying.
Is there a way to skip the LG service warning. I guess the service center folks must be using some way to bypass that warning.
The warning says "This mode is for data backup at service center, please remove battery and place again abd then use power button....."
Somehow this has affected my 32 gig SD card which is unreadable now. That had all the recovery images etc, will try to use another one. The sd card is simply unusable now. :crying:

you're doing it wrong - don't use volume up and power. just hold volume down while plugging in the cell phone into computer (no need to press power button at all).
this way you'll go into s/w upgrade mode, where you can use kdz flasher to flash 20a kdz file.

This forum is for the LG Optimus 4X HD. We use completely different methods to root and unlock our device, so don't expect to get any help here. Also, you should never just post your stuff onto the end of someone else's thread unless you are posting about the same thing - it's very rude.

No one here can help, completely diferent device. Youu need to post in the forum specific to your phone if you cant find it post and the general android forum. Asking for advice on a device forum different to your device is a sure way to end up with a brick

Force an update using the LGMobileSupport tool while in download mode. The option is in the upper right menu's. That should bring the device back to life.
On why you got in a boot loop: you tried to flash a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader. Please read a little more before you try again.

hey guys, thank you for your answers
we already tried to follow the tutorial you sent sonyc2011, but i dont understant why, most of the softwares we are supposed to use just crashes.
But we found an other tutorial (type : "How to Return / Unbrick / Downgrade LG Optimus 4X HD" to find it) that worked perfectly !
So we installed the old ICS rom, we updated it to 4.1.2, then rooted it. now we are working on unlocking the bootloader. And we will THEN install the recovery .
Thank you again for your help and sorry again for my bad english !
